I've met one person, ONCE, in real life who said 'I consider myself to be a member of the alt-right' and it was a party back in October.

I meet the dude once a year at the same mutual-friend's birthday thing. Last year we spoke and he was all antsy and anxious about religious extremism and stuff and I agreed with him, and said there's become a serious problem with political correctness etc.

ONE YEAR goes by and he's now a full-on raging neckbeard. He's using terms like 'shit-posting' and 'SJW' in real life: I had NEVER heard anyone actual say 'SJW' out-loud in real life.
He then said 'I want to get a t-shirt that says 'Alt-Right' on it!' and then started talking a load about all sorts of conspiracy theories and stuff. I actually said to him then 'you need to be careful about the rabbit-holes you're leading yourself down dude...' and he kinda laughed and said 'yeah' like he knew he was kinda willfully being brainwashed.

So, i realized i was talking to an intelligent, successful dude (seriously has a good job in vidya, owns a nice house in a VERY expensive locale, but crucially - DOESN'T HAVE A WOMAN TO KEEP HIS SHIT IN CHECK) who started out with some legit concerns about society, then ends up spending ALL his free-time on the internet and ends up getting turned into a total weirdo.

It was fucking weird. It really is like talking to someone who has joined a cult. Seriously a little scary.

I have no problems witha hawk in power though. The problem with Trump is that he is far too easily led by those around him. He is too weak to be in power and he will just be used for speaking engagements and presidential arm waving whilst those with actual political clout run the country into the ground.

And wars? I will bet you any money at all that those with real power around Trump will instigate another major war in order to boost his flagging presidential approval come the midterms.

This is of course not taking into account of Trump blundering diplomatically before that.

Finally the real fear is of course that Trump will stand by and do nothing as Russia cashes in on US weakness abroad and reasserts their dominance in eastern europe, destabilizing europe to the point that it becomes an irrelelvant political entity and annexes the baltic states.
