Alright, /asp/. Let's settle it. Between Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega, which of these two is having the better year? All I hear about is how great Okada is and how Meltzer and Alvarez and the majority of this board think he's the greatest wrestler in the world right now. Am I the only one who prefers Omega to Okada? His moves are more devastating, his attacks hit harder, his selling is unbelievably good and he's far more charismatic in the ring. But personal opinions aside, which of these two do you feel is having the better year? And although we all recognize how incredible and amazing Tetsuya Naito is, I think it's safe to say he isn't having as good a year as Okada or Omega.

Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman or Jinder Mahal
>literally has 3 5 star matches with 3 different opponents and doesn't have to rely on working the same guy over and over and over again to get his stars
>literally just won the biggest/best tournament in wrasslin history and was presented as the biggest deal
>literal top draw in Japan

I agree Omega is more offensively explosive but I think Okada has much better selling, psychology, storytelling and to round it off his offense is also excellent, just not as visually amazing as Omega's crazy move-set. He's a lot more fundamental, but his dropkick is literal perfection and the elbow drop's not far behind.
I think it's more the style you like. Omega's the thrilling high-spots guy, Okada's the sound, completely versatile mechanic.
Personally prefer Okada for more consistently great matches with a wider group.
Okada is better. If you want a clear-cut example of why watch Kenny's G1 match with Suzuki and then watch Okada's G1 match with Suzuki.
Kenny's match had great character work but it was similar to a lot of Omega matches, which isn't a bad thing because Omega matches are great. Okada's match with Suzuki, however, was something completely different. It was completely different to the match he had earlier in the year against Suzuki. Okada is better at meshing his strengths with the strengths of the person he's working with and creating something completely new.
He's been on fire all year as well. Being a babyface champion is really hard, because a babyface is far better suited to the chase. Yet look how long he's been champion and how great his reign has been, it's really a testament to how good he is.

I agree and this is a pretty good example of how flexible Okada is, but I think the Omega/Suzuki match was more marred by run-in bullshit, whereas Okada cleared off the scrubs within five minutes.

This.
>>3017826
Omega botching like half of his moves didn't help either
Still can't believe Meltzer gave it 4.75, he's either the biggest Omega mark in the work or a sellout

It's very easy to say he's an Omega mark, but Kenny has still been turning in ridiculous performances this year, I find it hard to disagree with many.
That one though was bullshit. Match had no flow, 3 stars would've been fair.

He made GOAT title irrelevant in just 1 month.
Juice
I'm a giant Omega mark but I gotta give it to Okada.
They needed each other to reach these heights, but I think Omega needed Okada more than the other way around.

Neither.

Okada is worse off drawing power wise than he was going in to the feud. Having him seriously wrestle a junior heavyweight clown like omega who fights little girls to time limit draws has made him a joke and firmly behind both Naito and Tanahashi in popularity.
But hey at least now Omega can finally fill up bingo halls in the usa

Kenny Omega is very good but Meltzer overrates his ass like crazy.
Yeah. Even Meltzer finally admitted Naito is the real biggest star in New Japan. Why do hardly ever see Okada merchandise in the crowd anyways?
>>3019276
vs. taka at bosj is a 7 star match
>>3019309
Okada does more for attendance on shows and packs out building better than anyone else. He's undeniably the most important guy they have.
>>3019309
Most of Okada's merch is pretty mediocre, he doesn't have any iconic designs like BC or LIJ
I'm a Kenny mark but Okada deserves it.

Taichi/His Hands In His Pockets vs Red Shoes/His Patience is the literal GOAT tag feud.

>Okada Tana
>Okada Ishii
>Okada Omega
>Okada Shibata
Well that's four guys for Okada
>>3017782
Okada. Just because I hate that flaming faggot, Kenny.
>>3017782
Naito.
>>3017782
Voted for Okie Dokie. Omega is too goofy in the ring, reminds me of Ambrose except with much better spots.

the biggest tournament in wrestling history was survivor series 2015

What did he mean by this?
