It's great for me. Most open / casual bowlers throw in the low 100s. If they string strikes then that number will jump to 150 or so usually.

I've been bowling more seriously since January, and I'm happy with the progress.

Actually just picked up bowling this year.

Currently only have a single ball (Hustle PRO), and a pair of cheap brunswick shoes that I've had for a couple years (used to bowl often enough, that i would save money on shoe rentals).

Just recently started keeping track of my scores, I avg around 145-ish, So I'm still a complete fucking noob.

I bowling 2 finger, 2 handed style. Currently having difficulties bowling a consistent high speed, if I mess up my walk-up timing the ball speed will decrease significant enough that my high RPM shot over hooks and often side swipes the opposite pocket.

Thinking about picking a urethane (pitch black maybe?) or plastic ball for spares shooting, and dryer lane conditions.

Depends on the kind of ball you get, but generally for 200 USD, that is a bad combo.
Shoes can run from 30-80, generally with these combo deals they usually only pair like 30-50 dollar shoes.
Usually the balls that come with combo deals are urethane or plastic, which shouldn't really be more than 100 dollars (including fitting+drilling).

Now if the combo came with a top of the line new release reactive resin ball, it might be wort hit.

If you're just looking for a spare ball, any plastic ball will do, and I definitely recommend picking one up to go with your hustle pro. Throw straight at spares, the accuracy you'll gain will help your strike game too.

also I recommend getting a pin tracking app. it helps you learn where your gaps are to focus your practice sessions. PinPal is a commonly recommended tool, but there are free options too.
