>>719006429 I don't know what kind of a hellhole you live in, but here, you can walk into a coffee shop and order a coffee without hearing dudes talking about eating pussy, so IDK what the fuck you're talking about.
>>719006310 Where do you live? I live in the gayest city in the country (San Fransisco) and I never hear faggots talk about that shit in public. Come out of the closet already faggot, no straight man talks about sucking dick.
>>719006062 Partly because any differing from any norms is frowned upon, but it get enforced by two things:
-People who wants to save their young kin from such a terrible fate - they seek to insist such a fear of same sex relationship in them, that they prefer to suppress their feelings and fake heterosexuality, thus ruining two peoples chance for happiness, but many people think it's better this way.
-Which leads to cause two, people in denial, faking heterosexuality, which causes resentment to themselves, and towards people who get to lead the lifestyle they secretly desire.
Oversimplified, I'm sure, but I think I'm on to something.
PS Heterosexual male here, but I have looked at transexual porn, especially Bailey jay.
>>719006846 So you live here too? or what proof are you going to use. Unless you hang out exclusively with fags, they don't talk about faggotness in public. >>719006880 No, but if you make erroneous statements without any proof, it's just projecting.
One thing is for sure, no straight man gives a shit what two men do with their lives, or what they do in public. They are definitely homophobic, but not because they are afraid of fags, they are afraid of their own gayness.
>>719006062 "Homophobia" is your natural instinct to avoid an ancient disease with no known cure. Humans with their natural instinctive aversion to this disease have tried for centuries to get rid of it to no avail through a many means, so if you can't beat it, at least normalize it. Fast forwards thousands of years to current day: We've come up with ideas like "homophobia" to detour, through guilt, your natural born instinct to avoid this rather strange disease that picks it's victims at random. Since we haven't been able to cure this disease humans at the top of the chain who are either sick themselves or have children that are sick decided to normalize the condition. It's no stranger to avoid the disease-ridden gays than it is to avoid people with a cold. Both repel you even though you won't necessarily contract that strain of it.
There you have anon. Homophobia explained through the thoughts of a time traveler. You're very welcome.
>>719008219 You realize it's a vicious cycle, right? All the homophobes make gay people feel like they have to protest against homophobia. If homophobes would drop it and move on with their lives, gay people wouldn't feel the need to show it off. Basically, the more people say "A BAD" the more people feel the need to say "A GOOD". Same goes for shit like BLM vs ALM. BLM wouldn't be a thing if it weren't for the police brutality, and it wouldn't have been around for so long if it weren't for ALM. vice versa.
and being gay means no children and if you are an only child, basically means your mother and father had a child that sent a ripple, but not nearly as strong as a ripple that your children and their children would. gay=rip family line
not like you're seriously arguing or anything, but whatever happens between consenting adults, you know? Certain sexual positions are also more dangerous than others, but surely you wouldn't dare to dictate the behavior of what people do in their own homes, would you?
>>719008670 >Also a gay butt is more likely to have aids in it. Would I be putting words in your mouth if I now assume you think gays are more promiscous? I don't doubt that some are, but it is possible to be gay and in long term faithful relationships
>>719009145 The brain is complicated, and every person's is different. We don't know exactly what causes homosexuality, but there are a lot of theories. We've seen a large amount of homosexual behavior in animals, and have linked it to a number of different causes.
>>719009249 Because a long time ago some old fucks decided you were only allowed to wear clothes than matched your junk and then everything got all fucky.
>>719009429 This is a pretty large generalization. There are lots of people of all sexualities that are private or bombastic about it. You probably just notice "gay pride" more often because it's not what you're used to. also, see >>719008600
>>719009145 Attraction probably exists as natures way to ensure genes are spread - but that does not mean people can be attracted to just one thing - even within heterosexual attraction, different couples can get attracted by different things - so I think simply put, attraction exists due to evolution, but it's not a very specific thing.
