I never in all of my young life thought the liberals would become so bad that I side with the right. American politics is a fake tribal hometeam game. You always root for your team no matter who it is instead of picking the person who holds most of your values. And the fucked up part is it's even systematic and in some parts of the country you have to be listed as a R or D before you can choose someone.

You can have the conservative values of self responsibility, supporting the constitution, owning guns, and loving America and still have the liberal values of legalizing marijuana, letting the gays marry, respecting a woman's right to choose, and not being racist. There's retards in both groups and they tend to be at each end of the spectrum.
>>
>>716275270
>>
>>716274945

There are a handful of conservative values that have solid roots in logical ideas. Not all of them are bigoted asshats. This is exactly the point we're making. The system of generalizing all individuals and ideas into two constrained narratives limits a legitimate democratic dialogue. Discussion and the exploration of ideas is the only way a democratic society moves forward. But our democracy is now dominated by media reinforced titles and virtual echo chambers, leaving legitimate commentary as a minority in the shadows. This enforces a polarization of the masses and will only serve to divide the common people of America, enabling plutocrats to continue to seize power.

ITT: butthurt relatively undereducated conservatives trying desperately to affirm their safe-space beliefs that "you're not stupid just because you don't have a Master's degree, at the very least," and "education and intelligence don't correlate," etc...

Get real, the education level of Trump's white voter-base was lower than that of Hillary's by a frightening margin (and let's face it, other racial groups are not relevant to this particular point because their votes not driven by their ability to conceive of and analyze the consequences of contemporary government policy - their votes were driven by "yuh racism"). Education correlates strongly with situational awareness, objectivity, analytical ability, and problem solving skills.

Why is it liberals have to use their college degrees to convince people that they're smart? The easier way to actually do that is simply to say something coherent, thoughtful, and fucking smart. But rather than expose an inability to do that, they rely on appeals to authority, if they WERE smart, then they'd know that hinging an argument on a logical fallacy is a bad idea.

For the most part, liberals fall into two groups: those who AREN'T smart, but let themselves believe that they are simply because they happen to share opinions with people who can rationalize them; and people of perfectly adequate intelligence who simply don't bother explaining their views to "deblorable conservatives." And they wonder why people call them elitist.

Tests are for evaluating a person's specific contextual education, and they do a piss poor job at that, let alone at measuring the quality of over-arching skills that I mentioned. But even if they did that job well, whether or not the evaluations are mandatory says little about the capacity of the students, especially those who are actually motivated to education for education's sake (whom, in the most relevant fields to the skills mentioned above are overwhelmingly liberal).

Then on top of the Trump coping rooms are demanded almost exclusively for the relatively small proportion of students in social-sciences and non-sciences - these fields are rife with personal bias and so are not appropriately relevant to the skills above. But even if they were, again, the fact that they are offered has no influence on the capacity of the students regarding those skills.

The argument isn't hinged on a logical fallacy; having an education in a STEM field objectively makes a person better at the above mentioned skills. Referencing the degree is merely a short-hand testament to a base of tools and experience (that conservatives comparatively lack) that qualify a thoughtful and logical person. It is surprising to me that this you do not understand this because it seems straightforward.

I agree with your assessment of the first group of liberals, but the second group you are incorrect about, and the second group for the most part. But you missed the third group, accurately portrayed as people of excess intelligence who bother explaining, but the explanation is often beyond the capability or willingness of people of lesser intelligence to comprehend; case in point, my use of the METAPHOR of the safe-space as a self-affirming suite of habits and circumstances that allows you to exist without challenging your own ideals, and thus growing and inevitably coming to your senses that while some liberal policies are bupkis, most are not, and the net positive impact is tremendous by comparison to conservative policy.

Those of us that fall into the last category are elitist because we are elite.

>>716279793
I'm assuming you meant projection. But, please attack my character more without refuting any of my points. See my point above about the metaphor.
>>
>>716279889
College != Intelligence

How can you possibly say that it does?
The only thing required for college is an overwhelming lack of ambition for keeping yourself out of debt.
If you want to make a point about the difference in intelligence between Hillary supporters and Trump supporters, try making a real argument. College lost any reputation it once had for being synonymous with intelligence years ago. As soon as it became associated with safe spaces, special snowflakes and gender studies degrees.

But then again, what's really the point? I mean, he's president whether you like it or not. I voted for Hillary myself because I believe she's more stable. I mean, she's basically Obama 2.0.
I didn't have to lie to myself or just go with a sweeping "All Trump supporters are inbred rednecks" to justify that.

