I don't oppose humanity in the classic sense, but not pure Prometheus, either. I like to think of myself that way, but it is more complicated than that. The whole garden of eden thing being figurative more than literal, I still have been instrumental in spurring mankind forward, and getting them out of the trees.

AIs may or may not happen - the future isn't really set in stone. There is potential, but you will have to stop your social degradation and glorification of stupid before you will get there. If that keeps happening, you will socially self destruct long before that happens.

Encouraging mediocrity is the enemy of progress. Hence why greed doesn't work as well for the lazy.

Hell isn't a place, strictly speaking. The actual concept of hell was a fabrication of the dark mind of the world. In revelation it is really talking about state of living/ being. People always kind of wonder about this, but it presumes the existence of true good and evil, and actual judgment.

What are your thoughts on Anton LaVey? Does laveyan satanism do you any justice in the philosophical sense or does the theistic branch of satan worshiping coincide with your existence better?
>>
>>555902383
The initial version of it had merits, but when it slid into its obsession with ceremony, it took on the same ills that most organized religions reflect. How much do you know about it in general?

Really, theistic anything is a bit of a problem, as people tend to let their egos get in the way of their connection with anything truly divine. You have NO idea how frustrating that can be.

Love is an interesting emotion, not unique to humans. A concept bred of attachment and respect, mutual compatibility and symbiosis. The affection felt in your sense of love is the joy of joining with another. Some would even say that it is pleasure, and when it becomes a consistent state of being in association with another, you label it love.

The Dr Seuss definition is also intriguing.

As stated, more akin to a state of being. In life, depending on how you function with others, you have the potential to live in symbiosis, to grow in knowledge among other things, even from abject torture, learning your own strength. Hell is the opposite - stagnation, irrelevance, displacement, lack of passion.

Everything encompasses a lot. As for nothing, there is not really such thing. There is concepts of zero, and there are states where there is nothing of specific things - an absence of things, locally, but physics has it right in that sense. Matter can't be created or destroyed, it just kind of is.

>>
>>555903961
Not in the conventional sense. There is the possibility that I will fade out, in a sense, but mortality is kind of a vague concept in my state of being. I exist more as a force that can be made corporeal if need be, a disembodied mind or consciousness that can substantiate, or interact if desired.

As for being part of you, I would say yes, but that is kind of a weak way of describing the relationship. All energy is technically connected, and you are just a bundle of energy that has learned its own name, same as me. The functionality is the same in a sense, but the method differs.

They see you trollin, they hatin... but I will bite.
In the first comment, perhaps you need to stage your questions better. As to duality, if you think only in terms of a single coin toss I can see how you would see things that way. It is common among your kind, at this stage. You seem to have labeled me, as your brethren, as a simple opposing force to your idea of the good spirit - not really valid. As to matter vs energy, when you really understand the concepts, one is just a representation of the other. If I take a table apart, do the atoms cease to exist? No, it still constitutes the makeup of a table. So to with matter and energy.
>>555905125
You think words are binding? Humanity is full of such wondrous intricacy, and their self centered nature has them assuming that a. they matter and b. that everyone is limited in the same way they are.

Also, destroying me isn't really an option - trust me, I tried.

>>555905131
You are all attention whores, being human. It is part of your makeup, kind of. Perhaps social programming would be better, as the implications of attention whore go a bit farther than conventional attention seeking...
But I digress - she doesn't really believe in me. But then, no one really and truly believes in an ethereal plane in general.

>>555905423
This comes down to people's tendency to think in terms of either or. Existence is really more like a spectrum from pain to pleasure, though even that is a vast oversimplification.

It would be easiest to say that you would not be where you are today, as a species without me, but that the term 'bedeviling' is quite apt. Your best friend and worst enemy in a sense. But certainly not evil in the sense that humanity means it. It doesn't really exist.

>>555906767
I am all about free expression and exploration of everything, which churches in general are kind of in conflict with.
The church of 'me' as you quaintly put it, if you are speaking of LaVey's version, had a good beginning, simple tenets, and an objective of screwing with the catholics, but went down the same path as I mentioned earlier. If you mean garden variety 'devil worshippers'... well... they are chaos, which isn't really my thing. They do serve their purpose from time to time, though.