>>719010259 That's not what's happening, you sound like you're believing what you want to believe.
A have more than a few gay friends, but am not gay myself. The idea that any of them would try to "convert me" is laughable. The only times you would know they were gay is when they'd talk about their significant others. The only other time they mention being gay is when it causes problems for them. One of my friend's parents are homophobic and constantly give him shit for being gay, another one's in a similar position. "Gay pride" and that sort of thing is fully in response to hundreds of years of homophobia, constantly trying to silence or eradicate homosexual behavior.
To someone like you, who has no ties to homosexuality, I totally understand why it seems like they won't shut up about it. But that's because you have no way of knowing what their experience is. And all they want to do is fix things so they can stop talking about it too.
Basically, you're getting mad at a mirror when you should be mad at the sun.
>>719010838 None of this explains why you care about your genes passing on. If you don't have any kids, none of your kids are going to be around to be sad about not existing.
>>719011020 what in particular do you dislike/are you sure it is 1-to-1 corellated with homosexuality? Or do you dislike a subset of homosexuals, or perhaps even a behavior found among homosexuals and heterosexuals?
>>719010918 >The idea that any of them would try to "convert me" is laughable. You don't know your gay friends as well as you think you do.
I do. I've spent a lot of time in gay bars; I had a gay roomate; I hung out with a lot of gay guys in college--hooked up two who got "married". I have friends who are trans, both trans-women and trans-men. I have taken a special interest in people with unusual sexual orientation.
They secretly think you are as gay as they are, and eventually one of them will attempt to prove it. You don't have to believe me now, just remember that I warned you.
>>719011169 >clovergender everyone knows that's a meme, fuck off
>>719011220 "male" and "female" gender roles vary by culture, therefore they are a social construct. There is some commonality based on biology, but that's most out of convenience. There is no reason to keep reinforcing what is a purely cultural phenomena.
>>719011231 Don't need to, don't want to go down the pedo rabbit hole, only needed to show that there is a difference between homo and pedo. Don't try to derail.
>>719011449 If they're trying to convince you that you're not the sexuality that you say you are, they're being shitty. That's a trait held by your "friends", not by every game person ever.
>>719011456 >studies have shown cite your sources? In any case, I think most gay people do want to "take no part in it" and just settle in and enjoy life with a partner. If your distaste isn't for homosexuality, but just for rampant sexual display, then I'm on your side. I would be as irked by a straight guy talking about how much he likes fucking girls as I would by a gay woman doing the same. Gay pride is a reaction.
>>719011557 how is that any different from what I said. try again.
>>719011449 I'll accept that you have more experience than me, however, I'm not so sure they all "secretly think you are as gay as they are".
I also do not think there is anything wrong with a gay man hitting a heterosexual man up, any more than there is anything wrong with a heterosexual man hitting a heterosexual woman up, as long as they can take no for an answer. There especially is nothing wrong with hitting up a person that frequently hangs out in gay bars.
>>719011459 It may be a meme, it may have started as 4chan trolling social justice warriors, but seriously I think this is a plausible sexual orientation.
Remember when Michael Jackson was facing charges of molesting little boys at his Neverland Ranch? They said he may be suffering from "Peter Pan Syndrome", that he felt so much like a child that he could not distinguish behavior that is socially acceptable between children from behavior that is not socially acceptable between children and adults. If you believe the allegations that this led him to sexual encounters with the children, then you have here a case of what 4chan has coined "clovergender"
>>719011940 >they're being shitty People are shitty, it's not unique to homosexuals.
>>719012130 >as long as they can take no for an answer The problem is they don't. Maybe they give up for the night, maybe they don't bring it up for a while, but if you do not terminate contact with that person at some point they will think they are getting under your skin and that you are ready to "break out" and be gay with them. Mark my words, this is going to happen to you.
