Buckaroo Banzai was a fucking epic movie, but it seems to be a love it or hate it type film.
Have to go with all the Cheech Chong flicks
for all time "CULT" clasics..
>pic simi related, only one I have saved.
parasites turn people in an apartment complex into rapists
the remake sucked major dick
back when you rented a movie in the store based on it's cover
Everybody needs to see the Class of Nuke Em High trilogy
They are so perfect for a B-Movie night
It doesnt get much better than this
No Phantasm yet?!
If you think Ichi's good you should get a load of this one
I think it may have had a different name in the states. Had the biggest crush on Jennifer Connely as a kid... who am i kidding i still do
This is my absolute favorite B horror film ever, its really great.
the better and orginal version of hunger games
oh god, I just watched all 9 of them in the span of 3 days....why the fuck would you subject your self to that. 1 and 2 were good, 3 was shit, 4 was....maybe the worst in the series. 5 was better but oddly cerebral for that type of movie, 6 was pretty much the same but still watchable, 7 was pretty bad in all regaurds, 8 was THE worst movie in the series...and possibly one of the worst movies ever filmed, 9 was...okay. They clearly tried to return to formula in 9 but it was just kinda dumb. OH and it was hilariously clear that 5-8 were re-proposed scripts from failed movies...and that they wanted the series to die after 3.
This was literally the only thing I could think about when I was watching THG, it felt like they just took it and threw another shallow story over it to make it look different.
Battle Royale 2 was pretty dreadful though
>calling a Z movie a B movie
naw man...The Room isn't even fun to watch fucked up with friends. four attempts at watching it and we finally KINDA made it though with rifftrax; we just stopped watching it and ended up listening to it.
why? That is the cultiest of cult films. It's the literal worst film ever made, and it gets screened several times a month at the theater near me, which is also the busiest theater on the Eastern Seaboard.
did not know that Peter Jackson had such a history with b-movies until opening this thread
Mad as fuck when they pulled this off Netflix.
Puppet master was the shit, pumpkenhead also, but god damn i remember watching this as a kid and losing my shit.
read the description, sorry you are a pleb who can't appreciate good cinema when you see it
>he hasnt watched the 210 minute restored version of Metropolis
Most quotable film
there it is! I was beginning to think I was gonna get to post that one.
fucking hated that movie (except the electical tape)
Send more paramedics
Critters 2 is better
Used to go to the midnight movies every weekend in the early 80's Cheech y Chong were mainstays.
I watch a lot of movies, and even if it's a terrible movie I'll watch it until the end...there are but a handful of movies I can't watch to the end and Mad Max is one of them, that stupid piece of shit has no story NONE! it's just a bunch of random shit that goes no where.
This movie is fucked, the japanese IRL are even more fucked.
Get your flamethrowers ready... We're killin with fire.
yeah, highschool girls running around in lingerie is for faggots. Learn about life son. I can take 1 fag in lingerie and 1 in a gold speedo for a handful of girls dressed the same way anyday.
you sir are the homosexual
decent Mad Max ripoff (pic related)
Nah, its pretty sweet when you first see it
Watch it two or three times and it kinda loses its appeal.
Now on the other hand, THIS is a movie that im mad for existing.
not mad, but it does suck
(pic related) nearly puked when I first saw this one back in the 80's. Was 15, drunk and high and saw it at the midnight movies. I'd never seen anything like it before.
>"cult classic" is hipster code
>enjoying solely for the sake that specific irony
which one? Wizards? It was pretty awesome in the 80's. Not much else like it back then.
Also this one
Both from Emir Kusturica, fucking brilliant
Is this movie about Skynet sending a terminator they based off the vampires from Blade 2 through time to the time of Starship Troopers? Because That's what I'm getting from the cover art.
damn, can't believe I didn't think of that one. Used to blast this one in my '72 Duster.
Second for Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Back when Mickey Rourke looked like a more handsome Brice Willis. I though the boxing career was bad, then he got lots of home depot plastic surgery. Its bad when the prosthetics they used in Sin City look better than his actual face.
The funny thing is that John Carpenter's version of 'The Thing' is a remake of the 1951 movie 'The Thing From Another World.' Pretty much exact same story, set in Antartica, find spaceship and alien in ice, unfreezes, it kills until it is killed. Only difference really is the alien is a vegetable and it contains certain anti-science sentiments typical of the genre in those days stemming from the creation of the atom bomb, lead scientist intentionally helps the alien so that he can 'learn' from it.
One great thing about the 1951 version is that they shot live action fight scenes where the actors were throwing flaming buckets of kerosene around, one shot had the female lead cornered against a wall quickly covering herself with a mattress before flaming kerosene is thrown against it.
Did I mention the quality? Yes it sucked, it was just trying to cash in on the people that liked the old ones, the guy called it another remake when it wasn't why is everyone getting so buthurt about it? It's not like those Star Wars remakes were any good either. Replacing Han with Jar Jar? What were they thinking!
