I've been here since '04. /b/ and 4chan have been a part of my entire life and I grew up here, like a lot of the other people who have been here that long. I think 4chan as a whole has been ruined by this alt-right shit. /b/ has been practically the only place impervious to it since as we say it's like "pissing in an ocean of piss".

Once upon a time, shitchan had a lot of OC, a lot of creativity, and even produced a few good collaborative projects.

But then everybody talked about shitchan and it became wildly popular. Moralfags moved in, legitimately insane people squatted, and the better OC was copypastad a zillion times over.

Meanwhile, law enforcement leaned on shitchan and this air of 'we're watching you', settled over the whole of it. Mods became moralfags and then SJWs. Now it's all disneyfied and suitable for all audiences over 18. Now it's really no different than any other bbs.

The attitude has not changed, and the types of posts are the same. What's changed, and what we're so nostalgic about, is the feeling of community. The people on this board used to be my second family when I was depressed and had no one else to talk to. That's pretty much gone as of the last three or four years. Most of the oldfags have moved on and were replaced by "normies" and it just doesn't feel like home, the way it used to.
