I've tried this thread several time and have gotten with some great stories, so here it is again.

TL;DR: What do you think is the most-dangerous/violent/crime-ridden city in in the America? And why?

If I had to come up with a list of the most-dangerous cities in the U.S., it'd be something like this:

1.) Detroit, Pontiac, Saginaw, & Flint, Mi
2.) Gary, Indianapolis, & East Chicago, In
3.) Camden, Paterson, Newark, Jersey City, Trenton, & East Orange, NJ
4.) Chicago, Rockford, & East St. Louis, Il
5.) Memphis & Nashville, Tn
6.) Oakland, Stockton, Fresno, & Richmond, Ca
7.) Kansas City, & St. Louis, Mo
8.) Baton Rouge, & New Orleans, La
9.) Cleveland, Cincinnati, Dayton, Akron, & Youngstown, Oh
10.) Baltimore, Md
11.) Mobile, Birmingham, & Prichard, Al
12.) Philadelphia, & Chester, Pa
13.) Birmingham, & Mobile Al
14.) Jackson, Ms
15.) Little Rock, Pine Bluff, & West Memphis, Ar
16.) Atlanta, Ga
17.) Houston, & Dallas, Tx
18.) Wilmington, De
19.) Milwaukee, Wi
20.) Bridgeport, Hartford, & New Haven, Ct
21.) Columbia, SC
22.) Albuquerque, NM
23.) Tulsa, & Oklahoma City, Ok
24.) Buffalo, & Newburgh, NY
25.) Phoenix, & Tucson, Az

There surely are other places deserving of being mentioned, so feel free to mention any places you think should also be included. Obviously, LA and NYC have lots of crime, but the places I listed seem to have particularly violent cultures and a higher per capita-crime rate.

So, what do some of y'all on here say is the most-ghetto/dangerous city in the U.S.? Is it where you live now or are originally from? I live in Arizona, on the outskirts of Phoenix, and there's certainly crime here, but I've tried to keep my ass out of trouble for many years now, so I don't have many good stories to share.

However, I'd like to hear about the place(s) y'all think are the worst of the worst.

> And the last of the posts shared by the guy from Albuquerque:

Yeah I think Abq is quite a biy worse off. They don't talk about it as much but south of I40 isnt okay to be after dark.

Never met Tapia, but I boxed at that same gym for awhile. J. Voight was a cool dude, he sat next to me at tuscanos downtown. Sam jackson was a serious asshole. We ran into him in old town and he told us to get the fuck out of his way. My wife and I were sitting in the grass. Grade A douche. My wife's friend called him a trash ass nigger. I laughed.

--------

People get kidnapped out of town and there's a pretty serious problem with human traffickers. Also if you dont lock your shit up tight your truck will be stolen. Will be.

At about 3am the other night some asshole started banging on my door yelling about needing change for the bus. Ofc my wife is like "go do something about it"

I opened the door and this asshole tried to stab me with a little insulin needle. I had the baby monitor in my hand and i hit him in the face with it six or seven times before it broke apart. I didnt even make the conscious thought to do it, just happened. Took APD almost 45 minutes to show up.

Gary, Indiana, seems to get mentioned often in these threads, so I'll post a screencap of a story someone posted about driving through Gary, Indiana, on the way to Chicago and having cars block the road and try to ambush him while pointing a shotgun at him.

And in regards to being in danger of being a victim of a crajacking, it seems as though Camden, Gary, and Flint are similar in the sense that people have claimed that you are literally at risk of being robbed/carjacked/assaulted at all times; particularly, if you are from out of town/white.

Hello there, fellow Arizonan! What part of the state are you from/currently in? I was born and raised in Arizona; originally, Chandler, then Payson, then east Mesa, and now currently staying in south Scottsdale (not the nice part, like I think of when I think of Scottsdale; it's actually like the ghetto of Scottsdale, near 68th St. and Thomas).

Why exactly do you think that phoenix and Tucson are rough places? Got any personal experiences you want to share in the thread? If so, it'd definitely be appreciated!
>>
I live near East St. Louis, which btw isn't terribly far from Ferguson, MO. Both areas are total shit-holes but I would be much more terrified if I were lost in East St. Louis.. if that says anything.
>>
Used to live in Louisville KY.
Not saying it is as bad as most places listed but being in Chively or Portland in the p.m. is a good way to get robbed, beat down, or stabbed. Lots of street racing in residential neighborhoods.
I personally have been mugged twice. I just Looked down at the ground and handed over my shit the first time, the guy had a little saturday night special stuck in my gut.

