Miz always goes through off periods. He's mostly been coasting since the Cena story ended. Hell, if you ask me the start of the Cena feud was what derailed him and he simply made the most of it with some GOAT skits. Owens is consistently good. When they give him shit he improvises in the ring. When they give him opportunities, he gives them fantastic matches and engaging stories. It's not just doing worked shoots on every wrestler, it's the fact that his booking is a lot more similar to the "treat it like a sport" attitude of so many indies than what the majority of WWE is offering coupled with the fact that his segments are able to dive as deep as they want into whatever direction they want because people know they can expect a show out of Miz. Add in his effortless professionalism and It's hard to see how anybody could dislike the Miz as a character unless they were somehow being worked by the heel persona itself.