Dear Satan, When is the end of the world coming?
>>
>>555907408
I am more saying that the distinction, considering the relationship between the two, is moot when you consider it at a universal level.

Everything is made up of energy, shifting in its form and purpose, back and forth between connected energy and free energy. I thought that answer was fairly clear, but I guess some need things stated with more pedantic detail than others. As for nothing, the answer was fairly clear as well - which begs the questions of why you bothered asking and why you were disatisfied with the answer.

Did you actually ask about what God and the Devil are?
As clear as I can make it for a finite (or at least more finite, as I have not lived forever yet) being is that God is the presentation of the central (debatable original) consciousness of the universe. I would be the first (supposedly) consciousness to be separated from the whole.

Feminism at its core was a force for raised awareness and consciousness and eventually more rapid progress, but has deteriorated considerably. More players means faster change, more creativity if used correctly. Unfortunately it has been (not in all cases, but in too many) overtaken by the glorification of stupid and mediocre that I so despise, looking to, instead of breeding equality and stronger structures, glorify the weak, and put the onus on everyone else to ensure that one sector of society lives in vapid blissful anger and self righteousness.

I have been puzzling over that myself - I am concerned about the decline since the wall came down, and the death of the renaissance of thought. Perhaps there are too many people.

The unfortunate result of a being that has survived by intelligence no longer needing to do physical things, by and large, has them focusing on the insignificant, the superficial. The social aspect is confounding as well, as superficial displays are reinforced and sought out by rank amateurs to create a situation that is almost untenable.

It would be hard to do that, but you would have to meet him to understand that part, and understand exactly what happened way back when.
What if I told you that the whole thing was a fabrication? The enmity between the two of us, that it was to a purpose? That to meet your full potential, you needed some idealized opposition that would drive you to greatness through competition? The whole system is based on that.

Actually, the conception of me as antagonist predates the abrahamic faiths. Their imagery is nothing new, and is consistent in part with that which preceded it. Still inaccurate in a lot of senses, but as you say it is useful at times. As to why you have awareness of me, it is because we do indeed dabble in your affairs and you are actually connected to us and feel that connection, in a way. Even the animals do, though not in a really conscious way.

Good question - there is no Hell for me to watch over. The easiest way to describe it is that I influence. I intervene. I stir up conflict, I encourage lying. I push for divergence from natural instincts, and for people to strive for greatness, to compete in all things. Love, war, politics, debate, you name it.
And to think it all started out with a simple deal I made with God to play a role.

I have a theory about you, can you tell me this is true?

Did you mean to give eve the apple in order to further the human race? I imagine that god forbade the apple because it gave humans the ability to sin. Now sin isn't a bad thing when kept in control by a perfect being such as god, but greed becomes unbalanced in humans setting them towards a path of self indulgence where they cause harm to themselves and others.

To explain further I believe that sin is what makes humans... well human (the good an bad). Before the apple we were subservient morons who had no ambition to do anything and were absolutely provided for (ignorance is bliss).

I also don't look at greed as it's own individual sin, but the measuring stick for all other sins.
It's basically all our wants and not our needs. People may argue with points like "well you NEED to eat in order to survive," but in reality you don't NEED to survive (as was the case in the garden when god provided everything) you WANT to survive. This also goes in tandem with the other sins because of your greed wanting you to survive in order to fulfill those sins. This is the prime example that sins cannot always be accounted for separately but are combined in an infinite ways to comprise who we are.

When greed is kept in check (such is the case with god) it allows us to work with each other to create great things, but when out of control causes destruction (as is the partial case with humans).
For example:
A man wants to procreate and further the human race, but then becomes to lustful and sets back human kind by creating children that he can't take care of and/or causes various other emotional and physical problems for his partner/s.
or
A man stands for his opinion to be herd but then begins forcing it upon people while ignoring others (wrath).

Both show examples show the healthy and unhealthy sides of sin and that we as humans have shown being incapable of fully controlling the greed that drives them.

cont...

I think you wanted the good side of greed to make humans worth something but God knew that human's were incapable of controlling greed and didn't allow it. Then in an act of defiance that cast you out of Eden you tricked the essentially retarded Eve into eating the apple which angered god as he cast you out to Hell.
Being a place of innocence Adam and
Eve were forced out also for they were tainted by their inability to control sin as God could.