The second time wasn't as nice. I took a tire iron or some other metal object and went down while walking home from the riverfront after Lebowskifest.

I realize that there are certainly nice parts of Chicago, but there have got to be some large ghetto parts, with so many shootings happening there these days. Plus, like Detroit, Chicago just seems to make people tough for having lived there. It's like the cold weather and crime and culture force you to become tough and hardened to some degree. Or does this opinion I have apply more to Detroit than Chicago?

Also, isn't Englewood an absolutely fucked-up, violent, scary place? I'm sure the people form there make their way to other parts of Chicago and fuck things up along the way.

>>588929076
From what I've gathered from previous threads, ESL is one of the most fucked-up, violent, scariest cities in the country. Have you been to Detroit? Gary? Flint? Chicago? Or the bad parts of St. Louis? If so, how does East St. Louis compare to the bad parts of those cities?
>>
I live 5 miles from East Saint Louis. Parts of it look like a bombed out warzone. I used to work for a sewer contractor, and we would go down there to pump some old peoples tanks, I asked him one time why nobody messes with us and he said the nigs all believe the septic truck is owned by the mob. A few nice old people down there, but overall a very scary place. The city has almost no cops, due to having no money, mostly from corruption.
>>
>>588928984
I'm from and live in East Mesa. I don't personally have any stories, but whenever I'm in those cities for work, I feel like I'm going to get stabbed. Tuscon just fucking looks like Mexico. Shit ton of alleyways and chain link fences everywhere

Louisville is a city that I don't think I've included on the list before, but that I probably should have. The main reason I have to think that Louisville is a violent, dangerous place is because I have seen it on The First 48 many times and it seems like a rough place. That's the main reason I came to realize how bad a place Memphis is, and also how bad a place Miami is (which I forgot to include on the list).

And on that note, I should have also included the bad/ghetto Florida cities on the list, of which there seem to be several, but I forgot to edit it and add them to the list in the OP.

Those cities would be Miami, Opa Locka, Jacksonville, Orlando and the ghettos is Tampa and St. Pete. And while I'm not familiar with them, there seem to be several really bad places in the southern part of Florida in the Miami area.
>>
lol america....

Saint Louis in general isn't too bad, lived close to it my whole life, but there are some places you don't want to go. The north side of STL is where most of the bad shit happens, shootings every night, I think we are up close to 200 homicides this year, nearly all in N.STL. Believe it or not Furgeson wasn't that bad of a place. Some of the surrounding municipalities were worse by far.

Before I moved to south Scottsdale about a year ago, I was living near Power and University. It was a nice area and I liked it there and I am hoping to move back there soon, even though, I currently work in Scottsdale. And I have not spent much time in Tucson, but I've been around parts of Phoenix where I could feel that it was unsafe (near 32nd St. and Thomas, 35th Ave. and Camelback, and 27th Ave. and Indian School) and where I did not enjoy being. Would you really say that Tucson seems like it's a more-dangerous place than Phoenix?

East saint Louis is pretty bad. I've never seen any thing quite like it in Chicago, or Detroit, Rockford has a rep for being a tough town, but I have a friend from there who says its no bad, just a lot of drunks. A lot of E.STL is empty feeling...parts have been destroyed for a long time. It was a nice city back in the 50s and 60s, my mom tells me that they used yo go shopping at the department stores downtown when she was little. The city just died, but its been dead for 30 years longer than Detroit. It reminds me of fallout 3 in places. Just rubble in places, a few houses with people in them with little hope.
>>
>>588931725
I was referring to both Indiana cities, Gary and Indianapolis. I originally only included Gary on the list, but someone from Indiana posted in a previous thread and stated that Indianapolis has some really bad areas that are actually comparable to Gary.

Are you from Gary? Or have you spent much time there? If so, is it as bad as people say? Is it scary/unsettling just being there? And do you think Gary is as bad/dangerous as Detroit and Flint? East St. Louis, Il? St. Louis, Mo?

>>588931749
I start these threads because I like to read about people's personal experiences about places that I likely will not get to visit.

