the lighting in this is insanely well done
"Apollo and Daphne" by Adam Miller
I have a few bataille-paintings, if people are interested.
Primarily from the Napoleonic age, but I think I have a few earlier ones as well.

This one is
Dante Alighieri's portrait by Sandro Botticelli
Hey man, what's up?
Where you in that thread one or two days ago that was talking about the revolution?
I'm guessing it's still a bit early (or late) for these kinds of threads, but I'll try to contribute in a bit.
Remedios Varo. Armonia (Harmony)
Or more like this?
You're welcome to participate, instead of just whining, Heaven.
I can't believe no one has posted Guernica yet. Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole.
Found a better one, without the watermarks.
that's fucking awesome
forest stream, leonid afremov
Norwegian national romanticism
dem antlers tho
Forgotten Tunes by Raipun
nice thread! dont have a lot to contribute tho..
Same. I'm more into sceneries than anything.
The Grand Budapest Hotel, fucking awesome.
I believe he sells prints on deviant art, you could try there? It does look like a nice painting to have. Also
I thought it was longer than that, but is was in a similar fashion, yeah. Thanks for making this thread, btw.
Another from Remedios Varo
Knud Baade, Fjord by Moonlight
You mean the one where OP posted screenshots of some guy speaking of /b/ being manipulated by the feds, or my previous painting threads ? Both were around twelve hours ago, though.
Yep, that's the guy.
oh man i grew up with that picture at home.
the emotion in this painting....
I'm no art pro, but I'll describe it for you.
The figure with the cloak is Hermes, god of transitions. Here he is leading the souls of the dead to the underworld on the banks of the river Acheron.
The people clamouring around him are the reluctant undead, who implore him to delay their inevitable fate. You can see a child and several other souls in despair and resignation.
The other standing figure is Charon, who has arrived to ferry them over to their final destination. A few people in front of him have visibly pissed themselves at the sight of him and the meaning of his arrival
some more Esao
You can recognise Hermes thanks to his wand ( aka Caduceus wand of healing ).
Nude by Daniel Auhlig
Favorite painting so far itt, beautiful.
Sorry to hear that, bro. I believe if you buy prints directly from deviantartart they aren't that expensive, and maybe you can use paypal yoo?
Previous painting threads probably. Sorry, I may not respond because 4chan is acting up on my pc.
If I remember it's a Tsar Ivan the terrible going crazy and killing his son, and this scene depict him as coming back to his senses.
Realizing what he had done both to his family and country, since the next in line was known to be quite mentally disabled.
Pretty cheap, indeed, but I don't have any mean of buying from the internet for now ( not my own house either ). I'll do all this shit though once I've got my own place settled.
No problem if you can't answer quickly.
are you the same OP from Yesterday?
You realize "Gogh" is pronounced "Gock", not "go", right?
I agree. What painting is this, Anon?
My post: "Anxiety", by Edvard Munch.
I might put this on my wall some day
We decided to make good threads, and I think two people to make some at the same time is enough ( I have >>551352039 going on too ).
Also I said I'd make a thread encouraging the making of good threads but I'm too lazy to do it now. Wouldn't mind if you did ( or reposted the screens, but stating we should make good threads to change /b/ rather than discussing whether the gov is being /b/ or not ).
Does anyone know the painter or the name of this?
I'll probably start a new thread too,.. I'll just dump the screencaps on request...
btw how do you make links to other threads? I didn't figured this out yet
You just copy paste the link from the OP (or any post for that matter) of one thread into another thread.
Also, more afremov.
Actually you can link to any post from any other thread as long as it's the same board. You can also link to other boards ( but not posts ) >>>/out
Got a bunch of historical paintings to dump.
The defenders of Zaragoza leaving the city-Maurice Orange
Marriage of Venice and Sea-Canaletto
my two favorites
"An Allegory of the Vanities of Human Life' by Harmen van
Juana the Mad_Francisco Pradilla
Glory of St. Ignatius of Loyola-Peter Paul Rubens
Zaporozhian Cossacks writing a letter to the Turkish Sultan by Ilya Repin
Otto Dix. His self portraits are insane.
Hey I posted that yesterday !
Turns out it's not Hopper's, I thought it was because of the atmosphere and light, but it's nowhere to be found in his paintings.
>pic related, this one is really Hopper's
So I thought, but whatever, saved it as Hopper.
finished with writing the beginning and want to post it here first, since I'm not a native speaker and also wanted to ask if I could add something:
Yesterday we had a discoussion going on why there are so much trap, dick rate and gore threads, and also why decent threads get deleted so fast and the thrashy threads get pushed to the top of the page and there’s no new content and /b/ gets shittier with every year.
We came to the conclusion, that we should do more interesting threads if something interesting comes into our mind. We would just need about 10 persons per hour to make decend threads.
If a thread gets deleted, we should take screencaps to prove the mod’s mistake.
So stop lurking, make threads about questionable things, and political or spiritual stuff. Help to make /b/ a better place as it was at the beginning. If the interest is there, I can post a few screencaps from an Anon’s thread a few days ago..
gonna use this pic as the beginning
Francis Bacon - Innocent
don't know artits/title, sorry
There was a guy a few threads back why would enjoy this.
name/title/date is in filename and original title (where applicable) is in file info
Pic related is also from him.
fucking dutch and vanitas pictures
heres one. i like the sheer amount of colours in it.
its fucking ace
and another colourful one.
Caravaggio The Taking of Christ
I like this one
thing is /b/ is a random place, so mental illness/rate/gore has as much right to be here as much as ace threads like this
its a board for all senses and interests
that said more art threads yes pls
me too bro
sorry that i dont know any title or author, but, yeah, anyway...

