lightsaber design thread
GET ON MY LEVEL
we full edgy nao
can't be edgy without it.
still needs one coming out of his ass
it's the wrong way round
Why limit yourself to cutting when you can tell them things?
>mfw no one realizes that if anakin had been using one during his fight with dooku, his hand would have never been cut off
>mfw you all call it useless
>mfw none of you have even seen it in combat yet
>mfw the cross lightsaber has been used before, in a slightly different variant
>Sith Army Knife
He made some pretty good points. And its true, there are so guards on a lightsaber so when you lock up with someone couldn't you always just slide down and take they're hand off?
>hurr it looks gay
Hypothetically if you had to use one, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't care what "looks gay"
You were mistaken.
Yea it sucks, I was hoping to see a trilogy based around this guy.
You were partially mistaken as well. Not a claymore. But it has guards on it
How does it even work? If they're using lenses to divert part of the beam to the sides then it would end up having the same length as the primary blade. They could have a smaller crystal inside it but I just don't see how it would fit.
I never said they didn't have guards I said they weren't all based on a claymore design, I like that pic, its rare for me to see Star Wars art I haven't seen before
The new movies will never reach the quality of the books.
There was too much of it and so much was fucking retarded. Maul didn't die? Fett survived the Sarlac pit? The Emperor's soul just inhabited a clone so Vader's sacrifice meant nothing? Luke turns Sith? All of this is fucking stupid.
I HAVE A LISP NOW!!!! FUCK!!!
Dude its the fucking star wars universe. If you expect everything to be realistic than you shouldn't have started watching movies about basically space ninjas with beam swords in the first place. Have a little imagination for fucks sake
would have made the best sequel out of all the EU works. though really i hoped to see something from the new jedi order series. a good ugly alien invasion instead of the empire and guys in white armor.
I always thought that jedi should be able to harness the gravity around themselves with the force to make the the light sabers orbit around their hands (or themselves), not unlike general grievance
Ah, I may be retarded then. I need to brush up on star wars weaponology. I kind of forgot how much more there is to swords and primitive lightsabers in sw
>Maul didn't die?
The Star Wars universe as we know it doesn't exist anymore according to Disney. I think the only thing they consider canon are the movies, the Clone Wars series, and that shitty Rebels thing they do now.
some of it was retarded
>Maul didn't die?
>Fett survived the Sarlac pit?
The Sarlaac digests its victims slowly over the course of centuries, keeping the victim alive in the process. It is not entirely unreasonable to think that if an escape is tried soon enough that someone may succeed. Especially if that person is Boba Fett.
As far as the Emperor is concerned, one of the ancient Sith secrets was the power of essence transfer, The Emperor used it to repeatedly torture the man who designed the Death Stars. But it has been speculated that the clones ere separate entities than the Emperor that died at Endor.
well at least they didn't do away with the clone war series, but dropping everything else was just foolish. i've got every book in the EU sitting on a shelf behind me, i don't think i'll be throwing those away and accepting this new universe disney is shitting out.
Crossguard is useless here. When the enemy Lightsaber comes down, it just cuts through the metalbar where the sidelasers come out. It woud make sense, if the sidelasers came out where the mainlaser is coming out, with no more metal.
But even then the Laser is pointless. Then they could have made the guard entirely out of Cortosis.
Also it will be destroyed after a few hits
The whole concept of a lightsaber is impossible. If it followed real world physics the "blade" would be infinite it wouldnt come out and stop halfway. Keep reading your fan fiction bruh
oh man .... dont you think that a hilt with crossguards made out of metal would be a little uncomfortable to cary on your fucking belt, also its just a visual style, and also crosguards similar to that already exist in the EU
Made this drawing when I was 13.
Well fucking excuse me for not liking stupid shit done to great series. I love the shit out of Star Wars, but when the EU makes shit that happens in the movies meaningless than it needs to be considered non-canon
gr8 b8 m8 i r8 8/8
It's okay Anon, I saw the earlier thread too.
I AM BECOME DEATH, DESTROYER OF WORLDS
Everyone keeps saying the hand guard is useful, its not, the energy guard emitters are too far out meaning anyone sliding their own blade down that one will cut off the emitters before that persons hand.
chill your eggs, bro
Also what surprises me is that Pealleon is one of the oldest fucking people in the series, from commanding ships in the clone wars to leading an Empire during the Vong invasion.
How many lightsaber fights have you been in to verify that?
Plot twist: It's Luke Skywalker consumed by the dark side. He is killed by Han towards the end of Episode VII.
The full script leaked last night.
how the fuck do you even fight with this shit?
Have you cross guard faggots eve read the books? The mandos armor is made out of a light Saber resistant mats. It would be easy to just add it on as a cross guard, but if you need a cross guard you're just a shit jedi that needs to git gud.
kreia was a badass. really made me question the Jedi order and it's morals for the first time when playing KOTOR.