Do you think that Tampa has some rough parts in the bad areas? And do you think that St. Petersburg's ghetto is worse than Tampa's ghetto? I would think that Tampa's would be worse, being that it's a large city/has more people, but from what I gathered, St. Pete has some really fucked-up parts. While I was born and raised in Arizona, I did actually live in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area for about 5 years and I just got back home to Arizona a little over two years ago, so I got to know a little about the area, but just did not go out much while I was living there. I live in Pinellas Park, then St. Pete, then Palm Harbor. Are you familiar with these areas? And where exactly are you living now? Also, do you play poker at all?

Boating? or is it a large river that pretty much just separates state borders and?

Hah! I'm a Teacher, and I live in Saint Pete. Sometimes my students like to act as though they're hard, like they know what a 'hood is. Let me be clear- there is NO PLACE anywhere near the Tampa area that comes close to being a *real* ghetto. Nowhere. There isn't any place within 100 miles of Tampa Bay that a cop won't go. This place is fucking paradise as far as that goes. Additionally, There really isn't anywhere that I wouldn't go (I'm a white male, btw) at any hour, as long as I had one friend. Pretty much anywhere you go, the criminal elements will just blow you off if you look at all like a challenge.

I lived in Memphis for 23 years, and considering the population was 80 percent black, it was a bit sketchy.

Niggers did typical nigger shit to each other, but the city was basically segregated, so there wasn't much interaction unless you worked with the folk.

Other than niggers, the major populous was trashy white people with inferiority complexes abundant. The city was inflicted with a severe drug problem. Most of the time, people didn't make it out of high school without developing a sincere drug addiction to opiates or some shit. Kids were croaking from ODs before they even hit 21. It wasn't unheard of to attend a party and have some piece of shit try to fight you because he didn't like you for whatever reason they chose that day.
My roommate tried to kick my ass on numerous occasions for being drunk and hating himself I suppose.
I broke my hand twice from fending off people either trying to rape or otherwise kick my ass.

The city is in utter shambles thanks to political corruption dating back since before the killing of Martin Luther King Jr.
The town is a city lost in time for the most part. The predominate culture and society is stuck in the 1960s, and the nigs have had the mayor's office for over 20 years, so nothing is progressing.

Could post more if anyone's interested.

>>588934410
Have you been to some of the rougher areas in/around Phoenix? And do you think that it's got a scary feeling to it in Tucson because of how close it is to Mexico and the potential presence of Mexican cartels down there? Or are there just hardcore people/thugs down there like there are in Phoenix?

E.STL...It looks like beruit during a war. Old buildings that look bombed. Sparse population. Abandoned downtown. No, no malls, no movies, some areas barely have power or water.. Its close to the Mississippi..I know a few people who fish in it, swimming in it is death. ESTL is a warzone where the people are too hopeless to fight the war anymore.

The neighborhood on 9th (MLK) and 4th streets are trashy in some areas, but violent crime isn't a big deal down there. Like, shootings make the news they're so rare. In Stadium Park and down to Child's Park, yeah, there's more crime- that's the black neighborhood; But I've been down there before. I wasn't afraid for my safety or anything like I would be in the wrong parts of Atlanta or Detroit. The worst feeling I get is just being out of place; all the black folks staring at me, worried that I'm going to start some shit. I've never been to a city in Florida that really made me think I was going to get robbed or killed or anything.
I haven't spent a lot of time in Jacksonville, though.

Yeah, I visited a couple of years ago right after Katrina hit. I can't pose an honest opinion of the city for lack of immersion, but it seemed vanilla compared to the visage of Memphis.

Memphis guy.

Living in the city made it legitimately difficult to find a woman, as most of the decent ones weren't seen around town.
So, in order to get laid, you'd have to plug yourself into some social circles.
There were two types of white people there:
Poor trash
&
Rich trash

The rich partied with other rich folk, and the poor partied with whomever had the pot and a place to crash.

Sure, please feel free to post some stories about your personal experiences in Memphis. Are there gangs there? Or is it just that there are lots of violent criminal-thugs roaming around the city? Based on what I've seen on The First 48 and read about in previous threads on here, Memphis is seriously one of the most-dangerous cities in the U.S.

What are the cops typically like there? Friendly? Or cold and tough, from being around so many desperate people and violent criminals?

Also, are there lots of sexy females in Memphis? And is there still lots of racism prevalent?