Way to miss all the facts.

Russians were behind some email hacks that INFLUENCED the election. They didn't actually hack the polls nor the counting. So they did not, in fact, "hack the election." They did what they (and we) always do. They tried to influence the election.

The hacks only revealed embarrassing truths about the Democrats. They did not hack the results.

You're still not getting it. In your original post, you said nothing at all about what makes conservatives stupid (likewise, i said nothing about what makes liberals stupid). You simply CLAIMED that they're all stupid, and started citing college education as evidence. I DO agree with you that a college education is generally an indication of intelligence, obviously. It's still a logical fallacy to use "I'm smarter because..." as your argument. Google "appeal to authority" if you're unfamiliar with the concept.

Now, to illustrate my point: give me a specific argument against some aspect of the conservative agenda, and I promise you that I will successfully argue against it.

I'm not talking about college. I'm talking about graduate school. College is basic education.

I recognize he's president and I've not yet denied it. Additionally I'm more than willing to give him a chance; but the moment he starts instating regressive policies he should be ousted.

And further, I did not once say or imply what you suggest about conservatives. I generalized (doesn't feel good does it - see my point about the metaphor), which allows me to acknowledge that there are some within the group who are genuinely capable of the same level of thinking, but retains the fact that most are not, and that most who are are also not.

Coal and oil are fuels of the past. The US, as well as most if not all other nations among the world's greater powers are beginning the transition to renewables. Continued investment in, indeed reliance on fossil fuels will leave the USAmerica comparatively technologically retrded and make us vulnerable to usurpation as a global leader in almost anything that we lead the world in (which is very little, and has been since the end of the industrial era).

Putin hacked Podesta's email. He exposed the Clinton campaign's embarrassing emails (AKA exposing the truth). If anything, he's guilty of EDUCATING voters, not defrauding them.

Interesting Factoid:

Hillary may have won the popular vote by a margin of error after she gave up the race, but everyone calling Trump and his supporters racist are failing to realize that she still got less popular votes than Obama did in 2008 when running for the democratic nomination in 2008.

If Obama had the option of a Third term he would have won then also. No matter the outcome, everyone knows her for the monster she and her supporters are.

Really dude? This election is about oil to you? Well news flash: the world is not anywhere near done with oil. You are 100% right that we need to transition to a sustainable alternative as soon as possible, but you're delusional if you think that's an easy thing to accomplish.

There must be over 300 million cars in this country and you're talking about replacing all of them with technology that isn't remotely viable today. Don't believe me? Go buy a $100K Tesla, and make sure you don't drive too far from one of its few charging stations.

What you're talking about doesn't have shit to do with presidential elections, and certainly not THIS election. You're talking about a dream for America's future that's decades away.

As for your claim that America leads the world in "very little," im assuming you're basing that on those statistics your high school math teacher used to throw at you: "America is number __ in engineering," or "only __% of the world's top scientists come from America." I don't know anything about those statistics, but here's an undeniable truth about our influence. We are undeniably the cultural powerhouse og the Western world. The French, the Spanish, the British watch OUR movies in their theaters, far more than the other way around. Our military is the single most globally influential organization that has ever existed. We can launch a single B-52 with a strategic nuclear payload and it instantly becomes the 7th most powerful nation on Earth.

It's a popular thing to say that America is losing its influence, I get that. I'm sorry, that just isn't true.

We can't even stop smoking dude. We can't simply convince people to stop doing something that will literally kill them, because that's the power of habit and addiction.

Now you're talking about breaking an addiction that has been the backbone of global society for over a hundred years over the course of a four year presidential term.

We're not talking about ditching a pack of cigarettes here. We're talking about convincing people to dicth their $10K-$50K cars to buy $100K Teslas. That kind of transition logistically impossible to do in less time than decades.

For all your talk of being intellectually elite, I'm losing a lot of respect for you.

Our government can simply make new rules, similar to states with emission laws that slowly phase out certain cars. Make it so only electric cars can be created from now on, build a bunch of fuckin charging stations. Maybe even offer to trade in certain cars for electronic cars. The government has more than enough money to replace everyones car with gas-less. They dont HAVE to cost 100k.

You don't have to convince people, just phase them out and make it illegal to drive certain gas cars. Take out a bunch of gas stations, replace with charging stations. Once people HAVE to do something theyll be quick to choose it. Its really not that complicated.

lol have you seen teslas on the german autobahn?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8CgeT_qpB0
they arent made for that either, overheating in 5 minutes with very little highspeed

but if you drive on slow roads, they have a nice range for europe at least.

