What is the highest rating Raw ever got?
Unironically the one with Undertaker & Stone Cold going on at eachother
Based Taker and Stone Cold being the reason to watch this shitty man-drama. I miss them.

Why don't you just google it??????
What the hell...I'll tell ya.
May 10, 1999 - Raw drew an 8.09 rating (7.76 first hour; 8.42 second hour) and a 12.1 share. 6,148,000 homes and an estimated 9.2 million viewers. The peak period was the three-minute over-run for the Rock & Austin & Vince vs. Undertaker & Helmsley & Shane match with a 9.17 rating, making it the single most watched pro wrestling match in the history of cable television and the first match in cable history to top 10 million viewers (6,968,000 homes and approximately 10.4 million).

You are wrong. Steve Austin vs. The Undertaker on RAW on June 28, 1999 drawing a 9.5 rating & 10.72 million viewers was the most watched match/segment in history. But that was not the highest rate but it was not the highest rated episode of RAW (6.82 rating - 6.41 first hour; 7.19 second hour).

>8.09
>WWE will never hit this number again
>>2788109
why would I google it when you can google it for me mate
>>2788109
Wait, so where does Rock This Is Your Life fit in to this.
>>2788113
it was just a lie told by Russo to try and prove wrestling is not the draw
>>2788112
I didn't Google it. I copied and pasted it from a newsletter.
The point is if you don't look it up yourself you won't truly know if it's accurate e.g. I had to correct a guy who said the show with highest rated Raw match/segment, was the highest rated Raw episode, and you probably would have believed him.
>>2788144
which one was highest?
>>2788163
Austin vs Taker was higher.
But Vince Russo always says "highest rated segment" when referencing "Rock This Is Your Life" so technically he's not wrong - even if he truly believes nothing rated higher than it.
Regardless Russo was the head writer of both. Both Russo had a hand in both Austin's and Undertaker characters in addition to writing storyline build to the Austin/Undertaker highest rated match.

They'll be fine for a long awhile at least, they're still one of the most popular shows on cable, same with Smackdown. The most watched on most Mondays, but a large part of their audience is not 18-49 which is the main demo advertisers care about.

Exactly the masses don't tune in to watch cold matches. Vinny Ru wrote the Austin vs. Taker feud. The stories back then were awesome. Watch Fully Loaded 1999 main event promo package.
>>2788197
People definitely won't tune in to watch cold non-wrestling segments either, so what's your point?
>>2788203
Austin vs. Taker drew highest rated match in history due to a combination of character and story.
Some Russo haters I assume would not give him any credit despite Austin vs. Taker match having great story heading into it.
Russo wrote episodic TV.

As somebody who's actually watched some of the "episodic TV" that Russo put out, you're laughably full of shit.
Some of his Nitros didn't even have writing that remained consistent within the same fucking segment.
