Alas, his liver problems would have killed him whatever we tried. He's been given treatment already and it didn't work, hence me going to put him down tomorrow.

about 8 years ago my cat had the same symptoms. we took her to several veterinarians
but they hadnt found anything.

she lost weight and had less and lesser energy
the last days we fed her with some sort of energy paste for cats.

at that point we jnew its gonna end with her so i kept with her the whole night, brought my blanket down lay her close to me and cared her until i passed out for the night. the next day a mobile veterinary came by giving her the peace she needed. wasnt good... she spasmed and saw red welow slime coming out if her mouth. venerinary said it must have been some sort of lungcancer.

i never spoke to someone about it... still hurting :(

I just lost my grey guy (pic related) in July. He was nine as well, after being my first friend when I moved out on my own. I finally made it into a house, started letting him adventure outside (he always used to run out on me anyway), convinced myself it was the right thing to do despite anxiety about cars... and then he was hit/run over. A neighbor saw a taxi go over his head. And it didn't kill him, just crushed half his skull and popped out one eye. Had to take him to be put down. I cried every morning for a couple months. He used to wake me up every morning. He was my chirpy cat, he purred so hard he chirped.

I would advise against that, especially as he could choke since he's not responding. Keep your head up OP, this is the hardest part, I know that appointment can't cone enough. Just enjoy your last moments with him. Keep talking to him like I said before, and stay in sight. You both will get through this. As an update, he woke up and immediately started making pained whimpers and started having spasms.

I think i'm going to end it for him, it seems he's not tripping like we thought.
Shall update on what happens.

My cat Zoe died at 15 years old, got him when I was 5,

Anyway he had liver problems as well, took him about 3 weeks to die and during those 3 weeks he got skinnier and skinnier, would drink a shit ton of water, but wouldn't eat.
Long story short he sat like Rusty did for 2 days before I took him to the vet and had him put down. Rusty could live a while man. He'd be better off if you took him to the vet now and had him put down. Or as soon as possible anyway.

I have been there OP. When I put my Stubby down, I made sure I was softly petting her, quietly telling her how much of a good girl she is and how happy she made us all fee. I didn't break eye contact with her. I sat with her in my arms when the vet gave her the shot, never breaking eye contact. When she went limp, her eyes became vacant and I knew she was gone. I cried alone in the room, no family or friends around us. I sat with her for sometime and left. It felt so wrong to leave her. She'll always be my favorite.

Pet him gently and tell him how much he meant to you. He knows how much you loved him.

He's dead, Jim.

He woke up and had constant spasms, he was in a lot of pain.

I found a cord and held it around his neck, I counted at least 5 minutes to make sure I held it for enough time.

I didn't want him to be in pain until I could get him to the vets, I saw no other way to do it.

He's out of his misery now, it might not have been the most pleasant way, but he's gone now.

It was the quickest way I could think of doing it.
He passed out quickly, I just had to hold it because the brain can't go without oxygen for more than 5 minutes mostly. I didn't want to fuck it up and leave him alive after it.

I didn't enjoy the experience, I wish I didn't have to do it.
