Why is WWE so scared to give their wrestlers some freedom to get over on their own? Why can't they make titles prestigious and title reigns matter? Why can't they have logical long term booking? Why do they have to water down guys that are WAY over in other promotions?

Because it doesnt matter. As long as people(smarks included) watch all their programs and subscribe to the network, they will not change. I mean, why fix something that's not broken right.

They've lost almost half a million regular viewers per year for the last <3 years

Vince is set in his ways and won't change until WWE starts losing money.

Right. But people are still subscribing to the network, which generates income. Also, WWE is still the highest rated show in USA network so theyre still standing strong.

>Why is WWE so scared to give their wrestlers some freedom to get over on their own?
Vince sees his roster as his toybox of wrestling figures. He likes to see who he likes go over and who he doesn't lose. When he tells people to grab the brass ring, I think he means sell him on you more than get over without permission.
>Why can't they make titles prestigious and title reigns matter?
It's not like they don't try. The US title was dragged out of the gutter thanks to the Cena open challenge and his matches with Owens. A lot of their booking is on the fly because Vince will change his mind about something.
>Why can't they have logical long term booking?
They've done year long booking recently (Cena/Rock, allegedly Roman/Brock) but what Vince believes can and wont draw can change a lot over 12 months.
>Why do they have to water down guys that are WAY over in other promotions?
Vince doesn't watch other promotions and many of the people signed to his company are there based on buzz or because someone else hired them.