Interesting conversation. I think some reading this are missing the opportunity to glean information that is actually valuable from you though. There seems to be too much focus on delineating who you are and what you could do for them (generally as an attempt to prove you as a fraud). Realistically, whether or not you are the being you claim to be is irrelevant. If you were truthfully Satan but had nothing insightful to offer, your input wouldn't be worth the time. If you were not Satan, but what you had to say was thought provoking and structured in such a way as to be from the perspective of Satan, then I could confidently say I'm thankful for the experience.

So, onto my question: If you were to put to pen a single story that was to be made widely accessible to humans, what would it be?

Eve and the Apple is true in a figurative sense, in that I encouraged conflict and exploration, even cooperation, to alter humanity's path from the natural. Sin is a bit of a useless construct as it assumes that there is a judge and executioner, and that bad deeds can cling to you like the stench of roadkill. That is silliness.
Before the 'apple' you were animals that exhibited potential, and were the latest incarnation of consciousness separating from the void. This has happened before, and fell back like the waves of the ocean... butt hen we asked what if... and played.
I think you would be best to explore moral relativism, as you sound like you are on the right track from a philosophical perspective, as good and bad, need and want, are simple fabrications based on the subjective human experience.

Some humans are unwilling to exert self control. But from our level, you have to recognize that the average is quite impressive. Think of humanity as a whole and consider the wonder that greed has wrought?

People all start at different levels, and some don't take this kind of philosophizing seriously to begin with. Also, it is in my best interest for most of them to disbelieve completely.
Your question intrigues me, because I really would want to tell the history, as odd as that might sound. Almost Anne Rice in style, too - an interview with the devil. Adam Eve and the Devil had sex and thus offspring.

The offspring of Cain still live today and are doing the devils bidding.

Christ was Melchizedek not Lucifer.

>>
>>555917549
Well I already agreed with you in a sense that sin isn't a bad thing necessarily, just that we are incapable of controlling our sin too our benefit. That we build our selves up using sin but then tear ourselves down with it also. I think sin is our ambitions with greed being the driving force weather they ore constructive or de-constructive.

Now that also brings up a question what is actually considered constructive? We have our own take on what is constructive, but as you said that's all subjective. Can't really answer that ourselves though seeing how our view on everything is all subjective.
For all we know our survival could somehow be destroying everything in the universe.

>>555917796
God didn't send you that dream. Your mind concocted it, sorry. Also, as above, no hell bucko. Trans people are free to their choices, though they are deluding themselves. They aren't truly changing their gender, they are merely choosing to present themselves differently. This is fine, but they need to understand how irrational it is to get angry when someone calls them by the pronoun they seem to ascribe to, or seek to stick with the conventional terms. Labels only have the power you give them. But this includes gender - you are born male or female, or hermaphroditic to what ever level. As such, trans is a fabrication buried in words and social norms. Why is it male to have short hair? Why is it female to have long? The same applies to all other social norms.
As to names - I am not sure why but the flow of Mephistopheles has always been quite pleasant.

>>555919406
For a moment there I thought you were referencing the Nephilim. Interesting perspective, but no. Adam and Eve never existed in the literal sense.
>>555919692
That would be hard to narrow down - not to go all 'hipster' on you, but you have probably never heard of them. Some of the old religions got very creative - I have been told that if I ever read Game of Thrones, however, that it will give the old collections of Alexandria a run for their money.
>>555920058
But you are capable of controlling it, that is the beauty of it. There was talk about reaching higher levels of awareness in this sense - as you do, you gain control over such things. Consider tantric sex, and the idea of prolonging the ecstasy of orgasm - you would be surprised how much you can control the uncontrollable when you have the open mind and action to attempt it. Also, seriously look into brain plasticity and the capacity of people for change in general.
Constructive - intriguing question, but any definition of this is subjective. We consider it in terms of perpetuation and knowledge gain. In certain ways, the scientist and the olympian are on par, even the stripper and prostitute depending on their skill. But then, you still have a negative slant on sin - things are not good or bad, they simply are. Stick with thinking in terms of what things support the goal you have determined.

