That's been every Omegafag since January. Even Meltzer said NJPW is wasting Kenny's time if he didn't get the title il by the end of the year.

It's been obvious to everyone that watches all of NJPW that they have no intention of "conquering" America when they can't even half fill the dome at WK. Kenny is another in the long list of gaijin they've used for international exposure (Bob Sapp, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, MVP, Finn Balor). I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped his US title to an actual midcarder like Juice Cringeson at Global Wars since he seems popular in Japan, or Cody since his drawing power is almost on par with Kenny in America.

I think Kidani is smart and doesn't do harsh moves like wanting to "conquer" US. He took some weird entertainment thing under his wing and established goals for it. Now they are almost reaching market saturation in Japan I think.
They will be showing growth all across the board this year, as they were last year. But I think (it's on Thursday) they will get like +2500 people in the Dome in 2018. If they do, it's because Okada will still be a champ and Naito will be challenging him. If they will do Kenny v Ibushi that will be one more draw to force people to take day off from work (yeah, don't know how that will go in Japan, not much casual fans will come), cause those two together are confirmed draws for Tokyo market.
But where he can make more money is by getting subs to his streaming service from western fans, that are used to OTT services and paying for them. So I think if they promote hell out of WK, again send wrestlers to talk to wrestling journalists, maybe more push across some mainstream US media and let people pay and watch it easily on 4/1, he will make more money and maybe retain some people.
And NJPW announced they are coming back to US. If they retain lot of subs they can choose a place to run a show (probably west coast again) and start slowly but surely building that audience there. I don't expect more then 2 events next year, but year after that I think they can try to run one of the G1 shows there as well.
If that is conquering US in some minds I don't get it. I see a business trying to grab some of that market that just lays there waiting for them. But not rushing and fucking up, but doing a patient job of it.
