So! The matches for this year's G1 Climax have been announced. Which matches make your pussy wet, /asp/? Which match will steal the show? Who do you think's going to one the A block and the B block? Has the IWGP Champion ever won the G1 Climax and if so, how often does it happen?
Omega vs. Suzuki has the potential to steal the show.
Hopefully they give SANADA a bit of time with Okada
>>2808399
He tapped out Tanahashi clean last year in his G1 debut so they clearly see the potential in him
I think Omega/SANADA is gonna blow everyone away
Kind of new to NJPW, I was wondering how the fuck this tournament works. Why do some guys like Elgin and Ishii only have one match while others have 3 ?
>>2808561
No, they have 1 ANNOUNCED match, but everyone gets to have 9 matches, some just draw more than others
>>2808372
>Has the IWGP Champion ever won the G1 Climax
Yes, twice
Im stoked for Omega/Suzuki, Ibushi/Naito and really just want to see Naito wreck Cuck Sabre Jr.
>>2808561
It's 2 blocks of 10 wrestlers and you have to wrestle everybody in your block.
But they obviously jigger the order so the big name matches happen at the bigger shows, this is just advertising the important draws.
Like they have saved Omega v Okada and Tanahashi v Naito for the last 2 nights, in the RyĆgoku Sumo Hall.
Looking reaaaaaal forward to Omega/Suzuki, Omega/Okada and Ibushi/Naito. Really fucking stoked.
Lets do this Tanahashi!
>>2808372
I'm unironically ZSJ mark, and A Block is literally perfect.
>Ibushi for CWC hype
>Nagata for technical masterpiece
>Ishii and Fale for all the bad reasons
Putting him with Tana first is a great choice too, but vs Naito is probably the most intriguing to me
>>2808725
Where is this from?
>>2808372
A block is fucking stacked. Rooting for my boy Naito.
>>2808561
To make it clearer, pic related is how the "bracket" will looks like. In each block, every wrestler collects points (win: 2, draw: 1, lose: 0). Highest point collector from each block will be in the final.
>>2808738
The Stardom-world network. They have a pyjama party series of videos where Io, Kairi and Mayu talk about their wrestling husbandos in broken English. Cute.
Bumpity Bump Bump.
>>2808831
Does my boy Naito get a shout out?
>>2808813
How are ties broken if the top two in a block drew their match? Usually it's whoever wins the head to head, but if it ends in a tie, what happens?
>>2808372
This G1 line-up is simply BASED
>Naito v Ishii
>Omega v Suzuki
And obvious hype for Okada/Omega III
>>>2812348
>How are ties broken if the top two in a block drew their match?
I think whomever of the two has previously beaten the person currently in second place points wise ultimately wins their Block.
G1 rules as follows:
Win = 2 Points.
Draw = 1 Point.
Lose = 0 Points.
Having Okada v Omega on the last day of B block pretty much confirms one of the will be winning it.
>>2812580
Last year had Okada vs. Tanahashi final night of A Block
>>2808372
Ibushi/ZSJ - CWC tease
Omega/Okada - Not sure how they will handle a non-title match and also feels too soon for a rematch.
Hoping Naito wins the tournament.
Still wishing Shibata the best. Really sad when he wasn't announced for the G1.
>>2812839
>this could be Shibata's year to win, but now he could only watch it from the hospital, that is if his eyes are still functioning
fuck
>>2808372
hyped for all the A block matches
>TANAHASHI DA ACE
>BASED ZSJ
>IBUSHI-GOD
>TRANQUILLO MAN
>WARRIOR MAN WITH COOL FINISHER
>NAGATA-BRO
can't wait for G1 this year, shame they can't invite AJPW guys again like last three years
>>2812870
Stop mane, it is too soon. ;_;
>>2812839
>Omega/Okada - Not sure how they will handle a non-title match and also feels too soon for a rematch.
Omega is going to go balls to the wall super fast and super hard and pin Okada.
>>2812870
He will get that title one day r-right?
Dear god, there are so many matchups I wanna see. Every day has at least one great potential match, but the most hilarious will no doubt be Suzuki vs Yano.
>>2813074
Suzuki and Yano is seriously one of my favorite feuds in NJPW.
where is Fale?
he didnt show up on the reailer of the matches
>>2813088
god i missed heel yano
>>2812884
Pretty stacked.
>Naito vs ZSJ
I'll be worked if that twink no sells. How can this match go any way other than Naito just snapping the guy in two? It's a complete mismatch physically.
>>2813207
Absolutely GOAT