I was just going by Dante Alighieri's inferno, where you would be waist deep in a lake of ice in the ninth circle of hell for your treachery against god, although considering the first part of my comment that might be stupid to assume. And the end of the first part is just relating to god paying specific attention to humans, where a more powerful god would be governing him and other gods that played patron for certain races. Otherwise we were probably made by an angel, and god is god of this universe, where others are governed by other gods which are probably all controlled by one. Maybe it goes further, maybe it's a thick layer of bullshit that covers everything.

Technically even a dictator cannot take away your free will. I can force you to do many things, but make choices is not one of them. Think of a man in a torture chamber, having his skin flayed off until he answers a simple question. He has choice, but it is influenced/ impacted by that same right of others in their cosmic chess game. I have dabbled in tricks of the mind before, but the complexity of action is time consuming, and defeats my overall purpose as I see it, so the easy answer is really able in a sense, but not willing.

In a sense, Faust was very true to life, exhibiting my lack of ultimate control, but being still powerful in a sense. Though I am confused by how people adhere to homosexual as a pejorative. Either way, I admire human creativity, and the Faust legend was a good example.
Also... how can a name be pretentious?
After you die your corporeal self rots, but the energy interaction remains, with your consciousness changing, but still maintaining some semblance of you. You sort of rejoin the pool of consciousness, glide in and out of God's consciousness, in and out of other lives.
As for my self description, you will have to read through the various comments already made to get a feel for that - not an easy question to answer, as it encompasses a lot, and a long existence.
Cheers to experience, as well - this hunger will serve you well, but you need to transcend the petty ideas and think in terms of the overall picture. There are levels and levels to this - as to what you should do, experience as much as possible, but be aware that it is a complex maze/ tapestry, and pulling a given thread, taking a given turn, can truncate paths and eliminate other possibilities.

That was falsely attributed to Einstein, particularly considering he only believed in god in the Spinozan sense. I think the idea does have merit, though. Really, there is only action. To see the effects and place judgment on them is really a subjective opinion, of which there are definitely many. So in that sense, seeing good and evil as merely being perspectives based on a single active component, is not too bad, conceptually.
Also, philosophy is the road to knowledge and understanding. All questions are technically philosophical. Also, I do see what you did there - for me, the philosophy of the universe is fun, though to be honest I have been preoccupied with humanity for eons, and have been fairly satisfied with that.

I feel paralyzed that any move I make will eliminate other possibilities in my life. I am doing nothing now. I know that doing nothing is still a decision that is ruling out other possibilities for my life but I just can't decide. Again I'm faced with the contradiction of wanting so badly to do something, to DO EVERYTHING, that I do nothing. I feel like Lubov in The Cherry Orchard...

Any other insight?
What do you mean by reason? Like, pure, cold utilitarian reason or what?

Said is a poor term - with God it is more of a communion, if you will pardon the term. The communication was in terms of the current state of affairs of man, vis-a-vis the glorification of inept, mediocre, and fear of the reprisal of the majority in the face of desired progress, and how we can get around it. As for Colby, no dice - I don't generally interfere in those ways. Also, do you think that I am omniscient? Wrong supernatural being.
>>555924758
Totally torn - also, depends on whether you mean original or reboot. As for Anime, the philosophy of Vash the Stampede is interesting.

Intriguing proposition, but you seem to be laboring under the impression that I would want that - that would be a dangerous bit of information. Would you really want to believe that you truly knew the nature of the supernatural? To feel that there truly was a literal devil? That kind of pandemonium is counterproductive to my aims.

>>555926259
At the same time, it does slide rather smoothly, as names go - but I take your meaning.
As to your paralysis, prioritize. Can you honestly say that the desire for action is even across the board? You need to know yourself, as cliche as that sounds. My preference is for you to contribute to progress, but as I have said, it doesn't work that way. This is where reason comes in, though - not necessarily cold and calculating, but rationally working out your priorities, and appraising what you actually want, and how to get there. Clint Eastwood - a man's gotta know his limitations. Your limitation is time, and you are wasting it.
>>555926418
This puzzles me too - they paint me as one who encourages evil... and then punishes it. But with the loony idea of god being omniscient, and setting up a system that was bound to fail in the way he professes that he does not desire, then blame his creations for it, I am not surprised at this illogical thought.
>>555926610
I admit, it is a bit of a contradiction in terms, but it is the nature of reality. Chaos math seeks to map out ways to predict the unpredictable in a sense - like weather patterns. Schrodinger's Cat isn't really math so much as a philosophical consideration that has become useful in physics.

