but my wooden board would still get waterlogged in a week.

Penny boards suck balls, I'm just a cheapass fag. I can't powerslide on it, can't tail break, can only use foot. It's dangerous as all hell as well, but I've been riding a board for about 12 years (with lots a breaks in and still suck in doing tricks, but riding is like a second nature).
>>
Who watched /Nikeshit/ here? I like the fact no one just jumps stairs and grinds rails anymore, it's a lot more like the street skating me and my friends did (aka try doing any trick on anything we found). Are there more skatevideos like this nowadays?

On a side note, I hate what Nike SB does in skateboarding outside of throwing money to some high skilled niggas.

I loved Cory's part and liked Trevors, downloaded it just to watch it without giving more money to Nike.

Cory's always amazing but the pre 2012 version of him would've done all that and put all the StreetLeague fags in their place and I was kinda hoping to see that

I want to make a miniramp video at my local park, just for fun
Is it weird to film yourself? I would probably just do it when nobody is around.
What's some must have stuff to put in a miniramp video?
And no I can't get my friends to film it, I don't have any friends
>>
>>808928
Just film by yourself or ask someone whos at the ramp. Don't be a autistic pussy.
Stuff to put in (Skill Level):
> Disaster (normie)
> Back Feeble to Tail (a bit harder)
> Kickflip Back Lip (worth bangin ya board)
> 360 Flip Blunt (first one i cant do myself :(
> Blunt Triple Flip (Lvl: Cheese and Crackers)

My little brother has asked for a skateboard for christmas. He is 11 years old and I'm wondering, should I get him a normal size board or look around for a smaller one for him? And if I should get him a smaller mini deck where are good places to buy mini decks that arent shit. I live in europe btw.
>>

Hey are there any wide shoes for skating. My doctor says i could get bone spurs around my heel and insole if i don't get some wide shoes while skateboarding. I have tried VANS and NIKE and a lot of them seem to only have narrow shoes.

I usually wear a 10 1/2 Wide, but i can't find any that feel right. Sometimes i go to an eleven but then its too long. Help a brother out here.
>>
>>809812
I have the same problem, you gonna need some cupsole shoes. Which are wide compared to vulc shoes.
I haven't tried many brands buy my favorites right now is the Emerica Figgy shoe and the DC Mikey Taylor S. Hope that helps
>>
>>809762
often in skateboarding, moves that look ridiculous are simpler to execute than simple looking tricks that are actually a bitch to learn.
>>
>>809812
>i could get bone spurs around my heel and insole

that thing does not exist, your doctor tries to sell you shit, pick up what you want and keep skating.
>>
>>809819
Already had a spur around the inside of my heel before though. I even got custom insoles to prevent it further but since the shoes are so narrow it will cause pressure.
>>
>>809820
what the fuck does that even mean, your bone grows out of the skin? that's ridiculous, how the hell can that happen?
>>
>>809815

>>809822
Its pretty rare man, happens to people with wide feet Or flat soles. Pressure causes it to develop.
>>
>>809825
let me get this straight: if I wear wide jackets will I acquire wings?
That's not how it works bro. It's pretty common knowledge that bones don't grow into wings unless you drink the urine of a unicorn.
Your science knowledge is shit.

I have a steep arch but wear flatsoles, am I fucked.
>>
>>809829
pls be troll
>>
>>809832
that isn't answering my question
>>
>>809835
It's like this you can get a spur it runs in the family and its congenital. Or it happens of damage and pressure. It can also happen on the spine, which is why some tall people get them on the neck or lower spine. Sometimes if the spur is big enough it will have to be taken out with surgery, but if small it can be taken care of with therapy and medication.
And no you probably aren't in danger or anything unless someone in your family has it. Hope this helps.
>>
>>809845

phewwwwwwwww, that's some good news....for me that is.

thanks bro.
hey look at the upside of it: you can kill people with your kicks now.
>>
who has nice deck designs nowadays. comin back in and i wana skate some cool shit
>>

Landyachtz. They usually do longboards, but their "street" decks are solid and their designs are nice. But if you want a more "street" based company go for Welcome or Alien.

>>
>>809913
>You bros inspired me to get back at skateboarding.

talking about adding insult to injury...
>>
>>809913
If by warm up you mean go and cruise before actually attempting an ollie, then that is a good idea. I always like to ride around before I even start trying new tricks. As for the ankle thing, when I was just getting back into skating the first week or so, my legs felt really dead, like they were sore from riding and doing tricks, they stopped hurting after a week or two, it was really odd. If you are doing the correct steps in the ollie and doing it right, you shouldn't be hurting, unless maybe your body just is not used to the mechanics yet and just need time to get used to them. If that makes sense. By the way, it's good to practice in the grass, or somewhere soft, after you feel confident enough, bring it to the cement.
>>
>>809913
as for trick tips, just experiment with foot placement. I was learning pop shuvs, and i learned after putting my feet a certain way, I could pop some high ass tre's, before i learned the shuv. Just experiment, commit, and ALWAYS do tricks while rolling, even if slow as fuck. Never do them stationary

I'm very new to skateboarding. I started skating yesterday afternoon when I found my balance.

