INTJ here, not sure what to do with my life.
I have a boring assistant job, have had it for years. It's safe in a way that I can practically work there for the rest of my life. But I am 33 and I want to make some money, live life to the fullest. Now I am looking for something that might fulfill me. Ideas?

tldr; INTJ looking for job or business ideas.

Escort.
>>
Hi my name is anon do you know I was an INTJ? No? Well I'm an INTJ. INTJ. I'm an INTJ. Guys? Did you know I was an INTJ?
>>
>>552412589
Yep, came to mind. But I'm married and while decently handsome, not good enough looking to be a male escort.
>>
>>552412807
Hey, I'm an INTJ, what are you?
>>
>>552412472
Don't rely on your job for fulfillment.

Work to live, don't live to work.
>>
>>552413048
I could take life like that. I just believe that the time you have to spend at work it such a big part of your life...and with my potential, I probably should be doing more than copy/paste all day.
>>
>>552412832
I live with my GF and she doesn't have a clue. Also, don't think women are looking for top-model escort.

>INTJ
>Married

Pick one?

Also, why not get a farm? Farming/forestry should fit INTJ's very well, solitary and stimulating.
>>
On a more serious note, it would help if you told us about your interests or strengths first instead of just telling us you're an INTJ.
>>
>>552412472

Unfortunately you're suffering from what most INTJ's are plagued by: lack of meaningful experiences.
Basically you're too "smart" to be able to fool yourself into thinking that your life is okay just the way it is and that the world isn't going to shit in a handbasket. But, you're also too "introverted" to self-motivate yourself out of your slump. Thus you're a 33 year old person who feels more like 88 and (like me) you're afraid that whatever vice you use to fill that ever widening hole in your life is going to swallow you whole.

There's a few band-aid methods you could use to get you through a year or two but ultimately you're always going to "rubber band" yourself back to the state you're in now. This is just what happens to people with INTJ-esque personalities.
For now just try to pick up a hobby. Something, anything to start that fiery passion that I KNOW you have, the fire's just gone out is all. Always eat right (or at least avoid "not right" foods), try to exercise (even if it's just walking), and for fuck's sake stop masturbating so frequently. If you're jerking it more than once a day that's too much.

Good luck.
>>
>>552413471
Oh please, I take dumps the size of the Empire State Building. This shitty little nigger dick couldn't fulfill me if it brought friends and family.
>>
>>552413323
Your what?!

And how do you know you have potential?

What are you good at?
What do you enjoy doing?
Find a way to make money from that combination

Yeah, that's actually good advice. Bleak, but fitting. Thanks!

>also i come to 4chan for employment advice

maybe if you worked on NOT being a combination of stupidity and arrogance, you would be successful enough to not have to come to 4chan.

>thinking INTJ is a thing that OP is.

first of all, jung himself (The guy who invented these classifications) said that you can't analyze yourself. because you fucking can't

even if you could. an online algorithmic multiple choice quiz is NOT an accurate methodology of analyzation.

tl;dr: you are just as fucking dumb as OP

i think you are confusing intellect for neurosis.

an intelligent person would realize that all throughout history, fools thought the world was going to shit in a handbasket, and yet things continually improved.

Bleak doesn't begin to describe what we both know.
Yes, there's beauty, romance, intrigue, wonderment, and excitement in this world but it's crushed or bombarded under a salvo of greed, hate, bigotry, and self indulgence.

The people that deny this are unenlightened morons and the ones that know it but refuse to accept it are hypocritical retards that suffer from a form of intellectual syphilis. The point being is that you ultimately don't have very much control over your life when it comes to things that you will find fulfilling thus you're bashing your skull against an "educational glass ceiling" and unless you come up with some sort of scientific breakthrough or humanitarian system you're not going to do much more than rock in the evolutionary sling that God or whoever gave you.

This being said...it does lead some to recklessness, drugs, alcoholism, or really any form of "high" that you can get off on. The key here is to find something to put your energy into without being self destructive at the same time. For fuck's sake do NOT wallow in video games (which give you the illusion of control) and instead learn a skill or hobby like I mentioned.
Yes, it's bleak.
Yes, it's goddamn disgraceful.
Yes, you will die unfulfilled.

But as that great man once said: The most frightening thing about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent.

>In the vast darkness we must create our own light
>>
Middle-aged INTJ here:

Hint, INTJs are almost never satisfied with our jobs. We get what we think is a "dream job" and then immediately find reasons we don't like it.

Try to find something that makes decent money that you can tolerate, and get your personal fulfillment outside of work. It is next-to-impossible for us to b satisfied at work, especially with the people we have to work with.

Well, if we're going to nit pick; OP never clarified how he knew he was an INTJ. So that's that.
>>
>>552415147
He is partially right - when trying to analyze yourself, you will start telling yourself the occasional white lie because of ego, for example.