Jacksonville and O-Town both have some reputations for crime, but I think it's largely overblown. If you were looking for some interesting stats, I'd suggest ONDCP street drug price indexes. I hypothesize that prices in FLA are some of the lowest in the country, and that contributes to less violence. You don't hold up liquor stores for your blunt if you can just as well get it by working at the liquor store.

I heard from my Investigations teacher that Oakland PD does the absolute bare minimum because they have absolutely no room to work with. The officers have to ask people if they want to file a complaint about them. Fucked.

Lived in Tucson for 23 years. Just avoid south Tucson and midtown and you'll be fine.

>Are there gangs there?
From what I've heard, yes. The niggers had set up organizations deep into their territory. It was unheard of for whites to even traverse into that region, so I don't know exactly what is was like other than they'd indoctrinate nigglets without dads at birth.
>Are there violent thugs roaming the city?
No. As stated before, most of the city is segregated--the whites stay here and the blacks stay there.
There were mafios vividly apparent in the town too. Most of the businesses were fronts for whatever was selling that day of the week.

The city isn't dangerous in terms of--life-threatening but, it's not a place you want to raise your children.
Manipulation, deceit, drug addictions, thievery and beatings were a normal occurrence.

>What are the cops typically like
The pigs are some the most vile, vapid renditions humanity has to offer.
I was arrested once, and I was sitting in the back of a (crammed) squad car; and I listened to a couple of the cops conversation.
Apparently, a kid had killed himself the night before, and had coincidentally published a book before offing himself. The pig said something like, "Damn, man, what a stupid shit. He ain't gonna see any of those royalties....Plus when I came to the door, his mom was fucking hot as shit; I'd fuck the shit outta her right there."

Oakland definitely sees to be one of the more fucked-up cities in the U.S. And do you mean that it's mandatory for a police officer to ask every citizen they interact with if the citizen would like to file a complaint against them? As in, it's necessary to ask about a potential complaint, because it's so frequently desired? Or what?

>>588939703
Do you still live in Tucson now? If not, when did you leave? And where do you live now? Also, did you get up to the Phoenix area often? If so, how does Tucson's rougher parts compare to the rougher parts around Phoenix? Does one city give you a higher sense of danger than the other? And how bad are south Tucson and midtown?

Also, are you a Wildcats fan? If so, Bear Down, my homie! Go, 'Cats!
>>
Rockford il is a complete shithole. From west state to 7th st is fucked. After six at night might as well stay inside. Got jumped more times then i can count... also can't walk two blocks without being asked if you want drugs or to fuck a nasty ass prostitute.

More about Tucson.
I'd say its safer than Phoenix but its a matter if personal opinion.
While it is closer to the border more Mexican and niggers go to Phoenix and the surrounding cities because there are more jobs and people to fuck.
Most of the bad rapp Tucson gets is from the math heads and car thefts in south Tucson and midtown.
That all being said. I still moved away as soon as I got the chance.

But I was always afraid of Phoenix because in the rough areas of the city there always seemed like no police presence while in Tucson the police seemed to police the rough areas even harder. And i over away 4 years ago once I graduated. Now working up in Everett, WA.

Let's be honest, most of 'multicultural' America is crime and violence-ridden.

Too many guns. Too many stupid people. Sadly there's no way to get rid of the guns at this point. And Americans won't acknowledge their stupidity problem.

>>588940318
Do you think that Rockford is as bad as/worse than the bad parts of Chicago? East St. Louis? Detroit? Flint? Gary? East Chicago?

And what did you get jumped so frequently over? Did you talk lots of shit to people? Or are the scumbag thugs there just looking for people to fuck with/assault? Did you end up becoming a good fighter? And did you ever put a whoopin' on anyone? Also, did you eventually start carrying a gun/knife/some sort of weapon at all times?

Also, are there lots of attractive females there? Did you hook up with any? And what color are you and how old are you? Also, do you still live there?

>Continuation from before

I started hanging with gypsies, artists and people of that sort, because they proved to be the nicest and fun to party with.

I came from an affluent family, so I was a bit apprehensive to immerse myself in the culture of downtrodden-Memphis, but I did what was necessary at the time.

If a woman was a 7.5 and above she opted for a housewife position, or moved elsewhere. Women were typically, extremely wary when talking to men, as most of them were molested/beaten at least once in their life.

