>>718441142 The dregs can't even afford healthcare, under a certain threshold and you're not covered by the ACA but by Medicaid, and since many states have slashed Medicaid funding the poorest of the poor (unless you're a single mother of 3) will be left with no health insurance
ACA was flawed but those flaws can be worked out without a total repeal
Obamacare has been BANKRUPTING average American families for years now. Prices have skyrocketed and basic care has decreased. NOTHING good has come from it. Obamacare was designed to fail so that the entire healthcare industry could be redesigned around a government-run system.
What a total loser you are OP. Put down the Dem coolaid and think for yourself. -Obama was the worst president in modern history. -Obamacare is a unsustainable failure, look at all the exchanges that closed. -health care for illegals.
Let me educate you, there is nothing FREE. Someone is paying for it, the people GIVING it to you want something for it, your dumb vote.
>>718441878 Lots of good came from it. Rates skyrocketed for some, but fell for others. It allowed people with prexisting conditions to finally get afforadable healthcare too. Be careful with words like "never" or "nothing"
I don't see the doctor. I only have healthcare cause I don't want to eat the stupid fucking fine that our nigger president forced on us for not signing up. Before Obamacare I paid less than $50 a month. Now its gone up over $100 per month. It has gone up each year for me.
>>718442325 180 dollars a month for me i was 21 single white male when obamacare came out minimum price was 180 monthly for me considering i had a minimum wage job at the time imagine how much of my income that is. 7.25 hourly here. if i say no to that i get fucked out of like 200$ on my taxes easy choice
>>718445459 If you are a small business owner you need to vote Republican! I had this same conversation in reverse with a guy selling foodstamps complaining about Obamacare. He didn't even have a job for them to be taking taxes out of his check.
>>718442252 Obama did nothing about the bombings but bring more mudslimes into the country to make sure Hillary didn't run out of ammo for the weapon that's destroying the country, polished greatly by the idiot liberals who support them.

>>718447186 It doesn't though. You don't have to pay medical debt, there is no way they can force you to pay.
And eventually the collection companies will sell the debt to someone else very cheaply and try to collect some of it, but again, the keyword is try. There is nothing they can legally do to get you to pay.
>>718448641 >implying people get sick and die before their time because of reasons other than unhealthy lifestyles >also, not realizing you are more prone to wasting money when it isn't yours sage strikes again
>>718448282 You have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Your scenario is true only if your assets remain below a certain level or you file for bankruptcy. Otherwise, if you have sufficient assets, the collectors can get a judgment and start executing on that judgment.
Here's an idea. Stop working fast food and retail and expecting a living wage. Turns out, if you actually have some sort of marketable skill and put in the effort, you'll land yourself with a full time job, insurance, a living wage, and a 401k. You don't need college to do it either, but if you do decide to further your education, maybe gender studies, history, and english literature are not the best choices. You are literally cucking yourself.
>>718444645 My insurance through my employer had gotten larger than my mortgage and power and water bills combined a month. 1300 a month for my family of 4. I still came out of pocket over 10 grand for medical treatment last year. So my very limited care we received last year ran us over 24000. There is no way this math makes sense.
This year I went to.the exchanges and got a similar plan for just as much but the subsidy does take my out of pocket to 450. That's still 1300 a month the taxpayers and I are forking out.
Something has to give. I don't think there is a good solution unless we go to the German model.
Eurofag here. Now that Obamacare will be gone soon I'm looking forward to all the threads with ppl with open nutsacks, broken fingers and fleshwounds looking for medical advice on here. There will be 2 options like in the good old days: pay a couple of grands for your shitty hospitals cause you dont have insurance or fix it with tape.

>>718449079 no, the fee is base on how much you make. I make 130k/year and my fee is only $1300.
being a 1099 worker, i have to pay for healthcare on my own, which is around $700 per month for me, and that still has a $5k deductible... so fuck that, i go to the doctor once ever couple years. Its cheaper for me to pay everything out of pocket and the yearly fee.
>>718440319 I work for a small business that can't afford a full insurance plan for our less than 10 employees. Without the aca we won't be able to supply insurance to our employees and we will lose at least 6
Are you actually trying to suggest that you'll never die if you'd just live a health lifestyle? How fucking young are you? Do you fucking hear yourself. I good friend of mine died at the age of 34 from terminal cancer, he was at the fucking peak of health until he noticed a lump in his armpit one day.
Shit just happens because we're mortal. There doesn't have to be a moral cause for bad things to happen anon
>>718450889 yea but i make 1000 a month thats 20% of my income plus income tax and social security thats another 15~25% so 35~45% of my income a month was going to the government if i decided to get healthcare cause im young i dont need healthcare. It should not be manditory it should be a choice
>>718448455 I had major surgery when I was 12 and without ACA noone will insure me at all. I will lose everything if I have a serious medical issue and I will go back to having no way to insure against it. how is that reasonable?