However, when confronted with a collection of questions you answer by experience and by knowing in which situations you are comfortable and in which situations you are not, it is possible. Depends on how honest you are. But that's the case even if you talk to a professional who is supposed to evaluate you.
>>
>>552415313
very well put
>>
>>552414572
A historical perspective is prerogative of the extrovert, because it focuses on the outside world.

Also, it's not news that Introverts come off as retards with no practical sense. They're not, but that's how they usually come off as. Studying CS, i have more then enough examples of people who are smart and completely incapable of functioning in a normal context.

(ENTJ master race here, BTW)

It is useful to know the basic mechanisms for perceiving well being/happiness.

You have to make the effort to enjoy things, enjoyment isn't intrinsic to an action. Make the effort to enjoy a taste/sound/anus/feeling. Appreciation comes with practice, love must be learned. A new piece of music may not sound good until you are familiar with it, so don't dismiss things after trying them once.

Happiness is relative. Things seem good until you see something better, so try to only compare yourself/situation to worse. Schadenfreude is important, as is an occasional good deed. Don't expect to be happy for long after obtaining what you wanted. Even lottery winners and people that become crippled end up at an average level of well being after a few months, as humans are designed to become accustomed to things. It's the positive CHANGE that makes us happy, the sense of progress. Always learning something new is a good way to sustain this feeling of progress. A memorable high peak in happiness will make later experiences seem diminished in comparison. Forgetfulness has it's perks. If you achieve your goals too early, depression can set in unless you start aiming for something else.

A negative experience is always more memorable than a positive. Try and be objective regarding your own misfortunes, and again, think of those that you are lucky not to be. It's easy to focus on a single positive or negative aspect of a memory or an imagined future. Idealising the past or future can make your current situation seem worse by comparison or lead to disappointment when you achieve what you wanted. Likewise, the anticipation of upcoming unpleasantness is often worse than the thing you were dreading. If you feel you have to do something unpleasant, don't dwell on how awful it will be, just get it over with quickly without thought.

There is no value in life unless you give it value (or just adopt the values of others like most people do). Chose values and goals that benefit you.

nobody will give you business ideas. But try being an instructor in some kind of adventure sport

Remember dudes, your business ideas are precious and should only really be shared with your dad
>>
>>552414330
This doesn't work at all. Who the fuck is exclusively one of these letters? Surely each and every one of these is determined by circumstances?
>>
>>552412472
as an ISTP, id say it would be practical to invest your money.
im assuming you make enough to have some surplus after living expenses and basic luxuries, try saving that surplus up for something that you can reasonably get a return from.

no point quitting a stable job and risking your livelihood
>>
>>552416223
By "one of these letters" I mean "not a mix of the two given options per number".
>>
>>552415728
No. I completely agree with his statement. However, if you are going to make a claim you must offer evidence in support of the claim.

>>552415313
> there's beauty, romance, intrigue, wonderment, and excitement in this world but it's crushed or bombarded under a salvo of greed, hate, bigotry, and self indulgence

I would argue that these phenomenons are all human concepts and ultimately don't impact the universe as a whole. That it doesn't matter what you do with your life as the universe will continue with or without you.
>>
>>552415313
>Yes, there's beauty, romance, intrigue, wonderment, and excitement in this world but it's crushed or bombarded under a salvo of greed, hate, bigotry, and self indulgence.

But those are the best parts! (well, bigotry excluded, maybe)

The universe is a dark, shit place. We have the power to change it, and we do so with our stringest, darkest passions. That's fucking beautiful in a "tear the canvas" kind of way.

It may be me, but seriously, fuck all this "make the world a better place" shit.

Get ahead, get a tribe, lead them to a better life than other people, reap the benefits.

>Surely each and every one of these is determined by circumstances?
while there is definitely something to be said about circumstance, the MBTI is meant to observe your "baseline." that is to say, it's intended to measure your preferred way of thinking rather than your immediate reaction to a stressful or positive situation.
this baseline can also help in determining where these situations will take you on the scale.

for example, my type, ISTP, has the tendency to appear ESTP when fully comfortable and ISFJ when excessively stressed. but ISTP is still the baseline and how i would be categorized.

you're not as much of a special snowflake as you think you are
>>
>>552417146
I wasn't trying to imply I was a special snowflake. I was trying to imply that the test is flawed.
>>
>>552417336
that image is a bit of an oversimplification of the actual test, but it will give you a good idea.
the actual mbti is around 150 questions
>>
>>552417718
See that I can understand.
>>
>>552417910
you'll be able to find some abridged versions of the test online if you're interested. but if you want the legit test, which i cant really say for certain is any more accurate, then you'll have to pay for it. id actually suggest you save your money.

hell, some jobs will actually have you take it before they hire you. tho they'll be more likely to give you the "big 5" test which is only like 25 questions. im not a fan of that one tho because it's structure is pretty much made to be a spectrum of "positive" personality traits vs. "negative" ones. it implies that it's objectively better to be extroverted than introverted
>>
If you were an INTJ, you would be able to figure this shit out yourself.
