Konnan got over huge when he joined Wolfpac in 1998. He got rub from being around Nash, Savage, Sting, Luger who were all legit top stars. He was so over sold out crowds would repeat he catchphrases ala New Age Outlaws. When he beat Chris Jericho for TV title place exploded and it's one of biggest pops in WCW history. Rap video made him come off as a superstar. A very over midcard act.