Currently, my only board is a decent penny board imitation. How does someone ollie on a penny board? Also, what are some more tips for someone on my level?
>>
>>810969
you really can't ollie a penny board, I mean, you probably can, but you should get a real board.
>>
>>810969

>>
>>810969
Ollie on a penny board is almost the same as a proper skate. The thing with the penny board is that the tail is so damn tiny that you have to do the front foot portion of the movement before the tail can even 'pop' off the ground. Those little cruisers are fun to play with, but I agree with the other anons. Get a proper skateboard, it's fun.
>>
>>810285

This board is definitely on my wish list
>>
I used to skate back in highschool and the last tricks I almost got close to getting down were the hardflip and treflip but I stopped after I moved. I'm 23 now and I bike'd to work but recently got hit by a car so my roadbike is dead. I found my old deck and I'm thinking about getting back into it but I feel like I forgot everything and I feel like I've lost my balance on it. My board feels loose as shit, would any random skate shop at a mall carry T-Tools and is it okay to skate in classic puma sneakers or are they really shitty to skate in?
>>
>>813634
Skate shops will definitely have t-tools. If they don't they aren't a skate shop. I would not recommend skating in puma sneaker shoes, even if you get a cheap pair of skate shoes, that's still better. I say get back into it, if you could almost tre and hardflip, then you were probably pretty decent. Never to late to start back up.
>>
>>813634
>>813643
I actually somewhat take that back, Classic Puma sneakers probably aren't the worst, I could think of something worse, but it's up to you, and your financial situation. Are you gonna try tricks? Or just ride?
>>
>>813634
Any decent shop should have a skate tool and as long the shoes are suede you can skate them. And don't doubt yourself, you'll be back to tre flips in a couple months as soon as you remember.

Thanks, I've had way too many problems with my roadbike and almost been hit by cars numerous times already that I'm just thinking of going back to skating and not getting it fixed after finally getting hit. Pic related, it's the shoe I skate in. I work as a cook in a restaurant so I need slip resistant shoes. These pumas and my work shoes are the only ones I really have.
>>
>>813651
Nothing is wrong with that shoe, Puma technically made that their only skate shoe. And you can get them for cheap on Amazon.
If Jimmy Cao, Joey Brezinski and Schmatty Chaffin can skate them, so can you.

>>
>>816087
keep in mind ive been skating since i was like 12, and in 28 now

my mistake was more or less giving up on kickflips when i was 14 and not learning them until i was 26. skate all the time. i skate as much as possible. take your board everywhere and skate anywhere you would normally walk
get a set of filmer wheels for when you aren't at the park and skating everywhere will be much more fun
>>
>>816141
also, go to parks and try to hang around other people that skate. going to the skatepark regularly has totally humbled me. i'm always the most inexperienced person anytime i go. but people are always super chill and sometimes help me if i ask for a tip here or there. skating with other people is the best feeling, even if its just getting your gf a board and teaching her to push around with you. me and a couple of my newbie friends love to push around through a paved park, just cruise and enjoy the outside. skate skate skate everyday. have fun, enjoy yourself, learn tricks you think are cool. have fun!
>>
>>816149
Thanks man, Im 18 and I picked up skating a year ago. I skate everyday as much as I can, I already have a regular deck and a film deck. I broke my regular deck trying to front shuv off a curb. So I just took the deck I have from my film board and slapped it on. Thats probably going to break soon too. Im actually putting together some shitty clips right now. I might finish tonight.

Well AVE won SOTY, alot of the new fiends are mad as fuck. Some don't even know who he is.

I don't even skate anymore but I started paying attention to the skate scene again when I heard he was still killing it at his age.
>>
>>816505
He's a core skater, dude been killing it since his part in the DC video.
His propeller part was icing on the cake. But the younger generation can't appreciate that, they rather have a part with a million tech flip tricks that are easily forgotten after a day.
Quality over quantity, AVE won.
>>
>>816510
yes, the younger generation also forgets that there's a point in history that we 've passed that no matter how many years pass, some things are still new school, like AVE, like anything past the 1992 point.
>>

>>
>>816632
i was working about 30 hours a week but i just got a new job on salary, so im going back up to 40, but still... off from work, go skate. night shift? go skate until then. i mean, some days its like skate for an hour after work, but days off give me time to head to the park for 4-5 hours. its more important to just make skating a daily occurrence (skate from your front door to your car, skate to the gas station for a soda, skate on your lunch break) i really just enjoy skating period so its never felt like a chore or something i need to go practice. its something i look forward to

On my plan B board, You can definitely tell which side is the nose and tail. It feels weird when i pop things up on the tail like fakie tricks because it tends to stick more.while i feel i get more pop with my tail than my nose. obviously.