>>719011934 Why does that bother you? Like, I'm not trying to be antagonistic, I'm legit curious. Because I can sort of understand it. I haven't ever been to a gay pride, and certainly don't think I would have a good time if I went to one, but I'm glad that the people who do go enjoy themselves. There are a lot of PSYCH-101 guesses I could make but I'd honestly like to hear your assessment of your feelings about it. Why do you think gay pride irks you?
Maybe this is related, but I went through a similar thing with the special snowflake tumblr bullshit, with everyone identifying as whatever latin spew of words they could find. I'm fairly progressive when it comes to identity, but there was some bullshit that would really get under my skin.
I'm going to use "allosexuality" as an example because of how egregious it is. Basically people would say that they were "allosexual", which would mean that they were attracted to intelligent people. And when I heard that I immediately hated it and thought anyone who went out of their way to identify that way was an idiot. Obviously most of the people doing it were 15 or whatever, so no duh. But I didn't really understand why it bothered me for a while.
I think it has to do with the annoyance of someone going out of their way to identify themselves as being "special", because doing that somehow implies that they think they're better than anyone else. And I can see why that's so irritating to me, and to other people. But I don't know who's to blame. Maybe they need to keep that shit to themselves, maybe I need to not assume that someone defining themselves affects how I define myself. Beats the hell out of me.
I don't know if that resonates with you at all, just my two cents. If you have other thoughts I'm all ears.
>>719012257 Legal age of consent. Actual age is up for debate, the fact that there is a specific age limit is accepted by everyone except pedos, comment trolls and homophobes fishing for arguments against homosexuality. Which are you?
>>719012215 >>719012175 Regardless of how that person feels about themselves, that's not a free pass to go around fucking kids. Even if clovergender was a real thing (it's not), that's not a "get into boipussy free" card.
>>719012697 I am a cisgender heterosexual male and I've never had any doubts about it.
You're not going to believe this, but I ended up having the experiences I have because I seek out people who live unconventional lives and I make no judgements until they prove themselves good or bad people. I know a lot of criminals, sexual deviants, mentally ill, etc etc. as a result.
Unfortunately almost every gay person I have come to know has suffered the same delusion that all straight men, and straight men who are comfortable having gay friends in particular, are closet gays themselves.
>>719012747 I had confirming trips? haha! I'd like to think it wasn't universal. There is >>719010665, so maybe there is hope.
>>719013411 Pedophilia is illegal pretty much everywhere. I don't think any country that has a specified age of consent has one so low as to allow pedophilia. A few have an age of consent low enough to allow ephebophilia, as nature intends.
>>719013451 I don't know if this applies at all, but re: your gay friends that want you to "come out".
A lot of them probably went through long stretches of time where they were in the closet and afraid to come out. That time was probably particularly challenging and difficult for them. If they really believe that you are gay, they want to provide support for you so that the transition is easier. So if they're consistently bringing it up, they're trying to help but not getting the message. Gay people tend to stick together as well, wanting to avoid homophobes, so you probably raise their eyebrows by seeking them out.
However, there's certainly a point where things should be open and shut. If you've said your piece and told them you're straight and happy that way, they should have the respect to leave you alone. I have been fortunate enough to find friends (gay and straight) that have respected me, but obviously my experience isn't everyone's
>>719013411 >What would be the purpose of this? there is no purpose to the discussions. literally none. no minds will change on /b/ no laws will be changed on /b/ just continuous threads about "but why is it wrong" >but why >but why >but why there is no answer you're looking for, you just want people to try and fumble to give you an answer. it's part of your thrill. you need to see people fail at their argument. but the argument is pointless. the whole thing is pointless. >ib4 but why is it pointless because i've already told you why
>>719008256 The same reason fags aren't allowed to donate blood in most countries. Diseases like HIV spread primarily (and with greatest probability) from anal intercourse, something which is much more frequent among fags. Also, fags have a tendency for a lot of sexual partners, which further emphasize the point.
