What caused the influx of marks in the ring? We used to have real men like Hogan, Austin and Hall. Now we have dudes running around with unicorn horns and playing with legos. Where did it all go wrong bros?

The fans, wrestling always attracts the most autistic fans and then some of those people become wrestlers.

At this point Vince needs to step in and start up some recruiting criteria like big time college football teams have.
>Hogan
>not a mark
>>3120307
I find nothing more hilarious than some fat loser on 4chan saying others aren't 'real men'
>>3120331
This has to stop
Tall, athletic, naturally built dudes can make 10 times what they make in WWE in professional sports leagues where they get benefits, less travel, and extra money from outside sponsorships. That leaves pudgy rejects like Baron Corbin, easily injured body guys, and Indy guys who are usually short. Not too difficult to put together.

Austin was a wrestling fan since he was a kid and didn't know wrestling is fake until a few moments before his first match. Hogan was a Dusty Rhodes mark when he was in high school

>Hogan, Austin and Hall
>not the biggest self marks who ruined more chances at earning more money than what they drew
There was never real men in wrestling, just bitches who whine backstage over a fake fight.

That shit actually used to matter, where as now fans just view it all as entertainment where nothing matters.
>>3120325
>I got worked by Hogan's mastery at retaining some degree of kayfabe in every interview he's ever given.

Hall was never a mark. Hall took the "b" role several times in his career. He also helped get talent he liked over a few notable times.

Hall would job to anybody on two conditions. One he gets paid. Two he doesn't use the razors edge. Dude was a team player.
>>3120550
Many unnotable times also. Everybody knows about Hall putting Jericho over (which Meltzer tries to discredit which would be fine if he also didn't do the same for:
>Hector Garza (Nitro 1997)
>Chris Benoit (Nitro late 1999)
>Sal E Grazino (ECW 2000)
>Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW 2001)
>Ron Killings (TNA 2002)
>Christopher Daniels (UPW 2004)

The degeneracy of the world, it started with americans. Just look at the kardashians and hollywood movies, flash thompson changes from raimi's and webb's spidermam to spiderman homecoming is a great example..
Anime is a big factor too
