Am about to watch The Departed because I heard a lot of good

Am about to watch The Departed because I heard a lot of good things from it, and I've seen it posted in mentioned in multiple God Tier Movies threads, but I need a few more supposedly "God Tier" Movies to watch afterwards.

God Tier Movies thread, but honestly, I'd prefer you guys to post lists of movie titles instead of movie poster images, but whatever. I'll start with mine.

>Interstellar
>The Iceman
>The Dark Knight
>Whiplash
>Doctor Strange (I was thoroughly impressed by the visual effects, and the upbringing of Doctor Strange as a hero I enjoyed watching, so it went on my list)
>Ip Man
>Ip Man 2

All I could recall from memory, sorry.
>>
shameless selfbump
>>
I thougnt the ending was pretty stupid.
Usual suspects
Inside man
Inception
Suicide kings
Oldboy (orginal)
>>
Just watched Black Snake Moan. Pretty great movie in my opinion.
>>
>>715627212
Inception is on my personal list, but it gets a lot of backlash so I don't mention it often.
>>
>>715626825
I loved The Departed, one of my all time favs, others are:

>Scarface
>Shutter Island
>The Prestige
>Memento

Will add more if I think of any.
>>
>>715626825
I really could never get into this movie. It wasn't bad but it's literally an American Version of infernal affairs. It works but I always felt like it's missing something.

I was going to say Oldboy for a God tier movie but someone got there before me so I'll go with Sympathy For Lady Vengeance.
>>
>>715627361
I enjoy a few actors no matter what their roles. Leo DiCap, Miles Teller, Chris Pratt, the guy that plays Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, Joseph Gordon Levitt, but my point is, Sam Jackson's entertaining as hell.

That reminds me of another movie on my list because I mentioned Joseph Gordon Levitt.
>Snowden
>>
>>715626825
movies that require subtitles are not god tier
>>
>>715627654
I saw The Prestige on a whim while browsing a God Tier movies list in the past and loved it. The twist in the end is what sold me to put that movie on my personal list.
>>
>>715627995
I can't disagree with you more, buddy. I have the capability to enjoy something that isn't in my language. Don't you?
>>
>>715627212
>suicide kings
muh nig.jpg
>>
>>715628223
Nope. If I cant understand it just by hearing it, whats the point? Movies were made to be heard, sometimes even watched, and never to be read.

>>
>>715626825

I do recommend watching The Departed OP, it's actually a really well directed film with excellent acting imo.
Some in my Personal list:

>Inception
>The Departed (Probably my favourite movie of his)
>Pulp Fiction
>Mulholland Drive
>The Nice Guys
>Ocean's 11
>>
>>715628079
I'm not much of a movie buff but that movie is something else.
>>
>>715627654
Prestige and shutter island are def two good ones!
>>
>>715628676
Pulp fiction isndef on the list

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Children of Men
>>
>>715629249
Django Unchained
>>
>>715627391

>>
The Departed was great, but my friends from Boston say Leo and others didn't do the accent right.

>Black Hawk Down
>Heat
>Burn After Reading
>Interstella 5555
>Apocalypse Now
>The Thin Red Line
>>
>>715629345
I saw literally one scene from that movie while my father enjoyed the hell out of it. Gonna give it a try after The Departed.
>>
>>715626825
>A Clockwork Orange
>Pink Floyd the Wall
>the Big Lebowski
>Cross of Iron
>Dr.Strangelove
>Starship Troopers (only the 1st one)
>Trainspotting
>>
>>715626825
Yeah man the departed is a terrific film... lots of dark humor in it too you get a good laugh out of some of the characters, especially Jack Nicholson
>>
>>715627814
Yea i agree with samuel l jackson love most of his movies.
>>
>>715628676
props for Oceans 11...
lot of snobs write it off (why, Clooney?) but I can never figure it out.
I think it's a beautifully made movie, entertaining, well edited, smartly written/adapted...

GOD TIER (for you little young faggots)

>Lawrence of Arabia
A Man's Movie about Men. Even though Lawrence gets raped by the Turkish Bey...

>The Man Who Fell To Earth
Bowie at his best. Sure he was a Faggot IRL too, but he also fucked black chicks.

>Seven Beauties
Giancarlo Gianini in one of the most ironic movies ever made - faggots.

