So the WWE financials for the year were released so far and here are a few highlights.
>Attendance: Way Down compared to 2016
>Merchandise: Way down compared to 2016
>Ratings: Way down compared to 2016
>Had a record-breaking revenue of 214 Million for the year, managing to flip 5.8 million dollars in profit, resulting in a hilariously small profit margin for the year, as of August 1st, 2017.
>Last year, they promised that business would be way up this year after what was considered a "disappointing year" in which they made 32 million in profit.
>We are 2 months ahead of the halfway point of the year, August, meaning that they'd need 16 million at this point to break even with their profit of last year by JUNE, and they have less than 6 million as of august, meaning they are not only NOT EVEN CLOSE to having a bigger year than 2016, they are way, way down and behind, with both Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble (their two most profitable events) BEHIND them and in their rear-view. "Lots of catching up to do."
>Have to make budget cuts including the cancellation of WWE network shows, no longer using pyro and the inevitable release of many talents to stop the bleeding.
Meanwhile:
>Merchandise: Way up
>Attendance: Way up
>Thus far, business is G-1 is also strong. At press time, every show but one, the 7/25 show in Fukushima, sold out in advance, and that show did end up being sold out. It was almost weird on 7/24 when the word was out the day before the show that there were tickets available. For a comparison with last year, four of the first even nights were legitimate sellouts and overall business based on the same period last year is up nine percent from what was considered a strong tour.
>New Japan Pro Wrestling literally CANNOT stop selling out shows, all G1 shows are sold out, all PPV events are selling out, merchandise is through the roof, particularly Bullet Club merchandise in America that has sold out 4 times in certain Hot Topic retailers, all ROH shows are selling out and the company is experiencing a re-birth, it is currently in its "hot" phase.
Make the switch, E-drones. It's clear that the fans have. You don't have to sink with their ship. It's time you give another company your attention, it's time you stopped being insulted by a company you so loyally follow. Let's end this... corporate, cancerous monopoly once and for all, let's end them together, e-drones. This is the year that NJPW takes over.

>All this fucking denial
You'd have to literally be braindead to assume NJPW isn't swimming in merchandise money right now. Attendance is way up, that's an irrefutable point and I don't even think you're stupid enough to try to challenge this. With the rise of Los Ingobernables de Japon and the Bullet Club Hot Topic deal (which was so successful that they'll be selling official NJPW and LIJ merchandise later on this month), you'd again, be foolish to believe they're not having an incredibly successful year.

New Japan posted their highest profit in half-a-decade last financial conference
>Vince will just find another way to sabotage the emerging competition.

>Too busy sabotaging his own company

NJPW isn't going to actually take WWE's spot tho
The two will just be competing for the Niche crowd in the US with the WWE having the Causual crowd declining and NJPW having the Japanese Crowd
I would love to see NJPW try to aim for the MENA/South Asian crowd tho

Last time he tried that all he did was take away the underachieving 3rd place top guy, top gaijin and top gaijin tag team.
All of them were easily replaced.

This. And with younger, more exciting talent at that.

Don't forget that was after they cut ticket prices for Wells Fargo by up to -$50

Cutting ticket prices still didn't help poor WWMeme sellout the arena

Who would have thought that bad booking, bad shows and bad PPVs would actually lead to bad financial number.

No wonder Vince fired Brock "No Dimes" Lesnar, BMBBDRR can save wrestling finally

It's really a credit to how much better NJPW is at building up talent and preparing for the future.

WWE's setup eliminates 3 thousand seats, but that probably doesn't matter because they should have gotten 15ish thousand.