Pollice Verso, 1872 painting by Jean-Léon Gérôme

dresden is apparently an attractive motif
j.c. dahl is top cock
If you right wing faggots had your way there would be no creativity that was vetted and bible approved by the committee for conservative cultural pureness. Go fuck off and die you fucking piece of shit.
Here you have some of on of the greatest painters of all time
That's better than nothing.
For myself I don't have any painting at home .. I live in a very small flat, it's more of a room actually.
GOOD JESUS HEAVENS.
That fucking painting. I must have it.
Look at this one, also scandinavian, my previous favorite before your post.
Prometheus - Franz von Stuck
Turner is the best when it comes to lighting, but I preffer his early paintings. I don't like impressionist at all
Puget sound of the Pacific coast
Dick? Is that you?
Well guys, I have to eat. Thread will have probably 404'ed by the time I get back. It was an honor being in another great thread with you all. Keep up these gems and we might make something out of /b/ yet.
Good day/night/morning, all.
more from Stuck - "The Murderer"
Points for knowing the name of Hermes staff.
Points taken for not knowing what Hermes was a god of. (Traveling, commerce, thievs)
Google Rod of Asclepius
Among the Sierra Nevada, California
1868 Albert Bierstadt
pic does it no justice, seen it irl (hangs in thorvaldsens museum, copenhagen)
yeah danno-norwegian golden age painters gets the cock hard pretty much every time
Paul Klee - Dream City
Funnily enough my favourite Turners are those with that impressionist touch .. Until The Fighting Téméraire at least, after that it's a little bit too trippy.
I come from the thread about raising /b/'s standards.
it's a series of four, the 4 freedoms, by Norman Rockwell. See filename.
I used this as my wallpaper for some time.
Do you know which street it is?
I like how pedestrians seemed to own the street back then.
If you visit Paris, know that with our left-mayors, it's the rule that pedestrians *always* have priority over cars.
you can cross the streets wherever the fuck you want. If you don't die, you can even sue the drivers who don't stop for you.
but I lost the 4c "save original file(name)", for some reason.
I see the "tooltip" popping up when I hover, but no way to copy paste this.
only way I found is to "inspect this element"
takes 10 minutes
God, I need 4chanX
