Roman is the victim of horrible booking and micromanagement, pretty much the same as most others in WWE. Roman gets heat because he's more prominent than most.
If Roman went somewhere else and got some guidance but still had creative freedom and given good long term storylines, he'd probably be able to get himself over huge. But why should he? He's getting paid big money, selling tons of merch to kids, main eventing Mania every year.
Shame, though. Maybe he could have been Okada-like.
