People forget how unbelievably over Sting was in the early 90s and 97-98.

There was a vocal minority pushing for Nash to win at Starrcade but that's more because the Wolfpac were the most over thing in WCW at the time, even more then Goldberg. Though give it to Nash, he was the #1 reason the stable was over in the first place.

In the wolfpac yes. But he was never more over than Sting in the summer of 90 or anytime from late 96-97. Sting was also more popular for most of their careers.

Not saying there weren't some fans who weren't cheering for Nash, there was a vocal minority wanting him, and people were in general excited for a face Nash run as champion. There were absolute cheers when Nash won he was probably the third most over guy in the company at that point. I'd liken it to the Hogan Warrior wrestlemania match. Two faces going at it, one was more over then the other, boos happened to the one that was more over, people cheered at the victory of the less over guy. I'm not saying Nash wasn't over, he was, but Goldberg was the man in the same was Hogan was in 90.

Why are we comparing Kevin Nash, a legend in the game, to a mid-card geek in a worse era?

Under Bischoff WCW a company generating 10 million in losses on 24 million worth of revenue, and became a company with 350 million in sales pumping out over 50 million in profit.

WCW was so much more regional/small time & attendances were about 2,500 average. Nash was always in top 5 top player in WCW and from 1998 was top 3 during the WRESTLING BOOM.

Nash and Ambrose are both cool likeable guys. The difference is Nash is like the big popular jock that everyone loves, and Ambrose is just the guy that shows up at all the parties and gets along with everyone but kinda keeps to himself. You're either a goldberg fan in denial or too young to know. The majority of fans hated Goldberg at that point. He never progressed beyond a squash match and he was pissing people off by doing that, to non-jobbers who had their own fanbases. His act only works against the Jerry Flynn's of the world. FACT. And his squashes only looked good against lightweights so he can do powermoves which he never did against the big boys.