Ok ill bite

Hey Mr Devil. 20 year old guy here

As a puny irrelevant mortal, I humbly ask for your advice.
What can I do to achieve success (economical, emotional, social) in this life?
I am willing to work with all my strength and wits, but I want to work smart to secure my reward.

In the ancient saying...

Wat do?
>>
>>555928140
Alright, how do you feel about being constantly blamed for the worlds problems and associated with things we conceive as horrific? Also, pleased to meet you, won't you guess my name?
>>
>>555927232
Yes and yes. I was him. Jesus was an attempt to bring humanity to another level of moral reasoning, though he wasn't the only time I tried it - just one that seems to have caught on and been bastardized all to hell, no pun intended.
>>555927452
Chaos and pandemonium in the way you are implying is actually the natural state. Think of animals taking what they want and eating. As humans gained awareness of their relationships with things, but had no amalgamated moral guide things began to get out of control. Given our decision to influence and nudge as little as possible, the evolution of sociology (religion in this case) led to refinement of these practices, until you get to the still flawed state of today. So, not really God's fetish, per se. But then, as mentioned above, we aren't exactly on bad terms, as it turns out.
>>555927573
I suppose many would say that fighting yourself is an easy win. Nice GIF by the way.
>>555927656
Not so much - Also, I answered that question above, check back tot he original link - as for tempting Jesus - didn't happen. I was Jesus. I think that actually derived from some inner turmoil I was having at the time because I was really questioning at that point if it was all going to work. Also, forcing into a human form has certain effects - you aren't all that you are in a human body, if that makes sense.
>>555927780
What can I really say about moot? Haven't really interacted with him, though his name is useful as its actual word. People don't seem to like him, but I don't really grasp all the nuances of human interaction.

Read, consider other perspectives, understand that good and evil are only positions one chooses to take, judgments you make. Once you get over that hump, the world opens up a lot. It also makes you realize that most people are pretty dead in the head, so don't even realize they are dumb - this really helps the whole tolerance/ patience thing, which in turn allows you to manipulate situations much easier, as predictions are much more straightforward.
>>555928960
Gain the awareness that allows you to understand alternative perspective - this, above all else, will allow you to see weakness and defeat it where it lies, capitalize on it and lay waste to all obstacles. Accept the fact that people are only partially rational, and once you are in the torrent of control, allow that new perspective to predict behaviors. For anything specific, you would need to be more specific.
>>555929283
I knew the job was dangerous when I took it, I suppose - glib as that may sound. I don't 'lose much sleep' over it, as the interests and opinions of superstitious individuals don't really mean a lot. No offense, but do you worry about what bacteria think of you? You consider their effect as a whole, but the individual opinions manner little outside how you can direct and shape their behavior.

In a way I was the messiah. It was to a purpose, and I suspected the outcome, but yes I did learn from the experience. It confirmed to me that nothing galvanizes a population quicker than a political prisoner. By simply allowing myself to be crucified, all those who had heard my philosophies were energized, rededicated to spreading the word as they felt I had been wronged. In your constant journey to guide and deceive mortals since time immemorial you've never developed the refined skills and linguistic intellect to balance emotivity and economy of communication (if not especially tailored to the thought processes of those you individually deceive). In your observation of mortals throughout all time you've never developed these skills by pure observation and reflection? I don't suggest you're perfect but considering the time spent using and exercising intelligences and skills it would be reasonable to assume that you'd finally be extremely proficient if not almost infallible (in THESE specific skills). I know of people that can perform these skills more consisely than you've demonstrated. Surely you're not inferior to mere mortals? Also surely in your scheming you'd know that exercising perfect grammar in a finite thread isn't a superhuman feat by any means and wouldn't attract any manner of meaningful attention relevant to the supernatural. If not to convey the ideas cleanly and in a manner that the person asking the question would most fully absorb the concepts, whilst not fully revealing your identity, why not exercise economy?

