Don't think that's gonna happen. It could have, if we were still in Jan/Feb 2015, when Punk could have brought literally ALL his WWE heat with him with a quick debut. It'd have been worth UFC compromising for him for that amount of bank.

It's died off so much now that it's not worth it for UFC to dent their image even slightly for a no contest in return for what Punk might bring, if they don't make it a proper contest. And the longer it drags out, the older Punk gets and pretty soon it's going to look a lot like an old man getting his face stove in by a psychopath, and then tossed on the scrap heap.

Punk is both stupid enough to think he can into UFC, and smart enough to know he's not up to it. He has too much mouth on him and, whatever you think of WWE's corporate image, the people behind the scenes let the guy walk out of a cosy top-midcard career and into a real corner.

But make no mistake - if there was this much online discussion in the 90s, none of the all time greats of the Attitude era would have the appearance of being over as much as they did at the time.