Honestly, this was a great effort and did drop prices. What would be a better solution to stop the unjustified costs? Seriously? Try to continue to pass bills and amendments that get rejected because people pockets are getting padded?
>>718440024 >implying you were owed healthcare >implying obamacare did anything more than give layabout losers free healthcare as it drove premiums up for practically everyone who pays their own way in life.

>>718449730 This is wishful thinking at its worst. Think about it. Americans have become limp, whiny pussies. They bail out banks just to get fucked over. They bail out airlines just to grab their ankles and pay $70 for a fucking carry on fee. They watched a witch and a clown run for president and, rather than object, they just sat back and watched. They watch their government hand over their money, their culture, and their future to illegal aliens and terrorists ...I mean..."refugees" and they do nothing. The gun nuts claim they have the 2nd amendment to protect against tyranny, but they've not even spoken of a real revolution even though Clinton, Bush, and Obama were tyrannical enough to warrant at least a fucking >discussion<
The most any american will do is post a bitchy comment online and then get back to work to pay off that education/house/car/life that they can't even afford. Who made it all so unaffordable? Legislators. But oh well. Nothing to see here. Go back inside. Go back to sleep. We'll wake you when the pop tarts are ready.
Has nothing to do with race. Someone is paying for what you want for free. Problem is, the ins companies know ppl can't get out of buying ins and the rates get jacked. Just like Car insurance did when that was required by law.
Fucking Dems have no capacity for critical thinking.
>>718452310 >Someone is paying for what you want for free
Healthcare is a need, not a want. This might not occur to you but society is stronger when people's needs are met, since if someone is healthy they're out there building, selling and buying things. Needy people do not do this. As such, as a general principle, needs get paid for by whoever can afford it if the need is bad enough.
> Fucking Dems have no capacity for critical thinking.
The irony is delicious. You literally have no concept of societal sustainability
>>718450712 Then don't offer insurance. They can buy it with their own money. Better yet, think of this as an incentive to hire veterans and/or reservists/national guard. We already have Tricare. I pay $49/mo for my Tricare reserve select. As such, I don't burden my employer with the responsibility of providing for my health insurance. You also get the satisfaction of knowing that you're providing work for people who have made sacrifices for this country and safeguard your way of life. It's a shame that there isn't a law that requires employers to give vets priority.
>>718452525 you're confusing your own greed with civic responsbility. you're right about healthcare being a necessity, but it's not my job to provide it for you. i got a master's degree by working my ass off and i sure as fuck didn't do it all so some neet faggot could step in and rip me off. eat shit and die, loser.
>>718452458 Yes, yes, you are the adult, whining and bitching, asking for working people like me to pay your bills. Boy, what do I know about adulthood? You sure are mature to drink, smoke, fuck whores, and making illogical fallacies.
>>718451750 When the bill was originally going through there was a key provision that required each state to expand medicaid to cover everyone making under $15k/year. This would ensure that all people that currently make Healthcare so expensive (the go to the ER but never pay because they can't afford it) people would be insured and able to pay their bills. Medicaid has the ability to cover this many people cheaply simply because it is so many people they can make massive deals for very cheap.
However the Republicans said no, and to give each state the right to decide if they want it. This means everyone with health insurance has to pay for those that can't afford even ACA (aca doesn't cut in until over $15k/year)
The states that did expand medicaid are NOT getting higher prices than before, they are getting lower
we knew he'd be taking away your healthcare. also medicare/social security/disability. lol and no, republicans don't have a replacement. They'll probably just take Obamacare and relabel it Trumpcare. The retards will approve.
I've said it before. The people who're going to benefit the most are the coastal liberal elite.
The people who'll be the most harmed are middle class, red state filth. And by God they deserve it.

>>718452668 right, just like education isn't your civic responsibility.
It's everyone's. Society has collectively realized that there are spillover benefits to covering eachother's needs. Greed has nothing to do with it - heck if anything greed is wanting the benefits of society without having to pay into it - which is exactly what you want to do here.
> but it's not my job to provide it for you.
Not individually no - your job is to pay taxes, the government decides how that gets spent - and their job is to make sure society's needs are met.
> i got a master's degree by working my ass off and i sure as fuck didn't do it all so some neet faggot could step in and rip me off.

>>718453390 I went to Nassau one time and got a terrible stomach virus. I paid a grand total of 50 dollars to talk to a doctor, get a checkup, and blood work done. The only thing their government provides them water, not even food stamps exist there.
