Think about the transition. The Mechanics are much more heavily-hinged on their ring-work, their roughneck, heavy-handed style. It's central to their gimmick, the Main Roster isn't kind to ring-work and streamlines it to a point of banality across the card.
Enzo/Cass are more focused on their speaking and character work. The ONLY Tag Team that have likewise been focused on that in recent memory is New Day who are a success.
Logic would say that Enzo/Cass are a much better fit for the Main Roster than the Mechanics.
