Worse than Sting, not as bad as Roman.
Bret screwed Bret.

Ha! Truer words have never been spoken.
It's no wonder he's so bitter. Had the dude not been so fuckin greedy, he coulda stayed in wwf instead of jumping ship to the losing team and getting kicked into early retirement.
Looking at Taker and HBK, he probably had 8-10 more WrestleManias left in him too! (that thought has gotta make him contemplate swallowing a bullet)
Has there been any wrestler that fucked his life up worse than Bret Hart?!
>>3107445
Yes lets ignore that Vince killed his brother too.
>>3107445
Bret wanted to stay in WWF, Vince told him he couldn't afford to pay him anymore because Shawn wanted to get rid of him.

literally the goat

I wouldn't listen to Bret's version of events (he hasn't been right in the mind for awhile now).
Bret was trying to hold Vince up for a multi-year guaranteed contract. Sure, it made his yearly price go down, but over the long term would have financially crippled Vince (as the company stood back then).
Vince turned him down, so he went for the $$$ at WCW. In retrospect, Vince made the right decision (Bret was out of in ring action less than 2 yrs later, he woulda fucked Vince).
Also, it was proven that Bret was the first ever anti-draw. As his arrival in WCW crippled that company, and his departure from WWF ushered in a Golden Age.

GOAT single-handedly could draw a 2-3 rating in an era where everyone was shit
>>3109854
The only reason he got pushed to the top was because the competition was Doink, The Mountie, and IRS.
Once WWF pulled their head out of their asses, they saw what a mistake that was and commenced burying The Shitman (using HBK and the Kliq as the shovel).
GOAT

*yawns violently*
Never drew a dime outside of Canada
Autistic
Charisma vacuum
Sound but boring in the ring, was constantly shown up in matches with Shawn.
>>3107445
His brother?
One of the GOATs. Was a better wrestler than HBK - compare their matches versus Diesel for evidence.

I have a theory that Bret was always a secret member of the Kliq.
If you think about it, if you want to control the booking, you have to control both locker rooms, and you want to be represented on both sides of every card.
Then look at who the Kliq feuded with and stayed on top with throughout the 90s - Bret, and the Hart Foundation,
Bret also invented the too sweet hand sign.
Bret is also on good terms with Nash, and X Pac. He "put aside his feud" with Shawn.
Bret and Shawn will always be considered the most iconic feud of the WWF.
It makes sense. In fact, it would be pretty fucking obvious if you took as an assumed fact that the whole Montreal Screwjob was a work.

Bret Hart a silent partner? Nice theory.
But it's more likely that Bret was just the Kliq's stooge more than anything. They ran the place and let Bret stay high on the card as long as he did what they told him to do.
