Jellenheimers started off as one artists failed attempt at drawing foals. However, some liked how they look and started calling them Jellenheimers.

Within the various head canons, they started out as the original mutant cannibal.

Later on, when artists started making cannibal fluffies (fluffies that looked like regular fluffies but with sharp/predator teeth and, sometimes, multiple rings in the iris of the eyes), people started using Jellenheimers more for weirdbox stuff and giving them psychic powers and other weird things.
