mason/b/ros - I am considering joining the FM, however I have some questions. 1. do I just contact the lodge? any advice? 2. is it expensive? I am just a student 3. any other good info/advice? thanks. also /mason/ thread
>>
>>673363342
You have to have a current member sponsor you. It's not expensive. They will ask you if you believe in a higher power, you are required to say yes. Mason's mostly do charity work in their communities. There is nothing illuminati it.

If you're interested, call them. They're incredibly nice for the most part. Good luck.
>>
>>673363812
So I need to know one of them? Already checked their websites, not sure if active, last updates in 2010
>>
>>673364051
Mason's are active almost everywhere. Every city, college town, etc. call your local, tell them you're interested. Get yourself invited to check things out. At that point you can meet people and make a good impression. One of them will sponsor you.
>>
>>673364539
Well, thanks
>>
What is the point of masonry?
>>
Masons are not allowed to solicit members (at least not in California). Contact the Lodge you're interested in and find out when their stated meeting (Lodge business) is. That's the best time to meet the brethren.

Expense depends from Lodge to Lodge. I know a Lodge that is about $200-something a year.

I knew some people that were students that joined and they dropped out before they became Fellowcrafts.
>>
joining the lodge was the best decision I've ever made
>>
>>673365223
This
>>
>>673363812
>Mason's mostly do charity work in their communities
>mostly
if they were just a charity organization The catholic church wouldnt have made a ban on any of their members of joining them.
>>
>>673366507
is that still banned? also many catholics join freemasons
>>
>>673366654
i doubt they are catholic at that point
>>
Why do you want to join?
>>
The Catholic Church bans Masonry mainly because of the way Masons don't require you to be of any one specific religion. In the Catholic faith, it's either their God or no God.
>>
>>673366507
You're retarded
>>
>>673363342
About to join a North Carolina Masonic lodge. My dad and all my uncles are in it. Great organization to be apart of.
>>
>>673367242
This. Mason's just want to know you accept something higher than you. They don't ask you to define it.
>>
>>673367439
and you worship satan
>>
>>673367646
I don't worship anything you simple mong
>>
Perks of joining? I hear it's just useful for when traveling you can get deals from other masons, etc.

I was sort of invited but wasn't interested at the time.
>>
>>673368254
if you dont then you are a cattle led to the slaughter. those who does are laughing at you.
>>
>>673363342
It is Friend to a Friend so get to know someone who wears a lodge ring. I do not think it is expensive because a lot of construction guys I know, tradesmen like plumbers are part of the local lodge. I honestly have no idea what they do though

Those who does? Kek

Why the fuck would anyone want to join that shit
>>
>>673369001
Eh, I might join. It's in my family, my great grand dad was apparently very high up.

I really don't get it. I think it used to be something pretty special but now they let any moron in. Apparently even girls are allowed in now, what the fuck.
>>
>>673370596
Nope. No women.
>>
What is the goal of freemasons...salomon temple...etc ?
>>
>>673363342
Welcome to the Illuminati. Please leave your soul at the door.
>>
Actually, they are selective. You need to know and get signatures from two Master Masons, background check (in most grand lodges) and pass an investigating committee who gets to know you and your family.

We guard the West Gate.
>>
>>673371145
Guard the west gate mean?
>>
>>673371145
So they go and talk to your family? My parents are conspiracy theorists, so it might shock them. Wrote an email to my local lodge.. Hope they reply
>>
>>673371145
>and your family
You believe in guilt by association?
>>
>>673371380
Its a israhell thing you wont understand?
>>
>>673371380

Who doesn't? Seriously.
>>
>>673371566
Good people
>>
>>673371308
We don't expect perfect people, only those who wish to improve and gain further light.
>>
TFW you've been recruited by freemasons both IRL and URL and you turn then down because you already know the truth.
>>
>>673371807
So.. They will reply for sure? I didnt include my name, just initials.. Dunno how would my family feel if they knew I wanted to join. Grandparents would be pissed for sure
>>
Fellow college student here that is a 3rd degree MM. Most lodges have business hours so just contact them and they will help you start off on your journey. Its not very expensive. Maybe 150 a year at most. I have seen some as low as 30 a year. Last bit of advice, be yourself and make sure you know why you want to do it. Its not for everyone. Dont hesitate to ask me speciics
>>
>>673371837
If you are recruited by a "Freemason" then he is not one. Freemasons never recruit.
>>
>>673372008
But I want to, so thats important
>>673371807
>>
>>673372058

What does it involve?

Why is it not for everyone?
>>
>>673363342
FMA>FM
>>
>>673372058
Do I have to kill something? (sacrifice)

I'm not down for that.
>>
>>673372135
Blood orgies.
>>
>>673372058
Well, I was hesitant at first because I don't know how my family would react plus I am from Slovakia and am not sure if the lodges here are active, because they only have some old looking websites. So I wrote an email today, told them why I want to join, basically because of my interest in the subject matter and that I like to meet new people and improve. Signed it with my initials, wasn't sure about including my name.
>>
>>673372008
You will likely not be contacted as your approach is questionable. Initials? Yeah, good luck with that.