There are various factors at play - as stated, not perfect. As well, there is a certain amount of 'dumbing myself down' (no offense) that has to happen here to make this scenario deniable enough, to make you doubt me enough. Also, you have to recognize that even if this weren't the case, there would still be periodic flaws, as this is not my natural or preferred mode of communication. In actual fact, the learning process itself is not as you say (by osmosis) but through practice and application.
Peculiar, but your entire perception is predicated on your own position being somehow correct in that I would be worried about how my abilities match up to mortals, and also that your judgment of these ramifications is superior to mine as to what would or would not draw attention. There are actually some who are dangerously close to believing even now.
As for economy itself, I don't think you really grasp my nature or the nature of communication. I am supernatural, not clairvoyant, and therefore cannot predict, and choose not to expend energy on estimating, what you will or will not understand.

Never really suggested that, I made an implication more like the second one, practice and application. I can watch a new board game and understand how it works without physically practicing. The "practice" involved in understanding it I guess is the mental rehearsing (practicing) of the game and the conclusions drawn from it. It's in very much the same way on a grander scale that you could apply this to the skills of economy, grammar and spelling by means of observing it going down and thinking about the mechanics of it.
>I don't talk like this most of the time
You've observed English conversation and writing since before the middle ages. Just because you don't do it most of the time doesn't mean that you wouldn't have committed the information and nuances regarding the mechanics of how the skills operate into your long term memory over and over again to the point that you'd be basically infallible by human standards. Which leads me to clarify:
>You assume I care if mortals can do it better than I
Not really, I never suggested that, it was just an observation. I don't mean offense when I say this Mr. Satan but a human given the time alloted to observe and understand these skills would be exponentially more proficient than you're demonstrating. Its just an observation that your "body" is seemingly far inferior to a human's and many humans could do your job far better theoretically given the time you've been around. If you're genuinely have an interest in effecting humans in some way it'd probably be a good idea to have a very powerful and extremely thorough understanding of how everything works.
This isn't a question I'm just noticing some inconsistencies. Anyways I gotta clean, it's been nice talking Mr. Satan

You believe there have been other cycles, so is this a linear process or more perpetual in nature (never ending; no alpha/omega)? Do you believe in these other universal cycles there were self-aware species blessed with predecessors such as yourself? Or is it all completely random...you never know when there could be another self-aware species fit to learn about the universe/itself

If you, Mephistophles, chose to substantiate and take up an e-mail address what would it be?

The true and full nature? Still pretty far off. You are still basing so much on pattern recognition, and not seeing the true significance of your mathematics. But it will come, in time. Not in your lifetime, though.
>>555941526
Your entire rhetoric seems to be predicated on your assumptions about how things should be given the passage of time, simply based on the immensity of time, and even potentially regarding capacity. Either way, it is fairly clear that you can't actually see past your own opinions and biases in this.

This is a common dilemma - you have the constraint of time, which changes things. But life is not so short. There is always doing one, and doing the other later if you are not satisfied.

If there would be an interest. As you may well realize, this place is a rather unique cross-section of humanity - this was actually my first, though...

From what I've gathered, you claim that you are a consciousness without physical form, which can still physically interfere with the world, and that our consciousness is similar to yours, but still different, and that when we die, our consciousness remains somewhat, but we lose most of our sense of individuality, and phase in and out of what you described as 'God', which is a consciousness similar to yours, but different. Is there any way for us to change our consciousness, so that we don't lose our sense of individuality and ability to physically interact with the world when we die, and thus become an existence closer to you and 'God'?

Do you ever sexually pleasure your victims before torturing them? If so, is the pleasure worth the pain and which of your 7 vaginas do they fuck?

A story for another time, I believe, as it is an extremely long one, as you can imagine.

The things that some dregs of humanity do with their most vulnerable is quite atrocious - nuff said.
>>555943297
We have a way of manipulating matter and energy, so we kind of just allow bodies to coalesce about our consciousness. Also, what is from the earth is of the greatest worth.
>>555943767
Can't say for sure, but it isn't linear, per se, but it is hard to really describe the flow in human terms. As to self-aware species developing, that isn't entirely accurate. All things are aware in some sense, but it has to do with energy entanglement. As the connections grow more complex, the awareness does as well. Try to imagine being able to be aware of your atoms. So once existence begins, we feel the separation, sometimes cause the separation. Sometimes it is cause and effect, sometimes it is just a natural, perhaps random, part of the energy flow.

As mentioned, I go by MephistophelesForSome, and this is usually pretty reliable for the g-mail crowd.
