So his gimmick is two-fold.
1, he wears body paint; he's Goldust if it were Goldust was in shape.
2, he's undersized but over-powered, like Crash Holly or the Hurricane Shane Helms.

But in reality Trips signed him to get the marks to stfu about the Bullet Club and NJPW. He hasn't even cut one good promo on Raw... fucking doa. But cool body paint.

To be fair, who has? Current WWE scripts their wrestlers so hard, that natural promos don't exist anymore. They're forced to memorize word for word scripts with buzzwords to promote the next bland PPV (rofl balls of fire for instance).

Remember the WWEs market strategy is to make sure the wrestlers don't go over as individuals, only that their brand does in order to push merchandise and limit their future contractual negotiations/prevent them from leaving for Hollywood . If a wrestler as an individual never gets over with the mainstream crowd a la The Rock/Cena, then they won't abandon the WWE, but their brand still helps to push merch a la BALOR club.