Be upfront about your intentions. Are you a free man? Or your parent's or grandparent's slave?
>>
>>673366507
>The catholic church wouldnt have made a ban on any of their members of joining them.
catholic masons do exist but they are mason 1st catholic 2nd and they just don't tell the church that they are in a secret organization.
>>
>>673372219
Haha nope. You just have to sacrifice some of your time and a little money.
>>673372135
Some work. Easy work that most college students are used too. ITs not for everyone because some people dont want to put the time into it.
>>673372344
Im sure they will get back to you. Dont worry about putting your name.
>>
>>673372440
I am just not that keen on sharing my info through the internet like that. If I were to meet someone in person though..

Where's a lodge in Sydney?

I don't mind putting time and money in if I see results.
>>
>>673370734
that sucks, only fags like surrounded by dudes, I bet they begin every meeting with gay sex
>>
>>673372598
Send an email to your grand lodge or visit a local lodge. Ask to have coffee with a brother.
>>
Still, why is it interesting to join besides doing charity work? I can do that without joining. I only want to join if I get to go to bohemian Grove and sacrifice small children in front of a giant owl.
>>
>>673372069
Hey that's not true I've been in construction for 15 years and been asked about 30 time to join cause I have been taught the sacred truth or ancient craft
>>
>>673372069
they do if you have family members who are in it
>>
>>673372450
yeah apparently there are masons high in the church hierarchy.
>>
>>673372762
No idea, Im from the US. Check your Grand Lodges website. They should have a list of every lodge.

Guarding the gate mean maybe financial activity of relation with flooding the continent with subhumans shit!
>>
I'm an apprentice right now and I find it hard for me to want to progress or continue. The whole lodge is just old people and other than their monthly meetings they do nothing. Also they want me to learn long form which is a bitch because I hardly have time to have my tutor help me decipher the stuff.

What should I do to make my experience better?
>>
Catholic punishment for being a Mason used to be excommunication. Now they just say you can't take any of the sacraments.

The consequences will never be the same.
>>
>>673363342
Ooga booga masons I want to be mysterious please I am lord snowflake I want curry favors and free women.
>>
>>673373823
Just go in say your have an interest in joining and that you would like a petition. The petition will be your first step. You will need to get signatures from 2 master masons. Ask them when they might be having a dinner or open lodge meeting and attend it. Get to know people and get those signatures

>>
>>673374460
Right, good on you. You hear hear hear me hear hear things, I hear.
>>
>>673374042
Perhaps that particular lodge is not right for you. Take your degrees, become a Master and visit other lodges. You may find another to your liking.
>>
I was starting my company and I kept talking about changing the world. Someone I was at a party with when I was dropping him home invited me.

I also got two invitations from the elks lodge.
>>
>>673375756
Yes, yes, good. They want their hands in all ambitious companies. The network grows larger. The hand reaches farther.
>>
If you join, also be prepared to deal with A LOT of elitists. There are a bunch of Masons I know who don't consider you a TRUE Mason until you join the Scottish Rite and the York Rite.
>>
>>673375908
Not Even.
>>
>>673376040
Both?
>>
The fluffy abuse thread is kicking your ass.
>>
>>673376376
Yeah. At least the ones I knew.

I waited until 4 years after I became a Master Mason to join the Scottish Rite. I might join the York Rite later this year or next year.

The funny thing is, most of them don't even have a Traveller's Card.
>>
>>673376738
I thought that you can only join one
>>
Silly boys club.
>>
>>673374042
This is why I think becoming a Mason while being in school is a bad idea. It's sometimes very hard to work around a school schedule.

You might want to explain your situation to the Worshipful and see if you can do the short form.
>>
>>673376738
have they forbid you to speak of something they have taught you?
>>
>>673376904
Nope. You can join both.
>>
>>673377214
Oh.. Ok. And what are the differences between the two?
>>
>>673377159
Everyone takes an oath to not reveal the secrets.

Honestly, they're not even crazy or awesome secrets. Regardless, I took an oath and I stand by it.
>>
>>673377310
Aside from titles (top tier of Scottish Rite is 32 Degree and top tier of York Rite is Knight's Templar) I don't know. Like I said, I am only in the Scottish Rite right now.
>>
>>673377472
protip: at the level you are at you just dont realize the importance of those secrets. they make them intentionally obscure.
>>
>>673377684
I'm talking more about how conspiracy theorists make Masonry sound. All the crazy things they say the secrets stand for.
>>
>>673377684

the people they want to see at the top have special qualities so you might apply yourself as hard as you can and still not get there.

oh well

are any of them high up in the hierarchy ?

>>673363342

>>673384602
i have a hunch those Prince Hall Masons are useless.