>>719013451 I thought I was pretty vanilla for the longest while, until I discovered bondage and domination turned me on, despite it looking completely bonkers earlier. This does not prove that people previously identifying as hetero, can sometimes discover they're not, but it is a fact that some people completely change lifestyle.
Are you the same anon who claimed to freqeuent gay bars? And took an interest in differing sexuality? If that means you've actually been asking people about being gay, you can probably see how people might think there's a chance? Especially since most people don't give specific, grand declarations of their sexuality, though perhaps you did, being hetero in gay bars.
>>719013881 >you probably raise their eyebrows by seeking them out Perhaps. It's not like I go into a bar and ask people "Hey, are you a sexual deviant?" Without really putting effort into it I somehow make a lot of such friends though. Same for drug addicts, depressives, gang members (no one special, just some grunts), embezzlers, and petty criminals. Is it naieve of me to think that I can try to make friends with people who are dissimilar to me without conforming to them?
All cards on the table though, I am not exactly a "normie"; I'm a pothead, an alcoholic, an ephebophile, formerly a petty theif and more or less recovered from depression and anxiety disorder.
“LOG ENTRY: SOL 381 I’ve been thinking about laws on Mars. Yeah, I know, it’s a stupid thing to think about, but I have a lot of free time. There’s an international treaty saying no country can lay claim to anything that’s not on Earth. And by another treaty, if you’re not in any country’s territory, maritime law applies. So Mars is “international waters.” NASA is an American nonmilitary organization, and it owns the Hab. So while I’m in the Hab, American law applies. As soon as I step outside, I’m in international waters. Then when I get in the rover, I’m back to American law. Here’s the cool part: I will eventually go to Schiaparelli and commandeer the Ares 4 lander. Nobody explicitly gave me permission to do this, and they can’t until I’m aboard Ares 4 and operating the comm system. After I board Ares 4, before talking to NASA, I will take control of a craft in international waters without permission. That makes me a pirate! A space pirate!”
Imagine your favorite ice cream flavor was banned. Imagine having to see all of your friends eating their favorite ice cream flavors, having to get your favorite ice cream flavor illegally or not have it at all. You'd be pretty pumped if action started taking place that would make your favorite ice cream flavor legal, yeah? Let's say a law is passed that legalizes your favorite flavor, and now you can eat it whenever you want. You might feel compelled to celebrate.
Now imagine that every tenth person went through the same shit you did. You might start hosting some that-ice-cream-flavor enthusiast parties. You might be a little pumped up, a little happy about how things went.
And yeah, I see how if you aren't gay, if your favorite ice cream flavor wasn't banned, you don't get what the big deal is and you wish those people would stop making such a big deal about how great their ice cream flavor is. But honestly, the big deal is novelty, and the fact that it's a fight that isn't totally over. There are still bigots everywhere, and every "god hates fags" rally drives them to counteract with their own unapologetic celebrations. Because bigots are trying to spoil their fun, and quieting down let's them think they've won.
An absence of bigotry is the same as an absence of gay pride.
>>719014870 It's not naive, no. Same shit here with the anxiety and depression, sorry man.
>>719015424 homosexuality is natural, and pedophilia actually is not. Breeding with animals that can't reproduce is incredibly biologically wasteful, and rare in nature.
In either case though, pedophilia is illegal because it's non-consensual, and homosexuality is legal because it's consensual.
>>719014405 >>719014870 As far as my experience in gay bars, I was usually going there with my roomate/coworker. As I was new in town and didn't know anywhere to go, I asked him to take me out, knowing what kind of place it would be. I never have to ask people if they are gay; I can see it for miles. I did feel rather uncomfortable actually, with all those guys looking at me like a piece of meat. Made me have a little more sympathy for women wakling into a sausage fest.
I don't just straight up ask people what kind of unconventional life they may be living, but I seem to have a talent for finding such people--or maybe they find me.
