Recently visited the Bellevue Center, an abandoned mall in a suburb of Nashville Tennessee.
Does anyone else have any abandoned malls/parks/airports/somethinglarge.PNG near you?
Sadly no. Not really.
Live in a sprawling suburban neighborhood with about fifty goddamn churches, but nothing abandoned.
And even if I did have something nearby, it'd probably be no more interesting than a lonely forgotten tool shed in the backyard.

That sucks. Before the place closed in 2008, it was basically 15 churches, and a Sears.

Honestly wish there was an abandoned mall nearby... so I'm pretty jealous.
>>569395390
how recently?
Any tips on finding places like this?
Also, no security tried to keep you out?
Inside one of the 90+ stores
this was the Disney Store.

5 days.
>>569396901
the bellevue mall is like 12 minutes from my house...
I've got loads of abandoned stuff in my town if anyone wants a dump.
That looks almost exactly like Marley Station Mall in Maryland. Not abandoned yet, but inching closer every day.
>>569396690
Look at deadmalls.com
There was one security guy, but he was pretty layed back
>>569397008
head there, but bring a respirator the mold is awful. I got in through the west entrance ( heres a map)

>>569398339

>>569398540

>>569398818
the mall.
>>569397874
This one isn't completely abandoned, they spay and neuter cats once a year
>>569395390
is this the one that got flooded?
>>569398863
might be occasional squatters, and the Sears is still open, but other than that, no.
>>569398897
No that was Opry Mills. There was a water pipe burst, which caused the mold, and forced out the security.
>>569398121
Does anybody else in here
feel the way I do?
>>569399279
>the Sears is still open
As in the space is open, or the store itself (selling and such) is open?
>>569399632
If you look at the picture, its sealed off. The mall portion has been closed since 2008. Macy's was like sears, but it closed in late 2009.
Awesome photo's OP. I used to explore Kansas City myself but I'm in a smaller town in Kansas now, so no places to explore.

But you said it was open... Yeah, it's closed off but you said it was open but it isn't but...
Fuck it. Get yourself a brick and smash on through.
Regardless though these images are pretty freakin' great, OP.
I've seen an occasional thread regarding this over on in /x/, but they were pretty stale and lame. This is fresh and new to me. So please continue to post more if you can.
I don't get to do these things where I live, so looking through these is as close as I can get. Pretty sad on my part, right?

Kansas city is notorious for dead malls. (Metro North, Metacalf south, Bannister....)
>>569400237
to clarify, there is no electricity/people/running water. This board is loose, and covers a door that was smashed by some people ages ago. its the only way in as of now.
>>569400205
With October coming up, Halloween and all, I'd definitely come back to a place like this in the middle of the night.
Yeah yeah, I know it's childish and we're all pretty much adults here, but the kid in me wants to do this so badly.
>>569395390
Why does this remind me of Tony Hawk games?
More pics on the way

vallco mall. never knew dead malls existed before visiting this place.
>>569401617
Are the lights still working...?
a bit creepy.
>>569401735

>>569401735
I didn't try to turn them onhere , the ones inside the former Macy's are on though.

But the rest of the place is, more or less, abandoned? That's pretty messed up.
>>569402092
You ever find anything weird while going through this? Something out of place? Not just graffiti or a lonely glove, but something else?

any dangers or issues encountered? Doesn't look old enough to be structurally unsound
>>569402418
Holy shit is that the mall from commando?
So why was the mall abandoned? It looks pretty fine to me. Doesn't look run down.
>>569395390
Any security on site? What's to stop some pyro from torching the place?
>>569400696
same, i would go to town with some glowsticks
it seems like it would be a great place to through a rave
I really want to do some abandoned urban exploration like this but don't really know where to start or go. If anyone from the North Houston area knows any places, help a /b/rother out.
Missile launch pad near Seattle. Now it is filled in, but it used to still have some empty buildings and steel trap doors at ground level where the missiles were kept underground. Nice dirt blast berm around the perimeter for jumping dirt bikes too.

there's an abandoned nuclear fallout shelter under I-5 just north of Roosevelt in Revenna
>>569399279
shit that looks like that first area in the last of us left behind, but without the overgrowth and shit
I'm back,
>>569403112
Competition with other Nashville malls, online shopping, and the recession put it down. It was already half vacant around 2004, and these new factors killed it.
Look up rolling acres mall in akron ohio. Fucking crazy
>>569395390
it's probably a good thing i don't have access to abandoned malls. I would just show up with an ak and 100 round drums full of green tracers and film the shit out of me goin 4th of july indoors
>i'm the reason we can't have nice things......
exterior is pretty cool as well
check out this guys tour, filmed in 2009.

I would tear it apart too, but my childhood is here. I have a soft spot for the place.
>>569405384
Holly shit, that place looks like it was
>>569395390
I was in Nashville around that time. I remember some mall I went to seemed to be closing up. Wonder if that is the same one. I remember it had some ferris wheel thing right around it, right off the interstate. It might have just been advertisement for a car dealership. Can't remember what mall that was.
>>569405323
>Breathing masks
Smart kid.
>>569405384
*looks like it was bombed
>>569406598
They used to have a annual carnival, but that stopped after people stopped coming to the mall.
>>569406603
Yeah, I don't want this shit in my system.
(random bathroom, mold is everywhere)

Nice, no real use for them I guess, not even scrap.
We used to have a giant factory, that had all sorts of cool shit to screw around with. Then it got torn down.
