Mmm, I've been there a lot myself. Have you considered doing odd jobs in the meantime while you wait for something better? At least it's something for income. Good luck tho.

Meh, I'm alright I guess. Kind of burned out of work again. You?

I've been doing part time shit jobs since graduating, but I managed to get myself to the middle of nowhere. I've been borrowing from people to get by for a couple months, worried at this point if I keep not finding real work I'll have to move somewhere without a job lined up and do shit jobs again

>erection intolerant
I might have to steal this phrase
>>718374986
I wouldn't quite say I'm burnt out since I'm snowed in but I'm definitely tired of doing what I'm doing. So, I guess I feel you.

Anyone know a good function for telling if a point is within a given distance of the surface of a cube?

I'm okay I think. First back at in class so not super great.
What about you?
>>718378876
Where's the cube, where's the point and is within those tolerances?
Measure that shit dude. Unless this is calculus (sounds like calculus) in which case everything I say will only get you to fail
>>718379089
Hey dude what's up?
Oh I also got my drawing from Miles-DF today in the mail so I guess it was okay
>>718379029
>>718379131
>do you want calculus, because this is how you get calculus
>>718378876
What are you using, C# Monodevelop / Unity?
Why not make a float defined by the difference between their world positions? Monodevelop has "Vector3,distance" which will help with that.
If you need the literal surface, I would recommend, a raycast.
>>718379237
I failed out of calc a few years ago, I don't remember a ton of my math. Guess that if you don't need to use it every day you stop retaining it.
>>718379237
>>718379386
probably, mine has atrophied a bit. I did through a first course in real analysis but I know I couldn't do differential equations right now.
I wonder if I have that text book lying around, I used it as a mouse pad for a while
>>718379131
I'm alright, I suppose. Nothing special to say either way. What classes are you taking?
>>718379200
If that's it, then it's gorgeous, you lucky dog.
>>718379029
No, I'm just curious as to whether I could get a lot of money off of a half-assed Roblox game.
Roblox has become much more popular and profit-oriented lately, and despite the obsession people have with sandbox games no one's used Roblox to make anything with subdividing voxels.
I think I understand how to make a lot of money off of Roblox: Be as cancerous and pandering as possible.
The more shitty normie memes you have in the title, thumbnail, and description of your game, the more popular you will be.
If you make a game that only someone autistic could like, such as a tedious sandbox game, you will do well.
If I'm right, and I manage to actually make hundreds of dollars through shitty memes, I will be so fucking mad at life
>>718379131
The location of the cube doesn't matter, I can use linear algebra to convert to object space.
Aaaaaaand I forgot to put a picture 'cuz I'm absentminded as fuck.
>>718379560
I got rid of mine as soon as I was asked to change majors.
I know I still have my physics book and it runs through calculus pretty well.
>>718379613
That is not it, this one is.
Let's see I've got Design and Human Behavior, History of Urban Planning, Written Communication for Managers, Creative Environment (basically fostering creativity in design and in personal work and how it applies to the design process) and Principles of Product Design.
It's a full load and I still need an override into one of them but it should be good. I'm trying to set my schedule up so it's conducive with work.

Man Calc 2 kicked my ass pretty good. I think if I could have taken it a third time I might have started to understand because I actually enjoyed math.
Physics gave me a logical connection but that was too late in the semester to salvage the grade. I understood calc 1 okay but not well enough to have a good understanding of where 2 would take me.
But design has been a lot better to me since then.

yeah not sure why but I kind of felt through all of them that I didn't really get them until I did the next course. 3 though is where the weird shit starts and is useful for asking even weirder questions, like objects with more than 3 dimensions and I think I ended up using a point from that to get a derivative for X^X after a strange conversation I had with a professor. Good times actually, I miss school

Thanks man, it was the only commission I got at MFF besides our group one.
I'm a design studies major, basically I do all the design stuff without actually making anything. It could just as easily be thought of as the history and actually studying what design is.
I was previously a mechanical engineering major.
What I'd like to do after? Not a fucking clue. I mean I have some idea but I'm not really sure.
>>718381006
That's pretty cool. My time at school has been pretty rocky so I never have really gotten to know any of the staff super well.
>>718381460
>>718381531
to be fair half of why school was nice was that I was borrowing heavily and working less. So now I've got like 90K in debt and even though I probably should go back I'm afraid to. Knowing the staff depends heavily on the school, I got to talk to people more at the 2 year school I started in and doing graduate stuff, big 4 year programs the professors don't care
>>718381531
Ahh, I keep forgetting you go to those. Hope you had fun.
It's normal not to have a clue what you want to do with your life. We push so hard for people to pick one thing and only one thing when they're young with our education systems, but that's just not how it works for people.
>>718381874
>>718382114

yeah going without knowing what job you want is a good way to waste money.
I had a korean room mate a long time ago that told me they do the reverse there, kids work for several years and build up money to go to school, its probably a better method
>>718382083
thank you for posting
>>718381874
Man that sucks but hey if you enjoyed school that's good. I don't know if I can say that I have enjoyed my time here.
>>718382062
Yeah, I had fun. It was a pretty good weekend. Like last year I wish I had eaten more because I felt sick a few days.
I know it's normal not to have any idea but I'd at least like to have some idea of what I would like to do out of college, even if that isn't "the one". I mean I want to race or be a pit mechanic for Porsche or Ford in WEC but I haven't been racing karts since I was five.
That or join the Corps

military is a great way to pay for that shit.
I might try to go back anyway if the job hunting continues to get me nowhere. I couldn't get into a phd program because my grades were a bit short, had one professor suggest getting a second masters as a way to improve my standing. Not that desperate that
>>718382301
education probably means more there, too. Here it's all but expected for people to go to college, which really devalues everything.
>>718382469
