Forbes says that the reported breach includes addresses, educational background, earnings and ethnicity as well as customers’ children’s age ranges and genders. Dyachenko says that this information was stored on an Amazon Web Services S3 server without username or password protection. At this time. It’s likely the database was misconfigured by WWE or an IT partner. The same thing happened with other recent leaks on Amazon-hosted infrastructure. Some lazy third party contractor just fucked their business.
This isn't amazon, their archetecture is robust as fuck.
Really doubt it is WWE in-house, either. Probably some contractor who didn't secure the data, in order for WWE staffers to access it easily
Sucks for WWE, though. They will get the fine and the third party contractor will just fold, being too small to equal the costs of the bill.
