It depends on whether speed/attack delay are front- or back-loaded. In other words, does your first attack come at time 0, or at time 1/speed? In the first case, red is better (deals 50 damage at the same time green does 1), while in the second case, green is better (deals 49 damage before red deals any).

If dodge is 100% mitigation and parry/block is 30% (Ignoring critical block chance)
Then green is far superior vs dodge (At say 30% dodge chance 100% of red is dodged and only 15% of green per second)

damage is a relationship between damage and speed
you calculate it by multiplying speed (attacks per base 1) by damage (per attack)
green has 1 damage per attack and 50 attacks per base
while green's speed value is 5 times blue's, the damage output is not. damage output is a function of damage and speed

Stop watching TV shows and playing video games about bows and arrows. They're effective but not as cool as you think. Slow and can be very hard to aim. And unless you get a real good shot, your target isn't dead either.

It depends on how damage is calculated and on how combat works.

If an enemy with 5 Def subtracts 5 points of damage from every attack that hits it, the green sword is useless against every enemy with any kind of defense investment because it'd do 0 damage all the time.

Conversely, if you'd have to take 50 hits every time you can attack with the red sword, you're probably fucked as well.

For example, the red sword would be a bad choice for a lot of little mobs, say, 50 1 hp mobs. But it would be more effective vs something with say, 5 damage reduction each round.

of green blue red, I think the only logical solution is taking blue given we don't know anymore rules about the world (how dodge/parry works, how armor and damage mitigation work, etc). in a world where armor implies flat damage reduction rather than % based, the green dagger is really going to be fucked. in a world where dodge grants complete damage reduction, the red two hander is relying too much on rng and is likely to overkill otherwise anyway, so it's not that efficient. the blue sword is going to give you the best of both worlds and put you in a better spot for whatever the rules of the world/system are.

Sorry, typo, my bow is 68 pounds. Not 78. And my shot is "about" one second, but closer to 1.2 seconds. not that any of this makes a difference when shooting at melee targets coming from a distance... they are dead in any case.

English longbowmen could manage one arrow every 4 seconds on a minimum 130-pound bow, with accuracy, at 200 yards. That's almost twice the distance and draw as my shots on my longbow. I probably would not be accepted as an English longbowman. But it's still more than enough to kill some retard rushing at me with a sword, or to hunt a deer humanely.

I prefer speed and mobility in games, so I like Green.

However, I hate long drawn out battles. The satisfaction of wiping out an enemy in a single hit is extraordinary. So I like Red.

Blue is the middle ground. You have a reasonable amount of speed and mobility, but things don't take forever to die. I like Blue.

Using Dark Souls as my reference, I almost always go with giant weapons. It's just too dangerous to have a protracted fight, even though I lose mobility. Winning as quickly as possible is the objective.