Now compare that to the wealthiest county on the planet, where a doctor visit could cost several hundred dollars. Gee, I wonder what could be the issue.
>>718453400 > My job is to pay taxes so others who contribute literally nothing can have everything I have without any of the effort?
You are amazing at building strawmen. Let's knock it down:
> people who contribute nothing
No one contributes nothing. Contribution fluctuates with a variety of factors, many of which are outside of our control as people are not omnipotent. The only people who contribute nothing at all are dead.
> can have everything I have without any of the effort?
Your tax rate is not 100%
Are you going to continue to whine about this? If you really want to be completely independent of all other people and have no one sucking off your teat, you should go live innawoods, /k/ommando. I'm sure your masters degree would get you far there.
When (and if) Trump does repeal Obamacare it probably will be another fucking disaster. Let's face it, while Obamacare has been pretty EPIC FAIL (due in part to Republican bullshittery) they mostly want it gone because of the name and corporate lobbying.
Cost actually has zilch to do with it. We all know Republicans are not fiscal conservatives, despite constantly screeching about "tax and spend liberals".
Let's not forget Obamacare is actually a Nixon initiative that was shot down by Dems (trololololo) and was an adaption of a proposal by Teddy Roosevelt. Had Obamacare been instituted under a Republican administration (Bushcare/Reagancare), they'd be fighting tooth and nail to keep that shit.
>>718453070 Pretty much. I was born to a single alcoholic mom with other brothers/sisters she couldn't afford. I joined the military, learned IT, started my own business, and at the moment I don't have any healthcare so I'm not being holier than though...If I got sick right now that is natural selection my friend.
>>718453877 Youre obviously pulling bullshit theory out of your poli-sci/soc 101 textbook. There are PLENTY of people who contribute nothing. Go to an inner city sometime and see all these junkies and fuckabouts in line for a check. Watch them go blow it on booze and then insist that they've somehow contrtibuted.
>Your tax rate is not 100%
What was that you were saying about strawmen?
Never said my tax rate was 100% They'll still get a house, car, utilities, healthcare, and food because, @ 30%, it only takes about 3 people to subsidize one useless turd and provide them with a quality of life they would not obtain on their own. You're not Robin Hood, you're just a common thief.
>>718454018 Now you're assuming I'm your enemy solely because i'm debating your bullshit. But I like your tolerance still. "Culled, gassed, destroyed" (nice nazi terms btw)
You're seriously everything that's wrong with the liberal party. Your collective hypocrisy is starting to become more apparent and you're so arrogant that you believe no one notices. They do. They did. Enjoy the next 8 years. Keep up this sort of idiotic rhetoric, and it'll prob be 12-16. Pence 2024. Enjoy it. God knows you deserve it.
>>718454294 >In all likelihood the GOP will just relabel ACA to Trumpcare and leave it as is. And I, honestly, wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised. Then they'd start asspatting each other on what a "great success" Trumpcare is...
>>718454269 > What was that you were saying about strawmen?
Not a strawman - a misinterpretation. I took when you said "have everything I have" literally, as in taking everything you own, draining your bank account until it reached zero. Not a comparative "have the same kinds of things I do"
> Go to an inner city sometime and see all these junkies and fuckabouts in line for a check. Watch them go blow it on booze and then insist that they've somehow contributed.
Any consumption fuels economy - it's called demand, that does count as contribution. Especially since so many efficiency optimizations only happen at scale, meaning if you don't have x customers for your thing, it stops being economical to produce. Look up marginal cost sometimes. Besides, even those people sell and make things and provide services. Sure it might only be drug running, babysitting, performance art or just general favors - but just because you don't value it doesn't make it not a contribution. Heck many of them even sell body parts - there's always a way for a body to contribute.
> They'll still get a house, car, utilities, healthcare, and food because, @ 30%
This is very different from your earlier argument of no healthcare for anyone who can't afford it.
>>718440401 Awwww, just like Twumpy poo: your feelings get hurt so easily, you poor little Alt-Right faggot. get fucking cancer and die from it, you dumb bitch. It was Fox News that taught you "liberals" were "inclusive". we are....except when it comes to racists fucktard idiots whose parents should have been sterilized.
>>718440024 >t. moron Obamacare has forced people into purchasing expensive health insurance they may not want or need.
The only reason Obamacare was enacted was to pay back Obama's corporate sponsors in insurance companies who now stand to profit from the artificially inflated demand for health insurance. It has sent insurance prices up, making it worse for those who don't want health insurance, and has increased the burden on those who already paid for health insurance because of the increased prices
All so the Dems could count on the insurance companies funding their campaigns
>>718453333 Then why keep voting for people who want to continue giving money to them? I live in Texas, I'm a Republican, UT grad, army vet, and I make a good salary. I hate giving my money to people who don't work for it. I vote on a strictly financial platform. Money matters, and everything else is secondary.
