What is the point of masonry?

Masons are not allowed to solicit members (at least not in California). Contact the Lodge you're interested in and find out when their stated meeting (Lodge business) is. That's the best time to meet the brethren.

Expense depends from Lodge to Lodge. I know a Lodge that is about $200-something a year.

Fellow college student here that is a 3rd degree MM. Most lodges have business hours so just contact them and they will help you start off on your journey. Its not very expensive. Maybe 150 a year at most. I have seen some as low as 30 a year. Last bit of advice, be yourself and make sure you know why you want to do it. Its not for everyone. Dont hesitate to ask me speciics

I'm an apprentice right now and I find it hard for me to want to progress or continue. The whole lodge is just old people and other than their monthly meetings they do nothing. Also they want me to learn long form which is a bitch because I hardly have time to have my tutor help me decipher the stuff.
