Wrong. It's the other way around. Con-temporary society (hyphen intended) three away all of its credibility by shamelessly persecuting someone for what he says in private, which none of them would allow to happen to themselves as they are hypocrites. Very few people's opinions about him have changed, and maybe he wouldn't have called himself a racist if con-temporary society hadn't totally diluted the meaning of the word to apply to anything barely pejorative, due to its eagerness to use that word as a name-calling device to defame its enemies.