>>718455390 Actually if you'd followed Obama's original intent of nationalized healthcare you would'v eliminated profit margins or the need to pay out dividends to shareholders and thereby inflate prices so upwards of 50% of it can go to investors.
>>718454920 yeah, that was a shitty strawman. don't lie about it now. it's there for everyone to read.
So drunks and fuck abouts are an important component of the economic system? didn't realize that. thanks for educating me. kek.
>This is very different from your earlier argument of no healthcare for anyone who can't afford it.
Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I said they do not >deserve< it, never said they don't >receive< it anyway. Pat yourself on the back, though, I'm sure your liberal arts professors would be proud of the social progress you're making here on 4chan.
>>718455614 This argument never gets old. The difference between a soldier and welfare queen is that one is being paid for services rendered and the other is just receiving gibmedats while bringing fuck all to the table.
Willing to bet everything I have that you'd never have the balls to say stupid shit like this in public -- and certainly not to a soldier.
>>718455886 >would you be in favor of socialized medicine if Trump rolls it out? Nope, would rather have healthcare vouchers issued to the very poorest so that they can redeem them when they get ill. Would still allow the free market to compete for the best service, would stop the poorest from dying, and wouldn't be forcing anyone into making purchases they don't want to make
>>718454214 but is that natural selection? You were born to a fucked situation, and it sounds like you've done a decent amount to pull yourself out of that situation. Yet you're still in a decently shitty situation. While others are born into far better situations, do far less and remain in far better situations. That's not really natural selection...
Go vegan! You won't need insurance really, you can eliminate the risk of cancer, illness, and anything going wrong with your body. Just be careful in cars and shit, with a self driving car, I will never need health care
I make minimum wage, Obamacare more than doubled what I pay for health insurance and it's way worse than it used to be. Now my deductible is so high I pay for everything out of pocket unless I get hit by a bus or something. The bill says I'm supposed to get money from the government to cover the increase but that falls on the states not the fed and mine told Obama to go fuck himself so I'm just screwed. I can't fucking wait until Trump takes Obamacare I'm basically paying double what I used to for no healthcare
>>718453893 I have no sense of compassion or social responsibility. No one has given anything to me. I earned it. I didn't have money for an education so I enlisted. Thanks to the G.I. Bill, I got a degree and have a comfortable life.>>718454440 Every man for himself, buttercup.
>>718456359 Vouchers for the poorest is hardly socialized healthcare, it would be a relatively small program that would cost millions, but would hardly break the bank the same way Obamacare does, and wouldn't inflate the demand for healthcare too too much
Also I'd rather the govt pay slightly more to the healthcare companies than force the people to pay vast amounts into it
>>718456657 It basically cannot be argued that the best thing for the planet is less people. Whats best for the planet is best for those living on it. Our overpopulation is actually worse for us than letting a shitload of people die would be. Prove me wrong?
>Republicans love immigration >Republicans hate ILLEGAL immigration Honestly democrats are the racist ones on this issue. They essentially are calling for only one race of immigrants, hispanics, while leaving out everybody else including black people. Republicans on the other hand want legal immigration from all over the world and not just one specific racial group like the racist democrats want
>I don't support raising taxes on poor people >I support lowering taxes on ALL people, including the rich >Remove some regulation
If you've ever managed a small business you know that regulations are fucking insane right now
>Both are important >F35 is a stealth targeting platform not a dogfighter
>I'll give you this one. Republicans are retarded on social issues
>>718456399 As a non-american, I gotta say I find it ironic when you say "Democrats lost". First of all, everyone lost. You lost, democrats lost and republicans lost. But in the long run, the democrats just won. Who better to completely wipe out the American republicans but Trump? After Trump, not even the most racist Cletus in the south would dare to vote Republican. The democrat candidate can even be named "Muhammed Hakim Mahala" and be an open Muslim convicted of child rape. It will still be more desirable than the repuclican party Trump will leave after this period...
>>718454752 I know. That's why I transitioned to the reserves after I left active duty. It's pretty pathetic how we need to complete twenty years and still pay for it but a politician only needs to complete one term for free healthcare for life.
>>718457198 >If you've ever managed a small business you know that regulations are fucking insane right now Not him. But I own a business.
I don't know why it's so hard to go through a 3 page form once.
The only real motive against regulations is to lower legally required quality/safety measures. Like being able to sell otherwise FDA disapproved food. Not having to bother with worker safety. Not having to keep legal liabilities in mind towards the public. Etc.