It's likely not an actual Cross Guard. The Movie is called "The Force Awakens", suggesting something ancient 'Awakens'. Therefore the guy in the clip could either be ancient, or maybe raided some tomb or something, and retrieved this blade, which was most likely made by someone who didn't really know what they were doing when it comes to making a Saber. The "cross Guard" is more likely execs plasma, and is most likely emitted from the middle of the steel part, and the steel bits are just covering some of it, therefore, if another blade were to slide down the side, it would cut through the steel bit and reach the excess plasma and be stopped by that. The blade and/or the guy holding the blade could also explain the way the blade looks and sounds, being unstable, which is why it looks more 'fiery' and makes a more screechy noise.
no, it goes on tears, from 1, the films to 4, that adventure time crossover fabric you read
if there is no higher teir stuff that contradicts it its still cannon
>implying Han Solo could kill Luke
There's no way fucking Han could handle Luke. He couldn't even handle Vader.
Han Solo is cool and all, but he's absolutely shit-tier in a fight against someone with the Force.
>could also explain the way the blade looks and sounds, being unstable, which is why it looks more 'fiery' and makes a more screechy noise.
it's because it's getting space snow and shit all on the blade, captain aspie
Look at me , i am captain now
there's no obligation for any director to follow any sort of bullshit "canon" shit from some retarded half-assed book some nerds read 10 years ago.
Don't forget his Padawon, Bibleman.
Luke lets him do it. He disappeared just before Ep 7 and is seen a handful of times in a flashback sequence. He cracked under a long period of torture and joined the dark side. He is with the Sith inquisitors with a mask on in every scene they are in until the final 20 minutes where the mask comes off (vader tribute for a "like father, like son" moment) a fight happens between Kira and Luke and when he realizes he is fighting Han's daughter(his niece). He drops his saber and screams for them to kill him and that "his" pull is too strong.
The imperial Jedi Hunters captured him led by Gwendoline Christies character known as Marek. Lupita Nguyo(however you spell it) is a Dathomir Nightsister.
The fucking thing ends with a cliffhanger of an Imperial lords fleet in orbit around Coruscant about to fire all guns upon the New Republic's HQ(Think Taris from KoTOR)
lens flares and holes
Auto boycott on anything starwars after those last shitty movie and auto boycott on anything with a forced black lead. 2 great reasons to skip this shit.
shrek is love. shrek is life
Check out how unstable that plasma looks, flickering and way too thin. Maybe with the last Sith dying, the knowledge of making sith lightsabers died aswell?
your fantasy world has to make sense in itself faggot. Read some Tolkien or take the dick out of your mouths
better yet literally kill yourself so you dont breed and spawn more actual retards
in legacy the yuuuzhan vong from another galaxy invade there galaxy and cause chaos and destruction, they even took coruscunt (lel) it took them over 5000 years to get there too, first scouts were reported by canderouse ordo from kotor and shit the scouts interwine with the prequel trilogies abit. the invasion takesplace i think 25 aby
First thing I thought of.
All not canon now. Despite GL actually accepting the EU as real. Disney said "fuck you, you will accept OUR version". All books, short films, animated tv shows, comics and games after Ep VII is now canon.
Means the Old Republic era is now under threat. Pisses me off.
I sent the link to my dad, brother and uncle their words were nearly 100% the same reaction:
>Forced generic voice...
>A football with robot head?
>Is this real?
>A fucking claymore saber?
>The X-wings look pretty cool though.
>Let me guess black guy is going to get with the white girl riding the speeder?
the thrawn trilogy is great, a must read, plus it introduces probably the best EU character in the whole series (mara jade).
i also really liked the new jedi order series, but its a lot of books and some of the plot is hard to keep up with. if you plan to read it i'd also read the jedi academy series, its essentially an introduction to the new generation (solo kids plus friends plus newer jedi).
the x-wing series is good, like 7 books in that one and it expands on somewhat lesser known characters.
black fleet and hand of thrawn series aren't to bad. dark nest trilogy is ok. legacy of the force was a knife to the gut with the way it went, and fate of the jedi didn't really fix it.
Clear anti white agenda like all hollywood films, media advertising, news media and the like these days.
The fact remains Star Wars is a clear white majority fanbase. So you would think the lead would be white to give the audience someone to connect with.
Pissing a lot of people off. It's never the other way around either.
The casting itself said looking for a tall attractive physically built white male and an attractive mixed race or black woman for roles in a new Disney film set to start in the UK in 2014.
A lot of people reckon that means he may get killed off quite quickly.
We have 3 episodes and 4 singular spin offs coming.
Are you stupid?
All the clones are dead. It's been 40-45 years since the clone wars. They had accelerated aging.
Jango's actor is of Maori,Scottish and English descent not African.
Stormtroopers since the Galactic Civil War(Ep 4-6) were human recruits.
>stopped reading there
Exactly your kind's problem. You refuse to acknowledge the agenda and anything that goes against your foolish and short sighted policies. There is a genocide going on right now.
Wake the fuck up.
>a lot of people reckon that means he may get killed off quite quickly
who are these people...and what is it that indicates the lead may get killed off quickly...? just curious since your autism got in the way of making a coherent statement.
Yet again it shows your level of textbook responses.
I don't find any of this funny. If you do then clearly you truly don't understand how dire the situation is, or perhaps you're happy with your line fading away forever.
they actually did use a new line of clones for a while, non jango clones that is. they were rapidly grown and didn't get the extensive training that the jango clones did though. apparently there were still some in circulation during ep4-6 but lots of those guys were human recruits like you said.