I once went to a gypsy party, and they were hanging from meat hooks in the backyard, swinging from a tree.

Moar?

The rough parts of Tucson are seriously scary at night. But I would say that they don't hold a candle to other cities like LA, Oakland, or Chicago. Shootings are pretty rare and the worst crime is car theft.
>>
i live in baltimore- it's obviously pretty bad here. I live near the west side so i hear gunshots all the time (heard a cop get shot the other night), and also have to deal with other disturbing sounds like people screaming for help late at night if i have my window open. Seen a lot of shit too.

I don't think id add anything to your list though its pretty damn comprehensive. I take it you have been to a lot of these cities? what the hell do you do for a living to bring you to all those impoverished cities lol

Yes, please feel free to keep posting! I'm here reading, but I suck at typing, and as you can see, my posts are typically long, so it's frustrating to try to reply to every post. I am definitely interested in hearing more about Memphis. However, I have to say that I'm surprised to see you state that it's not dangerous in Memphis, in regards to there being life-threatening danger there. From what I've gathered, Memphis is really fucked-up and legitimately dangerous and violence is a major part of the culture there (at least, in the ghetto). Many people seem to think that Memphis is deserving of being in the Top 5 of the most-dangerous cities in America.

>>588941338
When you went to Gary to party at night, was it scary just being there? or are there actually some nice part of Gary? Would you say that Gary is scarier/more-dangerous than the bad parts of Chicago? East St. Louis? Detroit? Flint? St. Louis?

And have you been to East Chicago? If so, is it comparable to Gary?

From what people have stated in previous threads, if you are from out of town, i.e. you are white, you are legitimately in danger just being in the city, even in the daytime. People have claimed that you do not stop st red lights or stop signs when you are passing through Gary, especially, at night; as you are literally at risk of being robbed, carjacked and/or assaulted at any time. Do you think this is fair to say about Gary? Or is this an exaggeration?

I actually haven't been to many/any of the cities, other than when I may have passed through areas near them during the few times I've traveled across multiple states. I just have an interest in learning/reading about ghetto culture/crime and people's personal experiences in cities that I have not been to and will likely get to visit.

As for Baltimore, I watched the entire series of The Wire about 3 years ago after my cable was shut off and if the city is anything like it's depicted as being in that show, B-Mo is seriously fucking scary! And while it seems like it's got to b an exaggeration, people have stated in previous threads that it really is as bad as it's portrayed to be in The Wire.

Assuming you've seen The Wire, would you say that show really shows how bad it is in Baltimore? Or is it a major exaggeration?

Also, if you are a fan of The Wire, who's your favorite character? Omar?

Memphis here

Well, I can't overstate the fact of it being a segregated city.
The niggers have their own villages to which they stick to, and the whites have theirs.
The niggers kill each other every day there. I don't have the numbers, but they're not killing more than they're birthing.

Per capita there are more people being murdered in Memphis every night than any other city.
As a white person, you just don't go there.
Blacks have their dealings, and whites have theirs.

I can keep it up all morning if you're still interested.

Being that you were a bigger guy, is that why you were jumped so often? Did you ever have people wanting to fight you 1-on-1? Or was it almost always people trying to jump you? Did you ever take any bad beatings? Did you/anyone ever call the police after being jumped? Or was it usually just short confrontations/scuffles? And did you often/ever pay people out while getting jumped? And did you eventually become friends with any of the people who had jumped/fucked with you?

I don't understand. Usually when something is hanging from a meat hook it is dead. Also, you have to pierce a traumatic amount of flesh to put someone on a meat hook. Like, it's not like cutting yourself. Were they tied to the hooks or did they literally have hooks stuck through them? I'm not sure I believe you.

Great questions.

The individuals had pierced their backs with large carabiner type instruments, and fixated rock climbing equipment to the tree. An overseer would "hook up" the carabiner instruments to the equipment via large hooks. The patients were suspended in the trees by three large, beastly looking men. The individual was suspended until their climax had arisen.

Great enjoyment on their expense, in my opinion.

Have you been catching any of the episodes that are being re-broadcast in HD on HBO Signature? I'm not sure when they started showing them, but I've seen them on the guide the past few days and I watched a few episodes and it made me want to re-watch the entire series!

By the way, are you from/do you live in the Baltimore area? If so, got any stories? And if not, where are you from/do you live now?
