Storyline was worth the shitty gameplay 8/10
The white phosphorus mision fucked me up a little
My favorite thing about videogames are the storylines.
IMO: No game has ever topped the storyline of FFX.
Probably one of the most immersive, especially for an adaptation.
Motha fuckin dwarf fortress adventure mode. Randomly generated lore everytime you create a new world. Try and play it I fucking dare you. Autistic savants make the best coders
Even if there were a lot of plotholes and the storyline was kind of simplistic I fucking loved it. Point Lookout DLC was also the tits.
Also adding Legacy of Kain series
any generous anons here? poor fag here looking for a key to Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition.
The story line is actually really deep if you see the web comic lab-rat, the connection between portal 1 and 2 becomes more clear, also the whole concept of an AI taking over control of humans is though inducing
This one. I actually liked Chrono Cross a bit more that CT.
Story & characters are a solid 10/10. Gameplay, duration and music are 11/10.
Sorry but If i spent countless hours to be trolled in the pinnacle of my decisions by a shitty cop out
"Choose color Durp di durp" and " I sent robots to kill u so ur robots dont kill u"
Is parallel to a line from another good video game Borderlands 2
Mr. Torgue "KEEP KILLING THESE BANDITS SO THEY WONT GET KILLED BY POISON BEER!"
If something is not in a game, that doesn't matter.
If i write a book and then 10 years later i say some guy is gay, i am a bad writer. Was it in the important medium? No, then it is not important, basics of storytelling;
You should go and masturbate to your quasi alt. hipster artsy thought provoking shit.
If i am forced to google for hours to understand why I did all the things in a game, that that GAME FAILS AT TELLING ME A STORY.
DS is all about me being a swaggy motherfucker that kills enemies. And there is a plot they didn't bother to explain. And fuck you faggot.
Imma publish a book, its gonna be empty pages.
Fags like you gonna go "OMG SO GOOD DEEP STORY BEST EVER DUUR"
worth buying; its less a game more of a choose your own adventure short story with some good writing
>tfw never experienced the original shit ending
If lore is a flavor text on an item, than its a fucking fail. Flavor text is always meant to deepen the information readily available. Not to become something that should be readily available cus its not. Its forcing me to find all hiden stuff so i can justify my actions. Its lazy cop out and they are doing it for the 4th time now and retarded kids are hyped.
It amazes me.
If u wanna see what story is, play 5 games of Legacy of Kain.
I thought Space Marine had a nice story, if you follow the 40k universe. Decent gameplay until the copout quicktime event final boss.
4chan is full retard
Please for the sake of all the good games, don't ever post in.... leave internet.
I dont mind shitty gameplay if the story is well put and non casual retarded.
For instance BIoshock: Infinite was a shit game compared to first two games (Even if BSh2 was weaker, it completed BSH1)
But BSH:I had a great story and I managed to digest a crappy gameplay to it's story.
The warcraft universe has a great story thats completely flipped through and bastardized in the MMO. the books are mostly well written, especially the most recent "War Crimes" book
i actually started WoW for the WC 1 2 3 storyline. IMO richest in-depth eventline of all games. Dragon Age is good too, and i loved all 3 bioshocks.
people who shit on these games are latte drinking indie-game lovers. So would you kindly shut up?
You don't get to choose anything, except the various endings. Oh boy, what fun. I wouldn't have a problem with it if they weren't such false-advertising cocks about it. There's almost 0 choice in this game which it's SUPPOSED to be about. It all ends up the same just like the shitty conclusion to the Mass Effect series.
No, they still stick to the lore in the mmo. I'm assuming you used to play but don't anymore. When you did/if you do, you probably weren't/aren't playing to experience all of the lore because if you did/do you'd realize. That's wrong, you fucking retard.
Trayarch muthafucking ZOMBIES
>a fresh take on tower defense genre
>story that spans 3 timelines
>characters that were fun to play as
>great drinking game
>was mostly dlc content
>took 3 games to finish the story (WaW, BO, Bo2)
>a piece of the time line wasn't explained (the heroes with the original staffs of elements)
>Cost me over 200$ (game plus dlc)
All in all I was not disappointed at all with its story
Thank you trayarch for a great zombie mode
I hope AW isn't a complete let down with its zombies story
>we've got this notion,
>that we'd quite like to sail the ocean,
>so we're building a big boat to leave here for good!
Loved 1 & 2
4 looks too console-ish, but will try someday
yeah i agree, the first bioshock was by far my favorite depiction of a dystopian society in any work of art. i dont care if its loosely based on rayndian philosophy which to some degree wold classify it as a by-product of someone else's dystopia, it put 1984 to shame for me. the fact that its combat mechanics were godawful is insignificant compared to the storyline it put onto the market.
ive been playing since beta, currently 9/10mythic. while I don't play for the lore as much as I used to its easy to see that since WoTLK the story has been going down the toilet. WoD has been good so far. excited to see what happens in the next tiers
>what is not having a valid reason to back up an opinion
pretty much any of the fire emblems really..but my personal fav has got to be Sacred stones.
You guys dont know a good storyline even if it hit you in the face
I don't know man, the story for Skyrim was kinda meh if we're talking about the main story. Skyrim was great for the vast number or stories and, with mods, the possibility of more. The number of player made DLC stories is nuts, along with the amount of replay value the game offers.
Bioshock infinite the gameplay is meh but the story is devine one of my favorites
>btw i know its not the box art for the game i just found this one more appealing
yep skyrim story sucks
>oh no big ancient dragon wants to eat the world
>let's resurrect this old order that fought dragons
>no go kill the dragon
geez. if it didn't have all these "forced to wait" moments (the council at high hrothgar holy shit) it would have taken 30 minutes at best
Plot is essential to being a main part of an RPG. What you call not coddling, I call failure as a game. Example, if I read a book, I'm not going to pry under the dust jacket for some hidden clue as to what the bloody fuck is going on. The plot in DS was an afterthought at best.
Took you a good while to muster that one up buddy boy, your keyboard courage is unwavering. I'm not half-assed trolling telling you to "stay mad" i'm calling it how it is. Summerfag. <3
Can't believe no one mentioned this gem of a game even if the gameplay was repetitive the story was phenomenal, and dat plot twist.
It was great back then, being a PS1 game n' shit.
I personally think it should've been a PS2 game, it could've been even more amazing.
The original Dark Souls.
You also can't magically pretend that the meal u were eating was good untill u realized the center of it was pig shit. U were eating something that was always going to turn into shit. After I played ME3 I never wanted to replay it. WHy? Experience great two games only to be shat on in the third? No thnx. Its shit.
>captcha : hedon
Sanitarium was nice, though at some point it become a little tiring.
you know there was a time when a storyline could be good without allowing someone to alter it. like you know, every book... but i suppose your bookshelf is lined with these. (pic related)
fucking underrated post
>no silent hill
Especially Silent Hill 2 was the best story combined with atmospheric horror ever made you will never find anything similar. Nothing comes even close to this classic.
