I think you may be confusing grace with social acceptance. Millennials seem to be more worried about fitting in than any previous generation. You don't see nearly as much diversity within populations of millenials as other genrations. Yes, as I just got out of it. But there's also a lot more opportunity than most people realize, especially if you're poor.

I finished my associates degree when I was 18 and didn't pay for any of it, because I took advantage of federal grants and state PSEO (post-secondary enrollment options) to get all my uni classes for free. No one tells you about these grants, no one guides you through these options, but if you're willing to go out and look, they're there, and a lot of that is BECAUSE the system is so fractured. A huge percentage of the grant money available to low-income students never get used, because kids lack ambition, and teachers and councilors don't want to bother with letting them know these options exist.

Yes, the education system is broken, yes, there are a lot of stupid, ambitionless millennials out there, but there's also a lot of opportunity for someone willing to go out and get it. Smart, driven millennials do exist.
