There's been so much good rasslin' the last few weeks guys I'm not sure I can take much more. I might need to watch WWE Battleground to bring it back down a few notches. Anyway watching the 7/25 show now, then the 7/26 show after. Not sure I've ever watched this much wrestling in two weeks or so ever and I've been watching for over 25 years. NJPW World is bretty gud.

Outside of G1 how many NJPW events are typically on in a month there? There's no way it can be close to the number of G1 cards.

In between those shows they have live events, 1 a week at least usually, leading to those big events.

Then they have their big tournaments:

-Best of the Super Juniors in June
-G1 Climax July
-Super Junior Tag Tournament in October
-G1 Tag League in November

The tournaments have a bunch of matches spread over weeks (if you just started following watching the G1 you now know this)

Late 90s MMA was getting super popular, more so than wrestling. So to capitalize on the growing sport, Inoki started forcing his wrestlers to do actual MMA fights with real MMA guys.

He literally took his own guys with zero to little MMA experience and locked them up with actual fighters. Look up Nagata vs Cro Cop, it's the saddest fight ever.

He's also responsible for overpushing Nakameme who flopped hard as an Ace.