>The Innocent
Laura Antonelli - the ONLY reason you need. Instant Diamonds. Jesus Fuck...

>Fitzcarraldo
Klaus Kinski depicting the tale of Sisyphus almost literally, which is analogous to the quest most Autists on 4chan have finding a girlfriend...

Watch those, and be informed. Impress whatever greasy-haired lesbi woman you meet for latte in the quad with how "worldly" you are...

Not bait. They weren't. If you can't enjoy a movie while watching, playing, reading, or talking to something else what the fuck is the point. If I can't drive to work with a movie on because I can't fucking understand it without reading it whats the god damn point.
>>
>>715632898

Don't listen to this guy, one of the reasons The Departed is one of my favorite movies of all time is because it wastes absolutely no time. Every scene and action in the movie provides depth or is consequential, it's honestly perfect.

Young Frankenstein is god tier in that genre, I'd say. Not overall, but Mel Brooks is one of the (if not THE) best at that shit.

And yeah. Like the genius who posted "movies aren't meant to be read".

Granted, I prefer movies in color, because it's shiny and shit, but there are some B&W types that definitely stand out. Only reason I even know about Metropolis is someone was streaming it late at night and it caught my attention, but damn, did it catch it. One of the best examples of show not tell.

It's a tie with me between Snatch and Rock n Rolla... I can watch those movies anytime. Mark Strong is awesome. Plus, there's Thandie Newton to look at. Just about the only black chick I would fuck without question.
>>
>>715640277
>it's a shame more people didn't see it
No need, if you have seen snatch and lock stock then you have already seen rock n rolla.
>>
>>715640819
Same genre, and similar in the fact that it's multiple groups competing for the same thing, sure. Same movie? Na.
>>
>>715640819
The best thing about Snatch is Bricktop. That dude is awesome. Too bad Ritchie didn't make a movie all about him.
"Punish him for me, Errol.."
>>
>>715626825

The Thing
Pulp Fiction
Watchmen
No Country for Old Men
Skyfall

Saving Private Ryan
The Shawshank Redemption
Back to the Future

Looks like that's next on my list then
>>
>>715641367
Some of the best films ever made were done in foreign languages. These autists who want English Dubbing are mongoloids.
>>
>>715641133

Watchmen? Is that a typo? Holy shit.
>>
>>715641501
I'll admit, it can't hold a candle to the novel, but if you don't take that into account it's a kickass movie.
>>
>>715641401
Good call, anon. You'll enjoy it. Has a nice twist in it too.

"I'm not locked in here with YOU. YOU'RE locked in here with ME!!"
Great fucking line.

Bro, I think you dropped your fedora at hot topic while you were trying to sway the overly obese female beluga, you know the one with pink dread locks and trip pants. You should probably go back and get it before people find your mlp gone wild (hoofs are tied on this one) website username and password.

Just thought I'd let you know bro.

Also, your list is totally unique.

Same plot
British criminals get their hilarious shenanigans mixed up with other criminals who blame it on other criminals
It's like Britbong Needful Things but without the devil
>>
>>715641494
Exactly. Spirited away has a 10/10 on quite a few rating sites, and it's done in a language that's not the native language for millions of people.

I'd like to believe he was just shitposting
>>
>>715641729
Not like you're any better.
Don't forget where you are.

His giant blue cock is distracting
If he is so smart then why does he not have enough self-awareness to wear a fucking loin cloth?
>>
>>715641738
Speaking of movies NOT done in "english" - what about Apocalypto? Mel Gibson is some kind of mad genius - who happens to fuck all the wrong women, but don't we all...? kek.
>>
>>715641892
Because he wants everyone to see his Giant Blue Cock, I guess... Or else Zack decided to shock the ladies in the audience...

The Road

But you wouldn't understand.

I'm a fan of the movie shooter (also Mark Wahlberg). It's not quite god tier, but it's on now (maybe 20 minutes in on A&E).

>Ip Man
>Ip Man 2

Watch Cloud Atlas sometime as well. Super long but worth it.

Leo's character wasn't from the part of Boston that has the accent so it wasn't really meant to sound right. And Wahlberg and Damon are from Boston so there isn't a problem with theirs, but Nicholson on the other hand...

Fucker didn't even try.
