Asmodus Minikin 160w is a good choice, small dual 18650 mod.

Small, I'd go for a iStick Pico (though you'd be limited to 22mm attys). 80w and small, I'd go for a Mega Volt (if you dont mind internal batteries), or if you want high wattage go for an RX2/3 (if you dont mind looking like a sheep)

The Segelei J150 and J80 have built in Lipo batteries. They charge super fast a last a good amount of time. Vaping at 100 watts with my Clieto 120 gets me 2 and 1/2 days of solid use. But then again, that depends on your vaping habits.

The Lost Vape I mentioned uses a single 18650.

Honestly I really enjoy mechanical mods but they're pretty pricey for authentic ones. Honestly a 150W box mod is an awesome start. When i was starting out i preferred using tanks but RDA's are definitely better in terms of customization and stronger hits.

RDAs are cheaper in the long run since you dont have to buy premade coils, the flavor is better and you can make any coil to ohm out to anything without buying seperate coils for it. There is a learning curve with them though, and you have to drip your juice onto the coil when you start to run out so it is a bit inconvenient. Tanks are very convenient, and easy as plug-and-play, you just need to make sure your premade coil is ready before you vape, fill your tank and vape until it's dry. The flavor is still good, but nothing beats an RDA. You just need to know what you're doing with an RDA- or all of vaping in general. I'd go for a tank if you're a first timer, since it's much easier maintenance but once you're ready, when you move to RDAs/RTAs you'll never go back to a tank once you know what to do.

I understand your friend has a good deal on his mech, but you want to buy a -regulated- device. I don't feel comfortable letting someone new using a mech mod, or RDAs. Regulated devices like the RX2/3, the Alien, etc. are what you want. They're cheap and will get you vaping without worrying about anything other than putting your juice in the tank, charging your batteries and setting the wattage to the recommended wattage as per the manafacturer.

Yep. This absolutely. But it's really more of a "advanced" thing, you know what I mean? I started on mechs and it took me a while before I understood all of its intricacies. It's not hard, just time-consuming for a new timer. Now, it's much easier with regulated box mods and you can be a retard and still use one. It doesn't mean you're stupid for not using a mech- hell, I don't bring my mech out anymore since I enjoy regulated mods so much more (TC and all that jazz). Yeah, they are. You can buy a Smok Alien kit (just look it up) that includes the mod AND the tank for about 60 bucks. You'd need to buy the batteries seperately though, probably will run you an extra 12 bucks on Illumn dot com or IMRBatteries. After that though, all you need is juice and you're done. Learning curve is so small and will give you just about the same vape experience.

It's a lot better for the batteries if you charge them using a proper charger. USB charging tend to degrade the life span of the batteries. Even if the mod has close to perfect balance charging, it's still better to use a charging bay.

USB charging is best for devices with lipos, or as a emergency choice if your out and about without a charging bay for your batteries.

The eGo batteries where good when they came out, but if you want something that's similar to a cigarette I'd suggest a iStick iCare, or a Joyetech eGo AIO. Don't let the ego in the name fool you, and dont let the low prices of the two fool you, these two are amazing products and I guarantee you'll never touch a stinky again. You are going to be coughing it up for the first week or two when you start to vape. It's because vaping causes your lungs to expand, while smoking cause them to contract.

The expansion from vaping basically is a shock to your lungs, because they aren't use to it. So for a while you are going to cough, along with coughing from not smoking and all that tar loosening up and getting coughed out.

But trust me, I use to smoke a pack a day too, you will get over it and won't have any issues.

The best advice I can give you is to try a device that produces less vapor. I don't know too much about things like that. You should check out a local vape shop for some help.

I have spent over $100 on Vape equipment in juices and no matter what I do I cough like a mother fucker. Even if I put the VG higher than the PG or all VG it doesn't make a difference.

If I use something that has 0 nicotine with my crappy regular battery and tank it goes down but even then I get kind of light-headed.

Most use Juice that is high VG for the cloud.
I smoked for a long time and had to use high PG for the throat hit.
Also, dark juice is old and the nicotine has oxidized which makes it harsh.

Also, you will cough- there is a learning curve. Have you ever hit a bong? You hit your vape exactly like that, depending on if the coil is under 1 ohm which is most of them. This is the case for the Alien- Just hit it like a bong and I don't think you'll cough.

You are going to save major bank every month. Even with buying ejuice, coils, and maybe some accessories (like car charger, extra batter pack, and so on).

The initial first purchase is the most expensive. But in the long run, you are going to save so much money. I actually picked up the habit of eating out at a bunch of different fancy restaurants, because I have the money now to do ti every week. And I still have money to spend on whatever I want.

Mods are the thing that you hold that you put the batteries in. You put tanks on top of them, and tanks are what you put your mouth on.

I wouldn't normally recommend mods with removable batteries to newbies, but the smok alien kit really is a nice bit of hardware.
I'd suggest getting that, an external charger and 4 reputable 18650 batteries such as the LG HG2s.

Read up on battery safety including safe usage and storage and also please please please familiarize yourselves with ohms law.
