You have 10 seconds to explain to me why you dirty peasants are still using a mouse instead of a trackball.

>trackballs are more precise
>trackballs are faster
>trackballs are better for your wrists long term
>trackballs require less desk space

and the learning curve is easy, it took me a week to get used to mine and i never looked back.

trackballs are god tier.
>>
good for you
>>
And i use mine for gaming all the time. it improves my speed and aim for first person shooters and my precision for rts games.

its much more precise because its faster, you dont have to move your whole arm, just the fingers.

How are those? Do you control the ball with your thumb alone? I always use these kind.
>>
This is literally the stupidest invention ever created in the history of man.
>>
>>571439642
a lot of graphic designers use trackballs, presumably for the better precision.
>>
>>571439905
Yeah well if you don't want to move your whole arm just change sensitivity to insane that is what I do
>>
>>571439363
or you could just turn your dpi up and move across the whole screen with no effort
>>
>>571439905
Just crank that mouse sensitivity to max. I only have to use my fingers to move my mouse.
Unless there's more to this that I'm not getting. Not sure.
>>
>>571439984
yeah you put your hand on it just like a mouse and thumb the ball around. i wanted a palm one but i decided to start with the thumb ball to make it easier at first.

I'm a graphic and CAD designer. I've been using this for the last 15 or 16 years of work. There is no normal mouse comparable.

Trackball is horrible for gaming.
Try playing a fast-paced fps game and turning around 180 degrees quickly. Sure I guess you could up the sensitivity so you'd turn with less thumb movements but then it would make precise aiming hard.

G400 masterrace here.

You have more control over your cursor with your hand vs simply just a thumb. Fast-paced vidya requires this.
>>

i play a lot of SC2. Platinum ranked. i think it helps a lot for scrolling and more precise microing.

>>571440458
what? you just spin the ball hard instead of dragging your mouse 6 inches across the desk. works great. they are very sensitive.

Trackball owner here, currently using wireless.

My first one was the corded one just like in the picture, and I would NOT recommend it. While logitech makes an excellent mouse, they connect it with a shitty cord. If that fucker bends even slightly, it will leave an impression on the wiring inside, and then it will have to remain in that same exact curve or the signal will get shit on. If anyone even blew on that fucking cord, the mouse just stopped working, and you had to jiggle the cord around until you found the sweet spot and it worked again. You'd be fucked if you were playing something online.

Wireless one has been excellent so far though, it reads through walls and far as a mofo. You can even leave it on and turn off and on your computer while it's plugged in and there's never any problems

lightweight gaming mouse with variable dpi for adjustable precision, and i've never seen big name pro gammers use a trackball. maybe its good for a select group of people, buuuut, there's probably a reason most don't

We used to have one of those, looked a lot like the one on the right in the OP. Really hated it, and was really embarrassed by it. Didn't like people to come to my place because it was so ugly.
