Nakamura wasn't acquired for the purpose of geting him over in the US, he was acquired for the sole purpose of him NOT being in NJPW.

Much like most "somebody else's top-guy" acquisition, it's not to make WWE better, but to make another promotion worse. From an "/asp/ getting better material to watch" perspective it's terrible, but from a "vinny boy always gets his money" perspective, it's always a smart move.