Here's an example: I was having coffee in a cafe one day with a friend. My friend left first and I hung out a little longer. Out of nowhere, another customer I've never met comes over and makes some comments about the conversation we had overheard (we'd been talking about the history of Halloween as a harvest holiday). Explains he recently had a harvest holiday himself, then drops a loaded pipe on the table. There were other customers in the cafe; none of them are users to my knowledge, but they didn't immediately call the police. I don't know how he knew I was a smoker--at that time I hadn't had a puff in about four years and I didn't have any smoker associates in the city. That's how I met my dealer; he says he just "knew".
>>719015791 >this group of people all behave this one way >I'm not a bigot you might be, dude.
Also you're probably catching some second-hand reaction, and/or learning about what "gay people are like" from some obnoxious TV stereotype. Unless you're learning about what gay people are like by actually interacting with a gay person, it's going to be skewed.
>>719006062 Not all gays flaunt their sexuality, but those most exposed to the majority are. This means that everyday contact with gays for many are people in media flaunting or priding.
Which leads me to my point; most people dislike when others shamelessly display sexual behavior. If you go full filthy Frank in public in the company if strangers, the others will get disgusted. This also covers some degrees of slutshaming, which is less extreme due to a bigger correspondence with the majority. Most people, primarily women also dislike players, but the majority is so exposed to this historically that it is accepted by some.
Gays might not all flaunt their sexuality, but those that do keep themselves very exposed. This is disliked. Thus the few makes the many look like sexual deviants.
Also, homophobia is bullshit term. Ever seen a fag, screamed and ran? Ever been an arachnofobic, seen a spider and just kicked it's face in?
>>719015998 homophobia definitely is not the right term, but it's what we've got.
And yeah, louder people get the most publicity. Anyone turning into any anti-gay news source is going to find the loudest most obnoxious gay people and put them on full display. I said earlier, most of my gay friends don't mention it unless it comes up, you wouldn't know unless they told you.
Homophobia is rare. Very few people are afraid of witnessing or acknowledging same-sex relations. The common reason why people are mistrusting, hateful, and unduly critical of homosexuals is because they lack exposure.
Most people who 'hate gays' have never known a gay person or spent any time with one. So, they think it's some secretive mischievous type of person that one has to be in order to be gay. It's like not knowing if your neighbour is one of the lizard people.
I don't like gay people or religious people any more or less than any other type of people.. but gay people who are religious infuriate me. There is no reasonable way to reconcile the love of one's self with the knowledge or belief that your 'creator' doesn't want you.
If God exists and God created mankind, why would he create two sexes if he intended for homosexuality to exist? Any gay person preposterous enough to suggest an answer to that instead of saying 'oh no, such a fool i've been' etc - should be slapped in the face until they die for being perpetually retarded.
>>719015743 So you, as a hetero man, can spot homosexuality miles away, but homos can't spot heterosexuality up close, and this is evidenced by a dealer offering you pot in a cafe where dropping a pipe on the table is no big deal.
Fuckin sucks how heteros got better gaydar than homos, eh?
Bi-Curious guy here, tried my first homosexual relationship with my 100% gay best friend at the time and broke up with him because all he wanted was sex (It was his first relationship with a male and he had a huge crush on me)
Found out I was not into sex with boys but I would've been happy to hold a non-sexual relationship.
He pushed and pushed at it for some time until I did break up with him and now he practically harasses me with gay comments and everything I say he turns around to me allegedly wanting his dick.
Not homophobic of course but fuck gay people can be annoying as fuck when they flaunt about how gay they are. And don't get me wrong here, if a straight person flaunted it off I would be equally as annoyed.
>>719017750 And perhaps you're right. Though I do still feel rather annoyed with all the flaunting about of the whole stereotypical gay attitude and such, not just from him
>>719017922 Thank you and I understand this, but I have seen a lot of this behavior or heard of it from friends. I am in no way against homosexuality, as of course, I am bisexual, myself, I suppose the poor experiences have turned me off from it all.
