I've stuck my hand in grinder sparks dozens of times. Some pieces are large enough and going fast enough that the impact can hurt a little bit, but they don't touch you long enough to burn you.

Welding sparks can burn you but they are much larger droplets of molten metal. Grinder sparks are not liquid and are just flakes of metal that have been ripped away from the object that is under the grinder.

Grinder sparks are like somebody throwing fine sand really hard. It's not going to do jack shit to a thick steel bottle.
