Dave Meltzer for example knows for a damn well Eddie was the lowest drawing WWE Champion but he instead projects that title on Kevin Nash and to a lesser degree JBL.

Ditto smarks. Eddie is never brought up as the lowest drawing WWE Champion. They bring up once again Kevin Nash and to lesser degree Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart.

All you need to do is a google search. There is only one guy who has put Eddie being the lowest drawing WWE Champion out there (because factually he is) and he's brought up here often.

Eddie Guerrero was getting good pops for a aging, depressed, mid-card superstar. Not great pops, nothing compared to what DX and The Rock were getting in 1998, just good, slightly-above-average pops. But before we know it, because of an exodous of main event talent, Eddie is defeating Brock Lesnar and celebrating a WWE title victory. From a business viewpoint, it was a terrible mistake. Hardly any of us would spend our hard-earned money going to shows and buying PPVs with the sole purpose being to see Eddie Guerrero wrestle. We would have done with Hogan, Austin, Rock, and many others such as Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Diesel, HBK, and HHH. Unlike these wrestlers, Eddie Guerrero didn't have 'it', and that is the ability to draw fans interest over a long period of time and to have them view you as 'the best'.

Eddie's title run wasn't a credible one and was an utter flop. Eddie as a the main draw for Smackdown has been a huge disaster, resulting in low-ratings, low-interest and low buyrates. And most importantly, Eddie wasn't been able to handle it. Throughout his entire WWE title run Eddie was constantly doubting himself, and having a low opinion of one's self whilst wearing the WWE title is always going to result in a failed title run. Eddie's title run hurt Smackdown. Life and history teach us many things; Germans are evil, the French are arrogant, Americans are fat, the Irish like to drink and England is the greatest country on Earth. One more thing we can add is that Eddie Guerrero dis not make a good main event superstar.

Being in the main event doesn't make you a draw.

HBK as champ was destroying the company. When Stone Cold Steve Austin won his first Royal Rumble, in San Antionio, HBK was champ, the crowd was dead for him and WWE had to give away 20k tickets.
Diesel as mentioned above has the worst long run as champ in history.
Another major flop was Sid, lowest rating as champ and lowest buyrate for Mania main event.
Bret Hart also was never a big draw outside Canada

These people were main eventing in the post steroid era, when business was dead.