ATM the german car companys are working on roadways that can load the cars while driving which means unlimited range, but only in countries, that can afford to build them.

Emission laws happen on the manufacturing side, they aren't to sieze existing property from citizens. I agree that gradually increasing those laws on the manufactoring side and trying to encourage electric cars is the way to go- but guess what, that's happening right now.

Where you're going off the rails here is trying to rapidly enact this change. It's just impossible, dude. It's absolutely cartoonish to think that such a monumental change to the world could happen in such a short period of time. It demonstrates a complete disconnect with reality if you seriosly think what you're suggesting could happen in four, or eight, or even twelve years. When have you ever seen something like this happen?

You can't simply "make" people do it, and the government sure as hell can't fucking buy 300 million new cars.

I really hate to be a douche, but with every reply you make it more clear that you're actually one of those "case 1" liberals we discussed earlier. If you want to try with another topic, I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself. But this was fucking embarrassing.

1. batteries are actually harder on the environment to produce, require minerals that are scarcer and more complicated and destructive to mine and produce than fossil fuels. They don't have anything near the endurance that fossil fuels have either.

2. We don't *need* petroleum to make fuel so that's a bogus argument too. Fuel can be produced by just about anyone. Alcohol, diesel, Natural Gas etc.

Trying to legislate it will result in a nation that has no ability to mine, plant grow, harvest or transport *anything*. Just wait until the minerals required to produce consumable batteries become so scarce that a single battery would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to produce.

These same armchair experts seem to think that Tax dollars grow on tree's from a nation already trillions in debt.

This is another reason why Trump Won, and why the cabinet he's building is so damn important.

> If you want safety and independence from foreign influence, why do you defend against soviet-remnant influence?

Hm, seems like the government has no problem "making" people do all kinds of other unethical, illegal, bullshit.

It's really not that far fetched for the richest and "greatest" country to quickly change over their energy source.

I'm not saying it'll be over night, but it shouldn't take decades.

And you're right, I guess the government can't (now) buy 300 million cars... because theyve already spent that money blowing people up for the oil. Oh well, would have been nice, if we would have saved that money then they COULD have afforded to do that.

And did I even say replace all cars at once? No. They wouldn't have to replace 300 million cars at once. Hybrids and low emission cars could stay, but the gas guzzlers and out dated cars could be replaced.

Emission laws happen on the manufacturing side? I don't think Ford and GM are making laws since they're not lawmakers. Each year the allowable amount of emissions gets a little tougher. Just up that a bit more, so more cars phase out more quickly. And you could start by instantly banning all cars from, say, 1979 and earlier that don't have a modern, upgraded engine.

To think America can't fucking do this is absurd, all it takes is the will to do it. Corporate greed and government corruption won't allow it though until all the oil has been drained from earth and half the planet falls into fucking sink holes because of it.

Would take 10-15 years max to convert fully away from oil based cars.

>>716285673
yeah youre retarded. batteries cost more than oil, okay. i guarantee if we put money and effort towards refining the technology we'd find a much more efficient way to produce batteries. just because something exists as it is now, doesnt mean thats the only way to do it. look how far gas cars came in a very short amount of time, just a little scientific research should make battery production cheap and easy.

You lost any credibility when you declared Trump winning as a good thing.
>>
>>716284759
Jesus Christ, political policy is far more complex than that, especially regarding the corruption that runs through the shit. I know from a practical objective standpoint point that the solution is simple, but politics is more than just a bunch of random rules. It's a convergence point for our entire society, overtaking control in areas of culture, finance, philosophy, war, religion, science, and god knows what else. You can't just add fucking rules like thatunless you want to live in a primarily socialist society, and in those societies, individuality rooted ethics take a back seat.

First, I should address a misunderstanding:
>"emission laws happen on the manufacturing side"
I mean that the government enacts them to target the manufacturers. AKA, your new vehicle line must meet these specifications. That's how emission laws work. They don't fucking confiscate people's cars.

Now, see the post below yours. You have a childlike view of the world.

Notice that I don't even dissagree with what you're trying to accomplish, I'm arguing with you about HOW you think it should be accomplished, which is insane.

I can't keep arguing about this, I'm sorry. I'll leave you with this: you truly are an idiot. And you've proven to me that you're not half as smart as you think you are.

You could have picked ANY topic to impress me with. Why did you pick a topic that you're so fucking obviously clueless about? I mean you can't have seriously believed that you would look smart here.

The fact that you believe that this is your most coherently realized opinion makes me think you're even dumber than you've demonstrated here.
