Wouldn't the vast majority of ants suffocate from a lack of oxygen before anything actually happens? And if the marines have any way to contain themselves in an airtight bunker of sorts, wouldn't they simply out last the ants by having a longer-lasting air supply and food/water?

ants and marines spawn somewhere in the observable universe. if marines spawn anywhere that isn't around the fringes of the universe sized body of ants. they will be crushed by an utterly immeasurable number of ants as they are gravitationally pulled towards the center of the mass. the remaining marines assuming they're space marines that can survive spess. are in awe as they fire their Big Macs and BFG-9000s in vain as the immeasurable ant ball pulls them toward their mass. the ants at this point are just dead biomass that are still quite warm to the touch as they have not radiated their remaining heat which will happen over the next few hours. i have no idea what happens past this point but im sure classical physics can explain all of it.
