he'd gradually decline (even more than he did after about 98) over the course of 10-15 years, eventually appearning only at wrestlemania for some matches against the most recent new top guy vince wants to push, sometimes winning, sometimes losing, but always disappointing the fans more and more

He probably would've went part time mid 2000's rather than retire doing several stints over a period of months with maybe a few title runs
Without the injury he probably would have put over punk at some point and pushed him to mega stardom over Cena
