>The whirlwind romance of New Japan Pro-Wrestling's heartthrob Hiroshi Tanahashi and his TV-star girlfriend, Hitomi Hara, ended with stab wounds last week. The police in Tokyo took Hara into custody on charges of attempted murder for allegedly stabbing the muscle-bound fighter twice in the back when he attempted to end their relationship. Tanahashi, who suffered only slight wounds, met Hara in October when he appeared as the first special guest on her show, "Strong Style."

One year later

A Tokyo District Court judge sentenced former television star Hitomi Hara to three years in prison, but placed her on probation for four years. The Manichi Shinbum news agency quoted the judge as saying: "She committed the crime only after becoming emotional." Hara stabbed wrestler Hiroshi Tanahashi in his back at her Tokyo apartment last year when he told her he was dating another woman. Hara was charged with attempted murder after confessing she tried to kill her boyfriend and then planned to commit suicide.