On my girl board, You can barely tell which is which but there is a tail and nose.

it changes the feel a lot for me and i can do certain tricks better on one than the other. I honestly don't know if that is what you're talking about. both are Popsicle boards by the the way just one has a more steep curve than the other.

Try to see it as less as excercise as possible. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT

>i'm old

no you 're not, we 're young. Slap the teenagers who think otherwise, they deserve it and they will learn. Not respect, just to appreciate reality.
>>
>>818322
A lot of people recommend learning to skate switch as early as possible, but wouldn't it be fairly easy once your pushing leg gets more strength (and therefore better control) later on?
>>
>>818324
up to you I 'll say.
As far as what I 've seen, trying differnt things on your skatebord will keep boredom away (it's not an excercise, it's fucking NOT) but will also make your abilities develop more spherical. If you tried only ollies for two years and only that, you 'd get a shittier ollie than someone who has been skating for less time but has been trying other things.
It has to do with confidence as well, what I 've said.
Just focus on losing the athlete attitude.
You can't ollie up something? Go up it in some other way.
What about that nice trick you thought? Make it happen?
>>
>>818306
What about your trucks? My back truck feels softer since I pivot on it a lot more than my front truck. And it turns backside more easily than frontside since I do a lot of backside tricks on transition. Riding my board "backwards" with my back foot on the nose makes everything harder.

There are private raffle groups on Facebook and I've scored and sold a ton of boards on them. This is about half of my decks that aren't for skating

Fuck, Program is so gnarly.
>>819039
That Gino board is dope.

I suck the cock and I skate. I always thought it was kinda shitty that jock-fuck sports like football and basketball already have professional fag players but skateboarding doesn't really.

Probably because most gay kids just dive right into the stereotypical crap pushed on them by SJWs and drag queens and media.

what's that
>>
>go out skating
>maybe today i won't suck as much
>i suck as much as yesterday
every single day

Is buying a Penny to ride to school a good idea, or should I just buy soft wheels?
>>
>>819177
they're both good ideas imo
>>
>>819039
the Ianucci looks fucking excellent, but I dislike the chocolate logo, too preppy. Doesn't tie with the skeleton.
>>

I'm openly gay. But not to my skatepark buddies.
>>
>>819177
People will assume you're a kook with a penny board.
>>819268
My gf got it for me for last Christmas, def my favorite of my wall hangers.

>>813612
Just ordered both colors, one pink and one white.
>>819056
Def digging the Program stuff, I wanted to get their yard barn shape, but the one I got was on sale for $31, couldn't pass it up.

Good luck man! I'm going on seven months, just landed my first kickflip a couple weeks ago. The most important part of learning is to not get discouraged. If you're getting pissed because you can't land something, try something else. Remember: skating is supposed to be fun!
>>
>>819297
Why not?
>>
if you dont like spencer nuzzy and jason park ur a faggot bye
>>
>>819406
im wondering myself, thought i think to myself i cant think of many gay skateboards or perhaps i just dont notice.
>>
>19
>Want to get back into skateboarding
>All my boards are old as fuck and shitty
>Too nervous because a lot of decent skaters in my area
I just wanna skate alone ;_;
>>
>>820022
First off, buy a new board. Then either stop caring about them or skate at night until you feel confident in your ability to skate around people.
>>
>>818808
why would my mum care that you're a shit skater though, you're dumb
>>
how are reverts on 80a wheels?
>>
>>820396
Why are British people so unpleasant? Is it the lack of sunlight or the inbreeding?
>>
>>819406
>>819703
It's never come up, and I only really tell people if it comes up.
Like "have you got a gf?"
My skatepark buddies and I only talk about skateboarding, really.

Thinking of watching Nike SB Chronicles 3 (pirating of course).
Mostly interested in Colden, Koston, Bradley, Kennedy and Salazar.
>>
>>820407
They'll flat spot a lot faster than harder wheels.
>>
>>820560
>Colden
His part is good (7/10) but doesn't fit the mood of the video. When everyone else in the video is skating straight foward, his tech ability refuses to shine. Personally his part should've been swapped with Clark Hassler from Vol. 1.

>Salazar
There was an anon who was disappointed in his skating, but in his defense, Salazar was injured for a good part of the filming.
>>
>tfw nowadays i don't even browse anything else on 4chan besides the /esg/

maybe if /sci/ had less shitposting
>>
>>820060
shit advice
>>
Just came here to post that all these wwe trailer trash rejects need to fuck off
>>
>>816116
you're probably leaning too far forward
>>
>>816116
learn 2 balance, position your weight correctly, watch your form
>>
>>821707
basically this, if you are leaning to far one way or another, you may cause the board to slip out
>>
>>821470
>>821707
>>821759
ty, guess i'll try to concentrate on getting better balance rn
>>
>>821819
Yea man, happens to us all, no worries. Make sure you can ride around and you are very comfortable on your board, it'll definitely pay off later, in all aspects of your skating.
