the build up for this match worked me pretty good when I watched it as a kid desu, I actually thought there was a chance it could be the end of the WWF

but then earlier in the night Test winning immunity spoiled the result

As a kid I loved this match and angle. As an adult I look at Austin, Shane, and Angle being on the W/ECW side and realize how horribly botched this whole angle was. They should've had DDP, Sting, Goldberg, Hogan, anybody but three dudes who were clearly part of WWF.
