What are some great WCW matches from 2001?

There probably weren't many. The only thing I really remember about WCW in 2001 is sadness.

Why?

Steiner vs. Nash (SuperBrawl)
Steiner Brothers vs. DDP/Booker T (some Nitro)
Steiner vs. DDP (Greed)
Steiner vs. Booker T (Last Nitro)

>Scott Steiner becomes face of the company
>company dies
What did he mean by this?

I was in high school and a WCW guy throughout the Monday Night Wars. By 2001 Goldberg's mythos had a hole blown in it, DDP was trying to carry the show on busted knees, Sting hadn't quite recovered from the Wolfpac shenanigans, and it seemed like Scott Steiner ran the entire show. The cruiserweight division was in shambles. They introduced a bunch of weird themed PPVs like SIN and GREED that even to my angsty teenage mind sounded like bad attempts to be edgy.
To be honest, there may have been some great matches. I don't remember being wowed by any, because the storylines were so bad it sucked the fun out of everything.

Steiner wasn't face of the company. He was the monster heel who put being built up for face of company Goldberg to slay.
It was widely believed by insiders at time that Steiner (who was showing signs of being drawing card an drawing comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin before his explosion in popularity) vs. Goldberg was WCW's first money making programme in years but WWE bought the company.

WCW was rebuilding. Eric Bischoff was back in charge and booking got more stable. EZE thought big picture so started pushing Sean O'Haire to be next top guy. The TV improved.

2001 watch anything with Shane Helms, the 3 count/Yung Dragons stuff is over but 6 of them still rotated matches on the undercard.
Anything with Sean O'Haire, the guy was RVD in Mike Awesome's body.

Russo had permanently killed the WCW main event scene by treating the main belt like a joke.
